I enjoyed my stay with Walmont, the room was neat and refreshing with a nice view overlooking the pool. The check in was on point and quick. The staff was very friendly and made it easy for us to ask questions for clarity.

Needs a lot of work. The staff are polite and friendly, the only major thing that lets this hotel down is the general environment, the rooms, the style of the interior and the general feeling of the interior as well as the exterior has much to be desired. It seems dingy and old, and not current at all in terms of trends for 2020.

No Room service. Female travelling alone, I really wanted to have dinner in my room. Front Desk tells you that they do not have room service, however room service menu with telephone number in the room. Room service number does not exist. First morning, I could not have coffee as there was only tea provided. I phoned the front desk and was told that I have to wait until 06h30 when someone arrives they will bring me coffee. This was delivered at 07h00. Housekeeping put the door latch on, so when you arrive back at your room in the afternoon your room is open with all your valueables, anyone couldv'e walked in. This is really a beautiful hotel, with a lot of potential. But management and attention to detail is lacking. Breakfast service is not existant, first day - public holiday was a disaster - could not get a decent cup of coffee as the machine was not working. Day 2, a bit better, more staff on duty. However, baked beans - you know that they took the previous day's left overs and added a new can to it, as the beans had different colours. Pretty sad, as this hotel has the possibility to be amazing.

Very Very lovely place with plenty plenty of Palm trees and 2 hotels the Grand palm and metcourt of the same group are there in one huge plot.Very clean route and well maintained on the way to Reception of Grand Palm. The non smoking and smoking rooms are maintained very.clean for more than 2 Decades on a very quiet and lovely place but not at all far from the main mall the Heart of Gaborone. There are 4 restaurants where you get very tasty and excellent food for the money you pay. Mokolwane,Beef Baron,Fig tree & Kalahari Bar and Bai Sheng the Chinese /Asian Restaurant.Excellent Room service are given as well as the big swimming pool is maintained well which is a paradise during extreme summer. To sum up The Grand Palm is the place yo stay if you are visiting Gaborone.

So, where to begin.

My colleague had to move to another room because of the not insignificant smell of rot wafting from floor to ceiling.

It might save you some time if you simply ask, ‘What do you actually have on the menu’?

To top it all staff burn plastic waste in the pizza oven.

What food there is, is an overwhelming disappointment.

And did I mention that staff burn plastic in the pizza oven.

Staff is extremely unhelpful and any request will just be answered with a no. Even after arranging a packed breakfast the day before it was not done on departure and nobody in the kitchen was willing to assist.

The rooms are outdated and the bathroom feels old and dirty

Well located once grand hotel. Entrance was unkempt with long grass on the palm lined drive way. Hotel itself clearly had its hay days but now appears dated.Rooms spacious clean. Beef baron restaurant offers generous portions. Famous Botswana beef delicious. Bars closed at 21:00 hrs due to COVID restrictions. Staff could have been more welcoming. Ok place..

This was my first visit to Gaborone and I was well pleased with the Hotel. The reception staff were friendly and welcoming and the room was well maintained, clean and comfortable. During my stay the only meals that I had in the hotel were breakfast and that was good with a fair variety of food available. Thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and would have no hesitation in using it again.

Horrible service at both the poolside and indoor restaurant. We called ahead to make sure they were open but when we reached they said they poolside was closed and refused to seat our group indoors even though there was availability, simply because they did not want to join two tables. The whole restaurant was empty.
