Small hotel, ideal for one night after arrival at Windhoek airport, or the day before departure. It is located about ten km from the airport. Access is very well indicated. The +: - Good value for money - Cleanliness of the room - Welcoming staff - Decent breakfast, even if there is not much choice. You should still find your happiness there. - Possibility of paying by credit card.
THE - : - The room deserves a refresh - The temperature in the room: we were there in winter: 2/3° outside, and the room was cold. The reversible air conditioning took time to raise the temperature in the room - power cut the next morning (approx. 10', time to start the generator which also seemed to be cold!).
I recommend for one night, no more.

An overnight stay so we could catch our early flight to Cape Town. Staff made a special effort to give us an early breakfast. Thank you. Rooms were clean and comfortable though noisy at night with trees scraping the roof and flapping shed doors! Food and service was good.

Utilitarian rooms fairly close to the airport. This worked very well for us as we flew in one evening and rented a car to drive out the next morning. Our room was clean and comfortable enough. The beds were very firm. They were flexible with our “late” arrival, a little after 9pm, and kept the kitchen open for us so we were able to get dinner. There did not appear to be any food options nearby so we were thankful for this. The food for both dinner and breakfast was good. The shuttle from the airport worked well.

Positives - Close to the airport, clean, very quite and sunset view was great as it is on a hilltop. The airport shuttle driver came promptly right outside my door to pick me up early in the morning as per schedule. Food was good, large quantity and pretty much what was expected. Cannot beat the price for two large rooms that I had with plenty of bed sheets and towels. The staff was not friendly but they did what they were asked to and gave every answer that was asked of them with a straight face so no complaints there as I was not there to make friends. Negative - No Wi-Fi in room so you have to go to the main building, but for that price I did not mind. What I think should be done irrespective of the price is change the towels, they looked like they were more than 30 years old, very worn out, and a dirty brown color. I did not want to use them and this is something that is cheap to do so some white towels will help. The bathroom was also old and worn out tiles falling out so a remodel is surely needed. Bottom line _ I would not stay there for a leisure holiday to relax etc but would surely stay there for a night or two due to the price as it is so cheap, so If i plan to be out all day and just need a place to sleep I would stay there again.

I struggle to find the words to review this place. To get to the point: Rude, unfriendly and combatant manager. Staff who tries, but clearly has no hospitality training. A reflection of poor management. Breakfast in shambles, rooms not serviced. Thus if you require any towels (too few in our room for number of people booked), toilet paper, bins emptied, then go to restaurant and hope to get some help from there. Only good thing is location with nice views, but if you have alternate options, rather go for that. Good for backpackers-type establishment. Sorry to have to write such a review, but either this or just keep quiet.

Response from Wil Bouwers, General Manager at Trans Kalahari Inn

Good day sir, It is unfortunate that you have your experience like this at our establishment. It is fortunate that we are on the ball if it concerns the stay of our guests. Unfortunate is that sometimes things do not run as they are supposed to be, especially when some guests do not have the patience for us to reply to a complaint. We apologize for this inconvenience and your 'unexpected disappointment'. Kind regards,

The worst campsite I ever came across in Namibia. Basically camping at the parking lot with view of a cellphone tower for 300 N$ per night. Unfortunately there are no alternatives anymore, I rather sleep at the airports parking lot next time.

We spent a night here at the start of our Namibia tour this year. The inn is actually nice, about 20km from the airport. We arrived in the evening in the dark and pouring rain. Room 2 couldn't be locked because, according to the owner, the key was missing. The next day we went to Waterberg. There we noticed in the evening that the wallet with credit cards, driver's license, etc. was missing. We tried countless times to call and the manager only answered three times. She made no great effort to help. It was only when we threatened to report the case in the morning that the wallet was "found". We drove more than 1100km that day because the next stop was Rundu, i.e. 600km extra because we picked up the wallet in Windhoek. And that at almost 76 years old! An employee told us that she had already handed the wallet in at reception that evening. The manager said that she had found it under a blanket in the closet that morning. What's true? A unique experience in Namibia.

Fantastic service. Comfortable beds so close to the airport. Hilde was extremely helpful in helping me find a place to get my PCR Covid tests done while we were in Etosha. The food is also fantastic at Trans Kalahari we had the ribs and couldn't get enough!
Will definitely be back!

Nice hotel, clean, beautiful view from the terrace and the swimming pool. The family rooms are spacious. Comfortable bedding. On the road to the airport. Good meat in the restaurant, the homemade ice creams are excellent. Breakfast included. Very friendly and professional staff.

What a place, far from the airport but the noise is here ! So far from the town. So dirty and so bad. Noisy, no smile, nothing . Just dust and a very bad price. Go in town but not here to enjoy and have fun ! Maybe I am unlucky but I can not accep it . For this price is could be better and bigger. I understand why some opinions are bad
