The Elephant Camp is nestled within the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, resting lightly on a ridge between the Batoka Gorges and Masuwe River. The tented lodge is brimming with a timeless safari elegance which flows onto a spacious eco-friendly deck to reveal an uninterrupted view of the Batoka Gorge, watering hole and the breathtaking spray that swells above the Victoria Falls rainforest. The main area invites continuous engagement with the beautiful wild surrounds, from the al fresco dining area to the sunken fireplace and secluded viewing points. The canvas suites are carefully placed to capture the best views, featuring private balconies complete with crystal clear pools, an outdoor shower and an elegant, uncluttered interior design. Three of the suites feature star beds, elevated on a platform to enhance the depth of the dramatic view. To ensure an intimate and exclusive safari experience, The Elephant Camp is divided into two lodges, Main Camp and Camp West. Both are of the same exceptional standard and the flagship design of The Elephant Camp Main has been thoughtfully adapted at Camp West, creating the perfect safari lodge option for exclusive-use bookings by groups and families.

The Elephant Camp, close to Victoria Falls, is a truly exceptional resort.

Situated on a large estate of largely untouched bush, with numerous species of wildlife present (including rescued elephants), the property has excellent game drives immediately accessible, as well as all of the attractions of Vic Falls and the Zambezi within a very short drive. The scientific station and Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust, located within the property is also well worth a visit.

The standard of rooms, shared areas and hospitality was uniformly high, with no hiccups at all during our stay. The food was excellent, and Richard, our chef, was very happy to tweak the menu & to make a few specials for us.

Overall, one of the best aspects of the resort was the staff, who were not only friendly, helpful and professional but also very proactive and interested in finding out what we wanted to do and how they could make our stay even better.

Our party included my elderly and rather infirm mother, who was accommodated without any issues at all. The staff suggested - and then arranged for - a wheelchair (& a young man to push it) and priority access to the Falls for her. This left our guide free to focus on showing us as much of the natural beauty of the Falls without needing to worry about how Mum was getting on.

Our stay at Elephant Camp was an amazing start to our holiday. The only thing that I would say is that, because we were a day late arriving, due to plane trouble, that we probably tried to cram too much in on the first day.

In hindsight, taking it easier and enjoying the Camp & activities at a more relaxed pace on Day 1 would probably have been even better!

Having visited Victoria Falls previously and thinking i had experienced much of what the city had to offer, i can say confidently that my stay at The Elephant Camp absolutely opened my eyes to how much of the area i had previously missed. The tours and experiences on offer from The Elephant camp were outstanding and the knowledge the guides had of the area, animals and history of Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls was immersive.

On top of The Elephant Camp's ability to guide a person through the sights and sounds of Victoria Falls, the environment created around the camp itself is second to none. The staff were unbelievably welcoming and greeted us with smiling faces and waving hands every single time we returned to the camp after a day of adventures. There was never a moment in which the staff were unable or unwilling to assist us and did everything they could to make sure we were comfortable and cared for, whether that was first thing in the morning or late at night. The rooms were immaculate and the views of the surrounding landscape from each private deck were like something out of a story book. On a holiday that was heavily directed towards adventure and experiencing Zimbabwe, it would be easy to overlook the food and drinks. However, the quality of the meals prepared at the camp were fantastic, and everyone's needs were catered for.

I can say with confidence that The Elephant Camp was central to our stay and our desire to experience Victoria Falls on another level. i am certain i will be back one day, and i would urge anyone who is visiting Zimbabwe to visit Victoria Falls and stay at The Elephant Camp.

A wonderful personal service in beautiful surroundings, with luxury accommodation and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. All inclusive was just that, including doing your laundry. Some trips were extra but transport was provided to meet the trip transport. We LOVED the safari day trip to Chobe in Botswana and the visit to the Falls was breathtaking.
The staff were friendly, helpful, polite and informative. The evening meal choices were restrictive and had no vegetarian option, but I got the impression that if we had asked for something different, it would have been provided. They even drove us the 30 minutes to their other property ‘Old Drift’ for lunch, when we asked what it was like, at no extra cost (this was luxurious too, by the Zambezi river).
There are elephants to see nearby; some can be seen close up when accompanied by the staff and you can feed them.
We loved our stay at Elephant Camp and were made to feel special. Just make sure you keep covered up to avoid mosquito bites. You need to take malaria tablets but we had no side effects from these.
We would highly recommend the Elephant Camp, especially if you love wildlife.

There is so much to love about Elephant Camp. We were welcomed by a staff member who sat down with us to work out what activities we would like to experience during our stay. (Most of these activities were included in our tariff) We chose the early morning Victoria Falls Tour, zip-lining, village tour, Sundowners at the gorge & of course the Elephant Encounter...(who knew there were 3 different ways to feed food pellets to elephants - The toss, drop & hoover methods) All the activities at Elephant Camp were amazing. This was our favourite accommodation on our African holiday. The rooms were roomy & really beautiful ...we loved our private deck with our own plunge pool. It was very convenient having the free laundry service. Loved the little family of mongooses that came to visit us every evening. All staff were so welcoming & very efficient & we really enjoyed the bar staff who were such good fun to hang with. The dining experience here was great. The menu was amazing & the food & service was of a very high standard. It was nice having the chef come out to meet us every night.

