If you are visiting Port Louis and it’s market, this place is just a road away. It’s elegant, excellent service and with a lovely view of the harbour. Their daiquiris were on point whilst my husband enjoyed the local beer. The cheese samosa were a novelty. The prices were cheaper than London price. Pls do yourself a favour and go to this place around afternoon time / evening and request to be seated outdoors.

The hotel was beautiful. So were the rooms. However minor details were not taken care of. The website offers a turn down service, yet I didn't receive it at all during my 4 days there. When i requested a breakfast card to place an order, i was given a card that had already been completed by a previous guest.

Arriving on December 30 in a category 3 cyclone, all hotel staff were more than helpful - offering us refreshments and games to fill in time until the amazing rooms overlooking the harbour were ready. We had not booked for NYE but they managed to arrange an incredible table for us within the hotel. Fabuous evening - great fireworks. Everything at our fingertips

Stay at Labourdonnais was for business. Stay was from 12 June to 18 June 2022. Initial welcome was great, with covid testing. Ruth was very welcoming and made sure that the process was comfortable. Everyday, the breakfast was the same, the waiters were not attentive to non-white guests, and this is shocking and was very difficult to get their attention. However for the European guests, as they walked into the breakfast area the waiters were all over them, serving them hand and foot. With regards to leaning service in the room, the room was clean when I returned in the evening, however very inconsistent , meaning, one day all towels were made available, next day some towels were not supplied and neither were soaps. I was surprised there was no turn-down service for a business hotel. The Fusion restaurant was decent, however on the second time my colleagues and I went to eat, the food was not up to standard, very salty mushroom soup, which i returned and they still charged me for the soup. Cheesecake ordered from main restaurant was room temperature, so was not appetizing at all and service was extremely slow. I stand to be corrected, however i am sure it was a non-smoking hotel, however there were some guests smoking in their rooms or could have been on the balcony with the smell filtering into the rooms. I would think twice to book their for business on my next trip.

Organized a 2 day VIP customer event here and it was such a delight. First time ever that i would organise an event and not have a testy episode with the hotel staff. Everything was perfect. They were always ready before our guests arrived, the rooms were set up and the team was always nearby to assist. We had a couple of meals there and they were mind blowing. Hats off to the banqueting team, i was definitely impressed

We stayed at Labourdonnais waterfront hotel for two nights only to celebrate my wife’s birthday. She is pregnant therefore we wanted to avoid beach front resorts and have a convinrent city stay. What a blast that was, amazing food, beautiful room, good service, welcoming atmosphere and Mr Thierry was the one who make our stay even more special. The hotel was well prepared for us, we get the baby cot for our daughter with daily delivery of warm milk and birthday dinner at Yuzu was organised for my wife with a beautiful birthday cake. Food at Yuzu was delicious and was definitely a highlight of our stay, home made dumpling to die for, fresh sashimi and juicy peking duck, all presented with a modern twist and European standards. Dinner at Brasserie chic next day was not far from the experience at Yuzu. Extensive menu that will cater for everyone: perfectly cooked beef filet, beautifully prepared pasta, high quality ingredients and fast service was definitely something we enjoyed a lot. Overall great food, welcoming atmosphere and great attention to details.

Will be definitely recommending this hotel to my friends and family.

For the last 25 years lunch at the Labourdonnais Hotel in Port Louis used to be a very convivial affair if you were a foreign traveller. Menus were varied, fresh everyday and reasonably priced particularly the self-service Mauritian buffet with daily offerings of the locals's favourite dishes reminiscent of everybody's home cooking. Not so anymore: Lunch last Friday turned out to be a big disappointment, presumably as a result of the pandemic. The Mauritian buffet has disappeared, in its place you are served a leftover meal quickly microwaved: the lentils were borderline stale, the chapatis had clearly seen better times and the chicken curry with prawns was barely fresh. A polite complaint to the chef resulted in us not being charged for the meal, a recognition that our complaint was perfectly justified. Next time, because we will
definitely return not least because of the Executive Chef's incredible talents, we will insist on the lunch being freshly prepared rather than being served leftovers and stale food rapidly microwaved!

