The Elephant Camp is nestled within the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, resting lightly on a ridge between the Batoka Gorges and Masuwe River. The tented lodge is brimming with a timeless safari elegance which flows onto a spacious eco-friendly deck to reveal an uninterrupted view of the Batoka Gorge, watering hole and the breathtaking spray that swells above the Victoria Falls rainforest. The main area invites continuous engagement with the beautiful wild surrounds, from the al fresco dining area to the sunken fireplace and secluded viewing points.

The canvas suites are carefully placed to capture the best views, featuring private balconies complete with crystal clear pools, an outdoor shower and an elegant, uncluttered interior design. Three of the suites feature star beds, elevated on a platform to enhance the depth of the dramatic view.

To ensure an intimate and exclusive safari experience, The Elephant Camp is divided into two lodges, Main Camp and Camp West. Both are of the same exceptional standard and the flagship design of The Elephant Camp Main has been thoughtfully adapted at Camp West, creating the perfect safari lodge option for exclusive-use bookings by groups and families.

We recently had a very special stay at The Elephant Camp… largely in part to the exemplary efforts put forth by both Marshal and Ayanda towards making our stay perfect. Both of these staff members took care of us in a thoroughly professional, polished and attentive way that not only rivals but exceeds what we’ve experienced on any of our travels as well as here at home in the U.S. It is obvious that Marshal and Ayanda take great pride in their work and we felt honored to have them as our hosts at The Elephant Camp West. They are both a great asset and represent the lodge and their employer impressively. I would highly recommend The Elephant Camp West to anyone wanting to visit the Victoria Falls area.

Hotel's Favourite
The Elephant Camp, close to Victoria Falls, is a truly exceptional resort. Situated on a large estate of largely untouched bush, with numerous species of wildlife present (including rescued elephants), the property has excellent game drives immediately accessible, as well as all of the attractions of Vic Falls and the Zambezi within a very short drive. The scientific station and Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located within the property is also well worth a visit. The standard of rooms, shared areas and hospitality was uniformly high, with no hiccups at all during our stay. The food was excellent, and Richard, our chef, was very happy to tweak the menu & to make a few specials for us. Overall, one of the best aspects of the resort was the staff, who were not only friendly, helpful and professional but also very proactive and interested in finding out what we wanted to do and how they could make our stay even better. Our party included my elderly and rather infirm mother, who was accommodated without any issues at all. The staff suggested - and then arranged for - a wheelchair (& a young man to push it) and priority access to the Falls for her. This left our guide free to focus on showing us as much of the natural beauty of the Falls without needing to worry about how Mum was getting on. Our stay at Elephant Camp was an amazing start to our holiday. The only thing that I would say is that, because we were a day late arriving, due to plane trouble, that we probably tried to cram too much in on the first day. In hindsight, taking it easier and enjoying the Camp & activities at a more relaxed pace on Day 1 would probably have been even better!

Upon arrival at the Elephant Camp we were treated to a delicious complimentary drink and a cold towel to refresh ourselves after the morning of travel, after which we were guided to our amazing rooms and spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing and being escorted around the property. Throughout the whole stay we were waited on hand and foot by the amazing staff at the elephant camp especially by Tendoe, Himal and Irene. We were escorted around the property by Moses, a very knowledgeable and experienced guide that made the experience very enjoyable and educational, he also took us to our sundowner spot which was a beautiful view over the gorge situated on the property. The Elephant Camp experience was unforgettable and I can’t wait to come back and relive these moments again.

The accommodations at Elephant Camp are a true testament to luxury in the wild. The spacious tents are comfortable and elegant and offers all the modern amenities. The staff at Elephant Camp were exceptional. I want to give a special shout out to Himal, Irene, Alberto, Mack and Stan our guide. Their warmth, knowledge, and dedication were evident in everything they did. They were not only professional but also genuinely passionate about the natural world around them, providing valuable insights and fostering a deep appreciation for the environment. The dining experience at Elephant Camp was a delight. Best crocodile I’ve ever had. Each meal was a masterpiece, prepared with care and precision by Chef Nicholas. The highlight of my stay was, of course, the majestic elephants. Interacting with these magnificent creatures in a responsible and ethical manner was an absolute privilege. The camp's commitment to conservation and the welfare of these gentle giants was evident in every interaction, making it a truly unique experience.

This was my dream camping experience with the most amazing stay in a very beautiful luxurious tent with an enormous inviting and comfortable bed. A perfectly secluded outside shower and a lovely little pool to cool you down. It was so incredible I dream of staying forever. Walking towards our room through the forest we experienced the amazing aroma of the bush, a very pleasant smell. I loved it, almost preparing you for the beautiful place of rest awaiting . Meals at Elephant Camp was quite an experience with Chef Nicolas conjuring up exotic meals that was exquisitely prepared and presented beautifully. It was amazing and so good to see chef peering around the corner to see if we enjoyed it. The staff was so welcoming and our guide Stan with the beautiful voice was incredible teaching us about the bush and showing us the best views. Sundowners at Batok Gorge was unbelievable. Staying at Elephant Camp filled my joy cup to the brim cannot wait to go again.

We loved the Elephant Camp! - It was between 38-40 degrees when we were there and we only did the morning game drive once. It was much too hot for us for any activity taking place after lunch. We did the Victoria Falls really early, talking our guide into extra early so we arrived at the gates around 6:30am. It took us about 4 hours to do the walk and have lunch - by then it was time to rush back to the Elephant Camp and get in our private plunge pool!! We had some difficulty on Elephant viewing day - we didn't leave camp until around 1pm and by that time it was 39 - it was so hot my phone camera gave up halfway through the visit as it overheated. The Elephant viewing was amazing! - so close and personal with them! The Elephant Camp it's self was beautiful and very well operated! The staff was very helpful and friendly and the food was excellent. The 'tents' were luxurious! The Air Conditioning was a welcome relief from the heat and we slept very well and were rested by morning.

Our stay at Elephant Camp set the bar very high for other lodges on our safari. The staff and guides are wonderful, the food delicious, and the activities superb. We did Vic Falls at dawn, which was amazing. The elephant experience was delightful; they really take good care of the elephants and let them be as wild as possible. The sunset cruise and drinks at the gorge were also highlights. We only had two nights, and they fit everything in. I wish we had stayed another night or two, just to indulge in the bathtub with that view and private plunge pool.

The Elephant Camp was a truly terrific experience. From the moment we arrived thru our departure, we were treated like the most important guests they had. Service, food, accommodations and communication were outstanding. Our host, Moses, offered suggestions, made arrangements for us and made our stay effortless and comfortable. The environment was top-notch. Breakfasts and dinners were very good and we enjoyed our conversations with others who were also staying at the Elephant Camp. Hard to beat this camp.
