Acacia Guest House is a basic, comfortable establishment that is in Maputo. Ivy room was big, with a bar fridge, a TV, yea and coffee, towels, built in cupboards and the bed has a mosquito net and the windows are fitted with this mesh net to keep mosquitos and other insects away from the room.It is very quiet and the beds are very comfortable and rooms are clean. The security at the gate was very helpful and assisted with my luggage. The front desk person was very professional and helpful and tried her best to communicate with me in English as my Portuguese is non existent. Please note there is Oasis In Guesthouse which is different and in a different area, so do not confuse the two
My room had this bath that was not that easy to access, the tiles are on the glossy side so I was a bit worried I could slip. There is a Mimmos around the corner so you can get food. There are shops in the area to get basics.
There are steps around Acacia so getting around can be a challenge for people with limited mobility. Breakfast was basic and ok. They had hot milk and I brought my own coffee for a real caffein fix. The rate includes breakfast, which has fruits, confectionaries, eggs, ham, processed cheese, jam, cereals, etc.

Great location, nice pool and outside area. Old, but well taken care of. Very spacious room.
Best part: Isaora (the receptionist/ owner/manager?) was very friendly and welcoming. She showed us around the whole place and tried her best for any requests we had (e.g. late checkout, wifi, etc).
She prepared an amazing breakfast buffet and even made omlettes for us. The buffet was very diverse, even though we were the only two guests.

Negatives:
The hot water reserve seems very small: only one of us could shower with hot water, then it was only cold water left (same in the evenings & mornings).

Good location & accommodation. Very nice and helpful staff as well! Private parking spot was a huge plus, as we were travelers with tons of stuff in the car! Nice little getaway oasis in the city. Breakfast included as well!

I made a booking through another site, but needed to leave this review on all travel sites that list this "hotel". They cancelled my reservation and then I found out they charged me anyway in addition to charging me the "walk-in rate". After I left the hotel, a fraudulent charge appeared on my Credit Card for over $230 from that hotel and the card information was manually entered (card not present). So far, they have refused to help saying it was not them. Luckily my bank will be refunding the fraud charge and following up with the hotel. DO NOT STAY HERE OR AT LEAST DO NOT USE A CREDIT CARD!! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

The place looks nice, the rooms are comfortable and clean. We didn't have water during our stay, but we were oke with that.

BUT! We booked trough Booking.com and upon arrival we payed the room and deposit with Creditcard. After check-in we received an cancellation email from Booking.com. There way to save money and don't pay the commission to Booking.com.

That was not the worst thing of our stay. From Acacia Guest House we left early in the morning to go to the busstation. The guard checked our room (every little thing, it was just crazy!) But everything worked so we he gave our deposit back.

At 5 in the morning we were sitting in the bus (30 minutes drive from the Guest house) when out of the sudden the guard jumped in the bus and asked the deposit back. He was rude and very very protrusive. It was very scary, but we didn't want to give the deposit back. He kept on asking for the desposit PLUS the cost for the taxi he took to get to the bus station. It took at least 10 minutes to get the guard out of the bus.

After this incident they tried to call us a few times, but we didn't pick up the phone.

So please don't visit this place! The people are not friendly and honest.
