The building itself is beautiful and welcoming but my stay was dissatisfying: cold showers, dirty items from previous guest still in my room, room temperature, toilet would continue to run after being flushed, and the alarm system was being tested so it would go off randomly during day and evening hours interrupting sleep.
Hilton Windhoek thoroughly met our needs snd expectation at the beginning and the end of our 22 days self-drive road trip tour through out beautiful Namibia. Somehow when I was looking for a hotel in Windhoek to springboard our trip through out Namibia it was not easy to find an accommodation that meets location + comfort... and I was lucky to disregard some of the negative reviews of this hotel and trust my travel experience and intuition by going ahead in booking the Hilton Windhoek ....This hotel is exactly what is expected to find in an international hotel... it's beautiful, elegant , modern public spaces ... its restaurant in the second floor where breakfast is served is spacious and well appointed its restaurant -bar-pool lounge area is perfect for a beautiful sundowner and a quick dinner under the stars overlooking Windhoek cityscape... What comfortable beds were awaiting for us after our long 20 hours long flights from Los Angeles, Ca and a very delicious buffet breakfast with a great variety of choices was awaiting for us in the next morning .... The staff through out the hotel were all equally very gracious and ready to help with a wide warm smile ... I definitely highly recommend this hotel for anybody no matter if you're in Windhoek for business or on a holiday ...or if you're part of a tour group or you're a solo traveler... the hotel will meet your needs and expectations ...…
We stayed a total of 4 nights on two occasions, on our way into and out of Namibia for a vacation. We had only planned to stay 1 night at the end of our trip before flying home, but unexpected circumstances delayed our departure and we stayed two additional nights. The staff could not have been more courteous and helpful, accommodating our change of plans, helping us park our truck (which would not fit in the parking garage) and arranging for safe and reliable drivers to shuttle us around Windhoek several times. The staff was working hard under very difficult conditions, as covid numbers shot up in Namibia during our vacation and the country imposed numerous restrictions on citizens (but not on tourists). Rooms are of a size and standard that you would expect in an international Hilton. Beds were comfortable, rooms were quiet and bathrooms had everything you need. As others have noted, our rooms had some cosmetic dings and dents, which is understandable under the circumstances. Namibia has had a tourist drought for 1.5 years with no end in sight and keeping up with small matters like that is hard to justify when so few rooms are occupied. The important thing, to me, is that everything in our rooms worked. The hotel also is accommodating Hilton Honors members well, using part of the main restaurant as a substitute lounge during this period of low occupancy. I would stay here again without hesitation.…
This is the best hotel in Windhoek! We came in from Botswana via truck and called beforehand because we knew we would arrive past the COVID imposed curfew. The hotel explained they would be ready to receive us at anytime. After two roadblocks, one telling us we would have to sleep overnight on the road until 4am, we arrived at the Hilton around 1130 pm. We stayed in the executive king room with lounge access. Although the lounge was not open at the top floor, there was a lounge area in the restaurant. The room was very nice with a modern feel. Great water pressure from the shower and the large bath was great for my 2 young girls. The hotel is 10 years old, so relatively new. The foot at the restaurant was great. The pool at the top of the hotel is very nice and has a great view over looking the city and mountains. We brought lunch up to the top and had a great time. The staff were great here and the hotel is really a five star hotel for this region. Location is great too for shopping and food, and close to museums. When we come back to Namibia, we will be sure to stay here before or after the flights!…
First off, let me start by saying we were only supposed to stay here 1 night but due to weather conditions our flight to another lodge was cancelled which resulted in us coming right back after checking out a few hours before. The team immediately got us a great rate for the second night and asked if we wanted our same room back (which had been upgraded from what we booked) so we said yes that would be fantastic. The team helped our plans that had gone awry and turned it into a fabulous extra night stay. Every member of the staff is so friendly and goes above and beyond in any way they can. Stay here!
