FigTree Guesthouse is like coming home after a day in the noisy, dirty streets of Maputo. The hotel is serene, tastefully decorated with African art, and secured behind a robust gate.
The beds are truly comfortable, and the air conditioning and wifi function flawlessly. You can enjoy coffee and tea around the clock, and there's plenty of drinking water in the room - everything is just right. The breakfast is excellent too.
Perhaps there's room for improvement in streamlining the check-in process? It took almost 20 minutes.

This is a really great place, so tastefully decorated, a perfect mix of comfort and modernity with african elements that make for a very cozy and pleasant atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and super nice, the garden is beautiful and breakfast very good. The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, the shower worked perfectly (one of those where you can easily get the desired water temperature) and there was enough space for all our stuff. Parking was a bit limited but we managed. But what made this place especially amazing was the big bed with a huge mosquito net. Unlike most places we've been in Africa, they have a big frame over the bed where the net hangs from, that keeps it perfectly aligned like 4 walls, staying in place the whole night. It actually felt romantic! I would absolutely recommend FigTree!!!

This guesthouse is delightful in a very convenient location. The staff were extremely helpful, suggesting places to eat and visit, booking taxis for us and accommodating very early breakfast to fit our daytrips. They were also very flexible and moved our reservation to the next day when our flight from Vilanculos was cancelled. The location is excellent to visit the Polana Cimento area of town. Some taxi drivers needed extra instructions to find it, but it was enough to say that it was near the Igreja Polana and it generally worked out. Also, do not expect a long drive from the airport, 20 minutes and you are there.

When you enter in the reception you forget to be in Maputo. Everything it’s cured on the detail, the garden and pool are immaculate, the receptionist, the guardian, the Cheff all super helpful and friendly. The finiture is great everywhere from the reception, the breakfast room, the stairs and rooms! The breakfast is also very good. We would go back anytime passing from Maputo.

Very close to everything you need. Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful garden. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Restaurants close by and easy to order in when just wanting to stay in. A must go when visiting Maputo.

We really enjoyed our three nights here. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast. Great pool in a spacious garden area. Lovely decor throughout the guest house. Rooms at the front have the best views and more natural light.

Nice cosy guesthouse in Maputo. In a good location the guesthouse provides comfort and clean rooms. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is decent. It also has a swimming pool.
Only inconvenience is that they don't do any dinner, so you are forced to go out at night to get food (or order take away which the staff will gladly help you with & provide cutlery).

Stayed at this gem of a place for a 5 day work visit. Everything was perfect. My room was huge and the decor and ambience of the place makes it a wonderful haven of peace and tranquility right in the centre of the city. Breakfast was excellent. No meals provided in the evenings but this doesnt matter because a lovely small park with a vefy good restaurant is less than 5 minutes walk. And the guest house provides a full list of recommended restaurants and you can also order for a delivery from a takeaway menu. Thank you Fig Tree Guest House. I hope to return next time I am in Mozambique

This guest house is exeptional and we had a great stay. The staff sent a taxi to the airport for us and helped us all along our stay in Maputo. Our room had a great view of the sea and the presidential palace and was facing the backyard with the pool. Breakfast was delicious and plenty with fresh fruits, different breads, cereals, granola yogurt, eggs, cheese, coffe, etc...
At night, we walk to a neighbourhood restaurant and we felt safe.
Our room was very comfortable with a huge bed that had the a moskito net. The whole geust house is tastefuly decorated with African art and finally the host were very friendly and helpfull at any time. We will come back here on our next trip to Maputo!
