Positively surprised when returning after the renovations were completed. Fantastic place. Rooms done beautifully, everything with the hint of the InterConti color scheme. Facilities, food, service, all first class. Currently the best city hotel in Lusaka.

I stayed here for four nights when traveling on business and, generally, I found the staff responsive and diligent--from the airport transport to room service to exchanging currency. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There was one morning when I urgently needed to print something, but the business center was not open (despite the time being 10 minutes past the opening time). The front desk staff printed the document for me and, recognizing the inconvenience, he did not charge me. This was much appreciated. The fitness center was quite good, well equipped and clean. The rooms and facility seem a bit worn down, but all was well maintained.

My wife and I had lunch at Savannah Grill at the pool shortly before the first COVID 19 cases were reported in Zambia. We were living in Matanga Suites near Intercontinental and were planning to have our meals there regularly because environment and services were very good. Once the roadworks will finish, it will be a pleasant 10-15 minutes walk from our apartment to Intercontinental. Unfortunately we had to leave due to the virus crises but we still have our apartment there and hope to return. I attach a pictures taken there in March. I highly recommend the pan fried salmon.

My stay at Intercontinental Hotel Lusaka had its notable highlights and areas for improvement. The room itself stood out as a highlight, with a comfortable bed despite slightly firmer pillows. However, the air conditioning's touch control responsiveness left room for improvement, leading to a dry room atmosphere.

Breakfast was a culinary delight, with delicious, skillfully prepared food. Nevertheless, the breakfast menu's lack of variation over time led to culinary fatigue. Given the hotel's Zambezi theme, diversifying the menu with traditional dishes alongside the 'Chikanda' option would enhance the experience.

Access to the club lounge was a privilege, efficiently managed by a warm staff. However, the lounge's quiet ambiance, mirroring that of the room, occasionally caused discomfort due to the lack of other patrons, impacting the social atmosphere.

The hotel staff, unquestionably, were a highlight of my stay. They consistently demonstrated professionalism, warmth, and friendliness, contributing significantly to a welcoming atmosphere and offsetting some of the aforementioned concerns.

In summary, my stay at Intercontinental Hotel Lusaka featured a comfortable room, excellent culinary offerings, and a well-managed club lounge, though occasionally too quiet. The exceptional staff added considerable value to the overall experience. Improvements could include addressing air conditioning responsiveness and diversifying the breakfast menu to align with the hotel's Zambezi theme.

I was impressed with the fact that I was given VIP treatment at the airport and ushered into a waiting room at the airport which was managed by an Intercontinetal staff member. In there I was checked in to the hotel and didn't have to queue when I got to the actual hotel.

Very nice hotel, amazing gym and instructors, great location and the best grilled Tilapia fish for dinner.

Overall, this renovated property is very good. Some highlights:

First, the staff is well trained and friendly. One of the (baggage) greeters named Fred was always friendly and went out of his way to be helpful. A similar commendations could be made for the front desk and fitness center staff.

Second, my room was nicely appointed and impeccably cleaned each day. A big plus!

Third, the large fitness center has almost brand new equipment.

Fourth, the breakfast is outstanding! In addition, the breakfast room on the top floor provides a bright and welcoming atmostphere.

My only negative to comment on would be the evening dinner. You cannot order of the menu in the main restaurant; the only option is a dinner buffet. I actually like dinner buffets; but, unfortuantely, the dinner buffet at the restaurant was underwhelming -- overcooked meats and dry cakes for dessert.

Despite this one negative, the hotel is a true 5 star property. I will defintely look to stay here again when in Lusaka.

I've stayed in this hotel a number of times, and I've always been OK with it. Maybe I've never stayed in a "classic" room before, because the room was absurdly small.

It started badly. I struggled to book an airport pickup because I made the mistake of traveling over the weekend, and they required me to send in a full flight itinerary. Unfortunately, the email I sent it to was the reservations email, and they had closed for the weekend. Eventually, I asked a friend in Lusaka to intervene, and they agreed to pick me up.

The driver, a local taxi, showed up 30 minutes late driving an old beat up vehicle that normally would cost $10 from the airport. The hotel charged me $40 for the privilege.

Then the room - Let me paint a picture of how small the room is - neither my sportcoat nor my shirts could fit into the closet. There was no place to keep my clothes other than in my suitcase. The bathroom was so tiny, there was no hook to hang a towel.

The "desk" was just barely deep enough to accommodate a 13" laptop.

For someone transiting through, maybe staying for 6-8 hours, or even a single night, this might be ok. But as I was meant to stay a week, this was impossible.

I didn't give this hotel one star because the hotel staff was so nice and pleasant. Nonetheless, I checked out the next morning for a hotel with more space.

I'll remain loyal to IHG, but skip this hotel.

I visited the Intercontinental Hotel on a work trip with my colleague. The hotel is simply the best starting from service received from the staff to the cleanliness of the rooms and the surrounding. The food during dinner was tasty and the breakfast buffet display was great with a variety of food selection.
We thank the Hotel Management for training their staff in such a manner that they offer great service. We felt at home during our 3nights stay and we felt valued.
Thumbs up to the Hotel Manager for his great leadership Skills. Coming from a hospitality background, I would like to state that this hotel is 2nd to non in terms of standard, service and cleanliness.

Well done!!

The room was spacious and spotless, with great decor and crisp bed sheets. The staff were attentive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. All the necessities and luxuries like a tiny fridge, tea, coffee machine, water and evening snacks were provided . A large T.V with a king-size bed for comfortable sleep at night.

Service was impeccable from pick up at the airport by an attentive and polite hotel organized driver to check in. Rooms have been renovated and offer a world class setting with all the modern conveniences. As a business traveler the conferencing facilities and meals were all spot on the highlight being a specially made curry which was the best I have had. The Hotel is a gem and would highly recommend staying there in a quiet and great neighborhood for a morning or early evening jog or walk. staff all very friendly and enjoyed the cheerful greetings from eth housekeeper each morning.

It would be expensive. You have to get a quote from the hotel. I would think that a lot of that money could set up the nuptial couple in a nice house with everything they need for their life.