Elephant camp is absolutely amazing. From our first welcome by Rotendu and Himal, we immediately felt like family. Where to start? They made getting there a breeze. Some of us flew into Zimbabwe, and others of us flew into Zambia (Livingstone airport), and EC picked us up and helped keep everything smooth. The rooms were immaculate, mini bar stocked and snacks a plenty. They provide a laundry basket that they collect daily if you should choose to take advantage of that service (very helpful especially if you’re traveling further). The views of the sunrise from the room are breath taking. There’s a plunge pool, outdoor shower. The beds are so comfortable, and you’re left with a beautiful fable each night to read before drifting off.
The food was absolutely unbelievable. Our chef was so friendly, we saw him nightly for dinner. We tried kudu for the first time, and it quickly became a favorite (I have to break it to my kids that we can’t necessarily get that in the US, unfortunately). Everything he made for us was truly spectacular. So delicious.
The excursions were wonderful. We saw the falls (some friends did devils pool, we did the elephant encounter), and opted for the private safari which was an amazing experience. You can’t miss the sunset Zambezi river cruise btw!
We had the most amazing time. I hope to return again someday. Thanks to everyone at elephant camp for such a wonderful, welcoming, and memorable stay.

From the second we arrived to the final waves goodbye, the staff at Elephant Camp were absolutely superb. The accommodation was luxurious tented camp with stunning finishes and clean from top to bottom. There were considerate tidbits like mosquito repellent, bottled water in the mini bar, and toiletries. My absolute favourite was the outside shower!! The elephant interaction was truly special, but they really need to urgently update their educational video so that it aligns with their progressive views on animal conservation. Food was delicious, excursions were exciting and well organized, drinks were plenty and all-inclusive (the mini-bar too). View of the mist of falls was amazing (the falls are about a 12 minute drive from the camp). We are definitely going back and look forward to experiencing the warm service of the staff at Elephant Camp again!

From our arrival at the airport we felt so welcomed by the Elephant Camp team! On our arrival to the Camp we were greeted by staff who quickly welcomed us and promptly organised an itinerary for our stay which included a variety of activities that kept us busy and entertained. The accommodation and communal areas were beautiful and peaceful surrounded by trees and bushland with views of the mist from Victoria Falls and elephants walking through the parklands. The food was great with exceptional service from the friendliest bunch of people who always greeted us with the warmest smiles. We couldn't have thought of a better place to get engaged and thank all those that helped in making it happen. We have nothing negative to say about the Elephant Camp and can't thank everyone enough for the incredible time we spent there. We hope to see you all one day soon!

Unfortunately, we did not have the experience we were sold. Our tent had an indoor shower that was sealed closed and had been for sometime. When we inquired about it, it was suggested we use the outdoor shower or tub. We paid premium for this experience and functioning plumbing is expected. We were moved, but then continually questioned about our two day experience. The menu was bland and little variety. We never had interaction with the elephants. I ended up getting sick by somenting I ate and had to decline future meals. It was way over priced and did not offer the caliber of service we paid for.

Dear Guest, It’s truly regrettable that your experience did not live up to your expectations. We strive to go above and beyond ensuring our guest delight and this is reflected in the reviews we usually receive. For clarity sake, the shower was not sealed shut, but rather had a small leak in the shower door, that developed on the day of your check-in. The leak was sealed (as a temporary measure), enabling the shower usable. At no time during the stay did you make us aware of your illness or of your dislike of the food. Our chef meets each guest in camp and offers them the opportunity to comment on the menu and submit any requests they may have. It's unfortunate that you did not take up this opportunity to raise any issues. Once again, I sincerely apologize that we did not meet your expectations, but, on a positive note we look forward to hosting your traveling partner again, when she returns with her family, after what she describes as "an amazing life changing experience” in The Elephant Camp guestbook. Warmest regards, Wilma

Wild Horizons's Elephant Camp is not worth a visit - it's a MUST visit! What a beautiful place, set in truly breath-taking surroundings. Apart from the elegant and comfortable eco-friendly tents, every single member of staff provided us with friendly, efficient service. No stone is left unturned to make guests feel welcome. (And the respectful interaction with the elephants had us in awe.) All in all, a magical few days. We will be back! Carel and Liz.

I cannot help as I arrived by land - I got the visa in less than 5 minutes. Suggest you have a look at the cost differential between a single entry visa and a double entry (which allows you to enter Botswana or Zambia). The double entry was cheaper than the single entry.
