Great guest house in central Maputo. For the exclusive use of in house guests only. Friendly, efficient and accommodating staff. Good breakfast selection, clean and comfortable rooms. Internet works! Celia, the owner, is hands on and has created a cozy and comfortable atmosphere for her guests.

Stayed here for three nights in July. This was the best hotel we stayed in in southern africa! Nice rooms, great breakfast, great location and there was not a thing that the host Celia could not fix for us!

I visited the guesthouse with a friend. Really enioyed the hospitality. Great facilities. Excellent central location. My room was very nice. Only suggestion I can make is to provide a larger bath towel. Would definitely use again

This guesthouse is beautifully designed, and is a haven in Maputo. Fantastic base for exploring, Celia the manager was so helpful with anything we needed, giving us advice and recommendations in the city. The rooms were lovely and clean and the breakfast was out of this world! Would definitely recommend.

I've spent the last month traveling through South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, and Mozambique. Out of all the guesthouses and hotels I've stayed at, Palmeiras is the one that stands out. As many others have noted, the breakfast is to die for—a medley of Portuguese delights, most of which I couldn't describe, let alone name. The grounds themselves are gorgeous too—a maze of tiny courtyards and charming sitting rooms. And the staff, predictably, were wonderful as well. I only got to spend two nights here, and honestly wish I could stay longer. I'll be back sooner rather than later, I suspect. Maputo is a city to watch.

Good room, but we had no warm water in the shower, a little bit disappointed for the price we paid. The transparency of the bill was lacking, in particular the laundry. The pool was small but refreshing

Perfect location, within walking distance of all the downtown sights and only 20 minutes from the airport. Perfect staff, Celia and her staff were very accommodating and friendly, even making us boxed breakfasts for our early starts. And perfectly comfortable, lovely and unique rooms. A perfect little gem. We will definitely make this our home away from home when in Maputo.

Maputo is a bit ragged, after suffering through 2 wars, and we were bracing ourselves for a rather challenging stay. Were we ever surprised when we arrived at this little treasure, all nestled within gated walls with a 24 hour guard. The rooms were spotless, the breakfast unbelievably unique and delicious, and the guest house so inviting. Internet worked well and English is spoken, but a bit limited unless management is there, however we managed to get taxis, etc. without any issues. Downside is there are no shops or restaurants nearby so you need to venture out to eat, except for the wonderful breakfast, but taxis are cheap. Laundry was costly so think about washing things out yourself. There is an "honor bar" that offers sodas, beer, liquor, and small snacks as well. This place is run with Western standards and it shows. Definitely make time to eat breakfast, as it is not your usual eggs, bacon, etc. breakfast, but full of Portuguese delights. Absolutely one of the best breakfasts I have had overseas. If you are looking for a tour company, go with Mabeco Tours. We used them for 3 different tours and they run their company just like Palmeiras Guest House runs itself, with utter efficiency, perfection, and desire to please the guests.
