We spent one night at this hotel in February 2020 on our trip from South Africa via Botswana and Zimbabwe back to South Africa. The rooms are nice and clean. We had a room on the ground floor with a patio facing the garden. In the evening they had a nice show with local dancers. The food (dinner and breakfast) was delicious. The staff was very friendly and always offered to help with our luggage when we arrived and left. The wooden lion in the lobby area is definitely an eye-catcher!!! We would come here again when visiting the falls. Be sure to visit "The Big Tree" which is about 1.5 mi from the hotel! As in most of the hotels in Africa, they have signs warning you not to feed or interact with any animals, since they are wild and it can be dangerous.

Talk about food.the breakfast was so amazing ,you did be full the whole day,Had an enjoyable stay and interracted well with the staff who were eager to help and serve. The Merecats on the grounds of the hotel were natures reward for staying there. They would come out every afternoon to forage.Priceless

This hotel was booked for us many months before our arrival and we have sent a full payment to the tour organiser Pastor Maswanganyi from Swangs safaris, but when we were abandoned by him in Botswana and he has escaped with our money, we were told by Rainbow Hotel that the booking exists, we have to pay again. Rainbow Hotel didn’t try to contact Pastor or to use the card with which the booking was made, if it wasn’t paid. We don’t know for sure, was the hotel prepaid by Pastor or not, but the hotel could have managed the situation differently and have been more supportive as many other accommodations and guides did. We would not trust Rainbow Hotel and stay there in the future.

The hotel is on way out of town so better to get cabs from town. As a result it is nice and peaceful. Hotel grounds are beautiful, and whilst the pool is on the small side it does have a swim up bar. The bar was great to sit under and keep drinking during a quick storm. Power and WiFi is temperamental, especially in the rooms (better in bar/pool area). The dining area was small and the serving staff very unhelpful. There were a few issues with some of our rooms which we were made to feel guilty for as staff and management take no responsibilities for hotel failings. Zimbabwe is quite a culture shock after Namibia and Botswana. Beggars are everywhere and hassle you every two or three meters. The are very rude with it even telling members of our party to leave the country as they wouldn’t hand over any money. HOWEVER be warned with new currency restrictions things are only available in multiples of $5 dollars. So it’s either $5 dollars or $10 to go just a bit further if in cabs. Zimbabwe is very geared to ripping off its tourists.

This hotel is not only affordable but that it is located near town and the Falls. When I arrived there, the lady at the reception was really informative and the lady at the guest relation sector was helpful about the tours. The male staffs also were were helpful as he helped settled my usb plug issue. The restaurant serves great food and the staffs there were hospitable. During my 5 hours after I checked out, I spent my time at the pool area to bask under the hot sun and I also took the chance to do some of my japanese studies. I noticed that there was a computer on the second floor and thus you can use it. Wifi was also very good there. All in all, the stay was enjoyable. I highly recommend it to people who are not so fussy about hotel services and just want a good place to stay while enjoying victoria falls.
