I loved the hotel from the outside and was please with the interior. The room was spacious but a little more light was needed especially when using the iPad or reading your messages.

Very friendly receptionists, waiters but the service in general in the restaurants are shocking. On the first night we went for dinner at around 9.30 and received the order an hour later - a group of people sitting across us were up in arms as they received something the6 did not order. We ordered fished with calamari but received fish fingers instead. Even after a long battle explaining to the manager it did not satisfy us in the end.
We asked to see the GM the next day - he did not make a point of meeting us at all.

The restaurant manager tried to appease us by having us for coffee and cheesecake two days later. Overall poor service. Hard had another meal there expect breakfast which was included in the price - but that service in the mornin*s was not too good.

The hotel is conveniently located for meetings in Port Louis and the Swarmi ICC.

My room was clean and bright and in a quiet location of the hotel. The pool area was nice, it could have done with a pool attendant for towels and drinks etc.

On the whole the staff were wonderful, especially Claudette who brought me my room service and Michel who welcomed me and arranged my drivers.

The only people who let down the team was the front desk manager (I think) and the man who took room service orders. The front desk manager, who didn’t wear the regular uniform, tried to upgrade me to a junior suite. Great. Except she then told me it was over the club and would be quiet around 2am. I was here for business so I declined. This seemed to offend her.

I would recommend the sushi restaurant in the hotel and there are some great places in the port area to shop and get coffees.

I booked initially for 3 nights and stayed for 10 nights, and I left a piece of my heart behind when I checked out. I truly love the place. The staff so attentive and professional. Breakfast was a great way to start the day, it was indeed a pleasure to be looked after by Marina, the supervisor and her team in the lovely resto. My room was comfortable and what a joy each morning to be able to open the patio door, stepped out on the little beach and be hit by the fresh sea air, and enjoyed the views of Caudan at sunrise. The boat taxi from hotel across to Caudan is a delightful experience and the driver always so polite. Both hotel's swimming pools indoors and outdoors are great spaces to relax. Overall it was a very special first time stay experience at Le Suffren and hope I will be able to come back again.

I stayed in this hotel for a week in March 2020. Upon arrival I was given a terrible room with a barely functioning AC and twin bedrooms with a car park view instead of a King with a harbor view as booked. This was corrected the next day after complaining. Dinner the first night was probably the worst food and service you could imagine. It took 45 minutes to even get a bottle of wine, dinner took two hours and even then the order was wrong. The chicken burger was raw. Having traveled for almost 24 hours to get there this was tolerated because or tiredness and being hungry but vowed not to eat here again.
Breakfast on the other hand has been really great, a fine selection of cereal, breads cold cuts as well as cooked breakfast items really sets you up for a great day ahead, A special mention to Joanna who has such a happy disposition and such a welcoming smile even at 6:30am....
Towards the end of the stay, we decided to try the restaurant again. It was so worth it! Kevin the manager was fantastic, he showed us th especial dishes being prepared as a buffet to celebrate Independence day and also recommended a red wine that was divine. We were taken care of at our table by Nikita, Wow! what great service she gave us. Her service, attitude and attentiveness not only made our meal enjoyable, it completely changed not only the perception of the restaurant but also of the hotel. Our food was great this time around and the service top class. Thanks again especially to Nikita, Joanna and Kevin.

As a regular guest at Le Suffren,I was quite dissatisfied with my last visit at the hotel. So sad to say that your duty manager (Indian looking guy) need a training about how to handle situations and how to speak to guests. I wasn’t the only one complaining about it him that evening. As every Friday,I decided to take go there for a drink and to use the F&B outlets. When we reached the hotel premises, the security guard at the tender station stopped us and informed us that we are not allowed to access the hotel because of our dress code specially my nephews who was wearing jeans and a t shirt. I informed the security guard that we are regular guests & that we are going to use the facility which is inside bar and sushi quay, after contacting someone on the radio we were allowed to access the hotel premises. When we reached there I went to the reception asking to speak to the duty manager about this incident as the security guard was pretty rude. The lady from the reception recognized me from my last stay along with her male colleague were pleasant and quickly contacted the duty manager. After 5 minutes,an Indian looking guy approached me without introducing himself and quoted « I know what is it about and it’s NO », I quickly introduced myself and explained the situation to him as it’s the first time I met him in person. When we were having our conversation, he mentioned that he saw my nephew seated at the main bar and mentioned that he shouldn’t even be in the hotel because he is wearing a t shirt and guess what other people are seated in shorts, slippers, tank top & T shirt. While having the conversation he mentioned that nothing can be done. I felt so embarrassed and disappointed for being treated like this, specially as a regular guests. Some other staff made the difference specially the bar staff at Pink socks (Daryl his two other female colleagues).Sushi quay staff was unprofessional & lack of knowledge “didn’t know what’s Prosecco is and what is sriracha sauce”

I stayed in the apartments here andI had a mixed experience during my stay but overall I would thoroughly recommend as the staff were very responsive to any negative aspects of my experience.
The the apartments itself was lovely, it was comfortable and I was easily able to work remotely from there. The only downside was it was not well fitted to self catering. The kitchen was missing a few essential items, there is nowhere to do you own laundry and the inverter microwave for heating food was no replacement for an oven. That said, because you get all the amenities of staying in a hotel like room service it wasn’t too much of an issue. They also provided some things I asked for.
The terrace area facing the marina was lovely and very scenic, unfortunately I had some very noisy neighbours with child who was constantly screaming. Not the hotels fault but I thought this was more of a business hotel which is why I chose it. I really think the hotel would benefit focusing on travelers who might want to remote work or business travelers. This probably isn’t the best hotel for families and it was very disrupting to have a screaming child next door.
The water taxi service across to Caduna was fantastic, they are building a bridge but I hope they keep the water taxi too, it’s a nice feature. The staff here are also fantastic, the were very responsive to any issues I had, super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. As a solo traveler great staff are everything and everyone from housekeeping to reception made it a great experience.
For me this was a fantastic base to explore Port Louis and remote work, I would definitely stay again but remember to bring a few amenities of my own.

We went there on Sept 11 around 6.30pm. We had done the reservation beforehand but it was a late check in. This is already a plus point for the hotel to allow late check in.
I do not remember the name of the staff correctly but Juriano welcomed me and my husband nicely. We already felt the cosiness and comfort when he accompanied us to fetch our luggage.
Cleanliness is another plus point. This place is up to the standard and highly recommended for its cleanliness.
We were at Henessy hotel, Ebene 2 days before going at Le suffren and i can say that Le Suffren is somehow similar but has bigger washroom along with bath tub. This makes you feel more relaxed and gets you the feeling of a 5 star hotel.
Breakfast was amazing. Again i do not remember the name of the lady who served us but she looked so dedicated to her job. She kept on serving us with a smile and made sure nothing falls short.
The view of the yacht and water while having breakfast is surely something that anyone would love.
Overall, great experience and will definitely get there soon.
