Ezulwini means ‘heaven’, and ‘heavenly’ is certainly the motif that dominates the Mountain View International Hotel by BON Hotels. This spacious but compact hotel and conference centre overlooks the Ezulwini Valley and is surrounded by misty displays of marching blue mountains, olive‑green valleys and the huge arch of the sky. Extensive views are everywhere— sweeping panoramas from the dining rooms, vistas over the blue and mauve peaks from every bedroom, sunset skies and slumbering mountains from the terrace next to the sky-blue swimming pool, and even the experience of looking down on the clouds during summer storms. No wonder the Mountain View International Hotel is a landmark of Eswatini that is familiar to local officials, commercial travellers and visiting dignitaries. It is a favourite holiday destination for international tourists and honeymooners who can bask in the never-ending vistas above the clouds while rubbing shoulders with diplomats and bakaNgwane elites. Despite the overarching scenery, tranquillity and space, this mountain hostelry is only a short distance from the business centre of Mbabane, the political and economic hub of this pocket kingdom. The Mountain View International Hotel by BON Hotels is also a preferred choice for both local and international conference-goers who can connect to anywhere in the world from the business centre with free Wi-Fi, satellite television and professional business support. The hotel was built in the hacienda style around the central sparkling swimming pool that reflects the blue heavens and has colonnaded corridors linking the reception areas and rooms. Each room is designed and decorated differently to be personal and unique, from the cool green of the breakfast room to the subtle solemnity of the library. The walls are lined with works of art from local and South African artists to highlight and promote the local culture of Eswatini. Built in 1955, the hotel has been a family-run establishment until recently, with the new management renovating with careful regard to the hotel’s heritage and traditions. The trademark warm, personal and extremely friendly service has been retained. For tourists and holidaymakers, the hotel has 58 spacious rooms overlooking the valley—two restaurants and a congenial bar, a fitness centre, a terrace for sundowners, baby-sitting services, room service and a breakfast buffet. The landscaped garden features a giant outdoor chess set. The resort has full wheelchair access. The staff are trained and experienced in providing advice and access to a number of local activities such as hiking, birding, golf, fly‑fishing, mountain biking, game drives, horse riding and trips to the nearby cultural village. For official visitors and commercial travellers, the hotel has a business centre with five conference venues, with catering provided either directly by or within the three restaurants. In addition, satellite connections for video conferencing and a fully equipped business support facility with experienced secretarial staff are available. Every aspect of life at the hotel is dominated by the panoramic views that stretch to the horizon on every side, from the rose-gold sunset in the morning to the dimming of the light at the end of the day as the lights come on in the valley below.

The Staff are friendly and helpful in reception and the porters. The resturant staff focus on the tour bus clientele and the regulars that make use of the facility on monthly basis seem to be of absolute nuisance value. The exception to the Rule here is a gentleman called Barry who offers excellent service.
The general appearance of the hotel is good, the rooms are always clean and very pleasant. The last two trips two weeks apart have been really frustrating due to the concentration of the staff in the restaurant on the tour groups and the service level has become really frustrating. I dont know that i will continue make use of this hotel going forward.

The best thing about the Mountain View is, well…the view.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was ok - nothing great, but more than adequate. The buffet had a large variety of dishes and dietary restrictions were accommodated sufficiently.

The layout of the hotel is different. We walked under long covered sidewalks with lots of steps to our room. If you have mobility issues…you’ll need to be very careful.

Our room was comfortable, but dated. We did notice the hotel starting to undertake renovations.

So, even though the rooms are dated, you’ll be able to get a good night’s rest and take a nice, hot shower. The service commitment of the staff is exemplary. Food is ok - great (and very affordable) wine selections.

Gorgeous property with warm and friendly hospitality in the true sense. Unfortunately we were passing through on a guided tour and stayed at the Mountain Inn for only one night, I wished we had extra time at this hotel. It was an amazing experience. Our balcony room overlooks what seemed like paradise with lush and green vegetation, absolutely beautiful. The breakfast buffet was fantastic with the best eggs benedict to order. The hotel service staff paid great attention to detail and served with a smile. thanks.

This hotel was under construction and we had no idea. No place to gather and the food was the worse. Didn’t like ANYTHING about this hotel. Pitching a tent would be better. The television was a joke. They only showed coming attractions and never any actual shows. PASS!!! DO NOT GO! PERIOD!!!

This hotel had potential to be nicer. The grounds are vast, and beautiful views as it sits along a hill/mountainside. The rooms were very tired/outdated and had a stale smell. Some others on our trip requested a new room as a result. This was part of a tour, so no other option.

We arrived in a group of 14 but it was very chaotic. A key was missing. When we were settled some of the group needed to change the room. The rooms were very old fashioned. Small bed, small room, looked not clean. Restaurant buffet was also very basic but it was good food.

We had much better hotels during our trip.

Good Day Alan Louw and thank your for your interest. We most certainly can extend special rates for your group, however need further information on your room config requirements. We do have family rooms and inter leading rooms. Please do email me patrick@mountaininn.sz with details of how many doubles and extra numbers in each room eg. Will all children be in one room and adults as doubles or child sharing with adult couple?
