This is a lovely tented lodge, built on the edge of the cliffs overlooking the Zambezi River, east of the Victoria Falls. The lodge , and tented rooms, are situated on the cliff edge, with spectacular views of the river at the bottom of the gorge about 200 metes below. You can site at the bar, or in your room and watch the birds ( including the occasional eagle) going about their lives, below you.
The Lodge is about 20 minutes from the town, the guides are fantastic and will assist you getting into the falls then leave you to wander through on your own, use the poncho, as, even in March there is enough spray to leave you well and truly soaked.
I added a 13 minute helicopter ride to my visit, which is well worth it, I booked in advance, if you are a keen photographer, it a "must do" item.
Also, as another 'add on" ,I went "walking with the elephants" another unforgettable experience.
Over all fantastic place, Hosts Debbie and Chris are wonderful people, full of knowledge and will do their utmost to make your stay unforgettable

Gorges Lodge, also named Imvelo (Nature) Gorges Lodge, is a hidden gem on the Zambezi River in Zimbabwe over looking the cliffs to Zambia. About 20 minutes to Victoria Falls, down a dirt road and by safe villages, it offers amazing views, food, nature walks, helpful and accomodating staff and a very Nature filled experience. Stay in lodges or safari tents, all very comfy, plumbing and gorgeous views. Black eagles nest all around, wild flowers, traditional dance nice touches too. Sports activites around the area include rafting, walking, pool, safari drives.

The location is second to none. A little remote but right on the cliff face of the Gorge. All the staff went over and above to accomodate us. Richmond our driver was just awesome. We felt very welcome. The food was ok but we would of loved to try some local dishes.
The price was very expensive however we found this to be the case in most parts of Africa we visited

We stayed at the Little Gorges Lodge and Pepsi and her team including Michael, Peter and Chef Margaret took exceptional care of us. The lodge and luxury tents are perched over the Batoka Gorge. This is a hidden gem and very private with all of the comforts of home. We had a private tour of the falls and our guide Brighton was exceptional. Here you are treated like family and the warmth of the staff will leave you humbled.

Arriving at Gorges; the view was a huge shock, absolutely out of this world, and has to be experienced. The chalet was beautiful, and supplied with everything you could wish for. The staff was so friendly and nice, did their best to spoil us both for breakfast and dinner. With utmost skill and care MK (our driver) took us a long the bumpy road to Victoria Falls, the falls, and to a Sun-Downer Cruise. Thank you to all of them for making our trip so memorable.

We stayed in the Little Gorges area which was really nice. Great views of the gorge.

Tents here are very spacious and well-appointed. Fully functioning bathroom, very comfortable beds, safe, nice amenities (things like sunscreen, insect repellant).

Food was really good. Breakfast made to order plus some buffet stuff. Food was always well-prepared. Good selection of beverages.

Service was great. Very friendly. They also have some really knowledgeable staff. One thing we had was a lecture on eagles as the lodge has a pair that hang out nearby.

The accommodation is supurb, the staff and management is simply wonderful, the location is breathtaking, perched on top of a deep canyon with the Zambian River over 200 mtrs, dirctly below, monkeys and squirills, bus to take you everywhere, top food, just an unbelievable experience.
If you do not want to walk up stairs, or be too far from the dinning room let them know, as each unit stands alone in the grounds and is right on the edge to provide the best views.
You can visit the local village and school and just see how little these people have and wonder how they can be so happy and friendly.

Your Hosts, Jack and Marie will see that you have a first class stay and the staff are first rate too.

This is one of the very few places on earth that I have travelled to that I would happily return to, and I hope I can.

After checking in at reception, we proceeded to the main deck area. The view literally takes one's breath away and I think our group of 6 friends stood with mouths open in absolute silence. The lodge is built over the Zambezi gorge which is some 200m below. The main deck/bar/lounge area is definitely the best the lodge has to offer and is atrractively decorated. The rooms are clean and functional, but pretty basic. The rooms each have a deck overhanging the gorge, but in parts the wood was quite rotten and breaking away. Without renovation soon, someone is going to end going through the floorboards and it's a long way down to the bottom of the gorge. The food was OK, but nothing to write home about. The drinks were exhorbitant. I always seem to go on about the cost of drinks, which is probably not important to foreigners, as it probably doesn't cost you any less in London or New York. However I am African and so is my Husband and when I travel in my country or those of our neighbours, I get quite sour about paying more than a 300% markup at hotels on the cost that you would pay at a liquor retailer. At sundown, between 6 of us, we ordered a total of 9 Zimbabwe local beers, 2 whiskey's (South African) and a glass of white South African wine and it came to just over R1000. Roughly at the time equal to GBP90 or US$145. Very expensive for the locals!!!

As opposed to the wonderful, fully booked Vic Falls Safari Lodge from where we had just come, Gorges was empty and we were the only guests in the entire place.

Had a wonderful time at this hidden gem outside of Vic Falls. Great service and attentive staff. No helicopters just quiet and peaceful. Good food. Had a great driver (Conrad) who took us into a village and into town. Went out of his way to find croc sauce. 😊. The lodge is like an escape from the hustle and bustle of town - just what we needed. Room was large, clean bathroom nice. Added touch was laundry service !

I cannot say enough great things about this place. The views are beyond words. I booked another hotel and cancelled when I found Gorges Lodge and I'm glad I did. The drive down a long bumpy dirt road is well worth it. Passing small villages along the way giving you a feel of the Zimbabwe people. The first night was a complete surprise. Local dancers were brought in then we sat at a beautifully decorated outdoor table and had then most amazing barbecue. The breakfast was cooked to order and served in the restaurant with unbelievable views. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. STAY HERE!

Hi Errold, I am so sorry unfortunately we don't have our camping facilities any more, but we could offer you accommodation at Gorges on a Dinner Bed and Breakfast basis or Fully inclusive basis. If you would like more information please don't hesitate in asking any more further questions.

Glad to know there are more activities on offer. During our visit, the rate included 2 activities out of the following: visit to a local school, the market, Vic Falls, the walk down (and up) the gorge and viewing the Fish Eagles. As former residents of Zimbabwe, we opted out of the school and market visits, being pretty familiar with both. Our daughter has arthritis and couldn't manage the gorge walk, and the fish eagles weren't nesting. Therefore we chose to visit the Falls as one of our 'pre-paid' activities - intending to visit both days. We were not told that we could only choose each activity once and faced an unexpected expenditure at the Falls. Just make sure you are clear with the manager regarding your choices. Regardless, it is a beautiful lodge with stunning views.