Dear Mr. Feroze Bundhun, Thank you for the feedback. We are very disappointed to hear of your experience. This does not come anywhere near our standards of service. We have revised our offering and will reinstate the curry bar with your local favourite dishes as you loved before. We have implemented strict sanitary protocols and so the curry bar will be attended to by one of our chefs for your service. Please email me at fbmanager@labourdonnais.com as I would like to invite you back to experience the true Le Brasserie Chic experience . I hope you reach out as we take your input with serious consideration. We hope you have a lovely day and look forward to hearing from you, Kind regards, Michael de Wet

The entire team at Labourdonnais are exceptional when it comes to service and going above and beyond. From the time my booking was messed up by Booking.com and the staff at the hotel were great at ensuring I got my booking secured directly with the hotel and arranged my airport pick up to my arrival in the morning which was prior to checking in and the room was ready. Special thanks to Saira, Alia, Sanjeev, sada, Victoria, Valerie, Shiki and Ruth. This was exceptional service including the arranged tours. The food was great and attention to detail in the rooms was five star ⭐️. I would recommend the hotel in Port Louis. I had an awesome surprise of a cake at breakfast for my birthday 🎂 . Really nice.

This waterfront hotel in Port louis is spectacular, set in the Caudan complex. The lobby is bright and spacious and very luxurious leading out to the bar area overlooking the harbour. The room also had views of the harbour, modern and very beautifully decorated
On our first night we had snacks from the bar and amazing cocktails. We met the restaurant manager Titanand who was most accommodating
At breakfast we were amazed by the choice from the buffet. they even had a savoury Mauritian section with rice and curry. The bread, pastries were so good as you would expect in Mauritius, but, the best thing was the banana jam, which Titanand introduced us to. it is amazing.
In the evening we again had a spectacular meal. The service in the restaurant and bar area is first class.
Thank you for a wonderful stay
Audrey and John

Looking at their website it does say there are private airport transfers - maybe email them to ask? Else, there is a cashpoint at the airport, and taxis immediately outside. Most taxi also take credit cards.

There is an air condition bus that goes to Grandbay north of the island and you can catch this bus at the North bus station “ la Gare du nord. Rs 38 one way allow two hours round trip. I think 6:00 pm last bus back to Port Louis from Grand bay. Bus 82 at la Gare du nord again, bus goes to Trou Aux Biches North West of the island, Triolet bus service, Rs 31 one way again allow two hours round trip. Again last bus from Trou Aux Biches is around the 6:00 pm. Be adventurous try the local bus, meet the locals they are always willing to help. Most of them speak French & English.

Now the most important issue On 11 th of November we requested to meet miss Anne as we wanted to reserve a table at the lounge waterfront so that we could celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary dinner . Miss Anne was very hospitable and promised to reserve a good seat for us and she also recommended a vegetarian pasta option for me and a lobster for my husband. She promised that she will give necessary instructions to people responsible as she would not be on duty on 12 November at night. On the 12 November we got ready and reached our table at around 8 pm The waiter who attended us supposedly was already briefed by Anne so he immediately after around 40 to 45 mins brought our lobster and pasta . The pasta was edible but very cold. I requested the waiter for a change of bread as it was too crusty and I have a problem with chewing crusty bread. The waiter very unexpectedly retorted that this is the only bread I have and that he would reheat it and serve me. I again requested him that I have weak teeth and would not be able to eat it and if he can serve me even 2 slices of bread with butter I would be grateful . Finally he relented and brought a roundish brown bread which was a bit better . But no butter was served however that’s not an issue By this time however I had lost my appetite tho . Now my husband had ordered lobster with rice and salad as accompaniment and a complimentary wine was to be served with it. The lobster came with the rice and followed by the salad but the wine never arrived. We were sitting with another family so we did not wish to create any scene so we quietly managed to eat our cold dinner. My husbands lobster was very chewy and hard so presumably I feel that our food was cooked and either kept aside or they reheated something from the fridge that it was so cold hard and chewy. We then asked someone whether we are eligible for the wine that they forgot . The head waiter immediately rectified his error he apologised and served all of us wine and drinks. He also brought in a complimentary pastry with a candle. Finally we closed in on our wedding anniversary celebration. The next day however we spoke to Anne. She promised that she would look into what went wrong and promised to invite us for another dinner which would erase the bad memories . We requested her to just see to it that we don’t have to pay for a disaster meal of our anniversary as it was really not justified, however she tried her level best but those 1650 rs were not wAived off our hotel bill. Which I personally felt it was not right . Customer satisfaction is more important for a international hotel than a mere bill of 1650 We traveled all the way from Mumbai to Mauritius and stayed in this hotel for over a week, we spent over 3 lakhs in Indian rupees so obviously we could have spent another 1650, But this was about ethics not money. We spent over 2000 rs in tipping the staff before leaving. So obviously we were expecting some gesture from the hotel too. I would request the hotel authorities to kindly be more understanding in such situations.
