Tsowa Island is situated in the Zambezi National Park, a 56 000 ha game reserve which is also a renowned birding hot spot of 400 different species and home to lion, elephant, buffalo, giraffe, sable and numerous antelope. Zambezi National Park stretches from the Victoria Falls approximately 50 km upstream. Tsowa Island, 1.5 km long and 400m wide has never been inhabited and is fringed by lush forests. Guests are accommodated in stretch Bedouin style tents with timber frames and sides on wooden decks situated under massive Jackalberry trees, overlooking the Zambezi River. The outside deck area, which is also in the cool forest, has a dining area flowing onto a sunken fire pit which overlooks the river. The main area is linked to the pool area which overlooks the river and is situated in a sunny spot. Easy access to explore Victoria falls on a day excursion.

Set in the middle of a calm and slow section of the Zambezi River, Tsowa Safari Island is a breathtaking dreamscape for seekers of secrets hidden in savanna woodlands. Going to Tsowa was having a lucky chance to live out the escapism I had been longing for. The camp is elegantly tucked away under the canopy of the indigenous trees and boasted beautiful sunrises, which I was blessed to enjoy from the carefully considered privacy of my tent. The entire camp site has a focus on being sustainable and low waste as coexisting with the natural environment is becoming critically important in order to protect our planet and these fantastic places. Everyone at the camp was incredibly warm and I felt so welcome there. The staff were all masters of their work from expertly prepared meals to intuitive and well informed guides; sharing on even the smallest details of the local ecology which would have otherwise gone unnoticed. My favourite memories there all took place in the evenings. Watching the sunset on the river, campfires glowing with a familiar and homey crackling, and brilliant starry nights all accompanied by the gentle symphony of cicadas, owls and the gentle flow of the river. I am so thankful to everyone who made this trip what it was. All in all, it was an incredible holiday with memories I will remember, not in mind, but in heart.

This Island is seriously off the beaten track and I wonder if there are any other places quite like it. Your journey starts with a Game-drive down to the edge of the mighty Zambezi River, where you are met by an open boat and taken across to the Island. You can barely see where your boat will moor against the bank until you come around the corner. Once on the Island, you are taken to the most private and comfortable luxury tent tucked away on stilts with a view of the water flowing in front of you. You are instantly mesmerized by the sound of the water and the peace that envelops you. Once you recover from your daze, you move into the room where you test the bed and pillows - you sink into this blissful haze and your immediate instinct is to take a little nap. You are however intrigued by the bathroom which leads outside to an open shower. You immediately strip off your clothes and turn on the hot water. You stand there out in the open feeling as if you are the only person in the world, your birthday suite exposed to the sky - and yet totally private. Eventually you decide it is time to dine. You put on your evening gear and amble down to the communal area and the open fire crackling away while the stars come out one by one. After mulling over the days events and sipping on your wine you drift across to the dining room where you are served with a seriously tasty meal, well presented by the friendly and efficient staff. Your time on Tsowa is guaranteed to be too short...

This was our last stop before flying back , after several days enjoying the dust and heat of the savanna. And what a place this is!! Seeing, hearing and feeling the Zambezi river so close was like a blessing! The lodge is on an island that feels like an oasis. The main area and the tents are all built as if they were part of the canopy and they are so nicely fitted and with such magnificent views to the river, that it felt like being in paradise.
The service was a bit chaotic as we were told some staff had some last minute emergencies and had left , and here we found ourselves feeling like at home, setting the table or rearranging schedules and meals as if we were staff . There s nothing like enjoying improvisation ;-) ! Game was less spectacular than where we had been prior and you always have to cross the river to go for sightings, but our guide Boyd was very enthusiastic and we loved his sense of refined humor and the passion for his job . The lodge offers cruisers at sunset and walking safaris on the island itself which we enjoyed very much. And of course the monkeys, what naughty lot !

We spent three nights at this delightful resort and only wish it could have been longer. It was such a pleasure to wake up to the sound of hornbills, baboons, and the mighty Zambezi and watch the morning mist and fog slowly dissipate. With a limited number guests, everyone is made to feel very welcome. The staff are all knowledgeable, professional, and engaged.

The food was excellent and the chef catered to all our dietary needs. Above all the tranquility of the island and the beauty of Zambezi National Park make this the perfect spot to spend some time in the Victoria Falls region.

An upscale 5 star luxury bush lodge, positioned on an island in between Zimbabwe and Zambia!

My experience was absolutely amazing! The staff are so incredibly kind and polite. I felt like everything was catered perfectly to my liking!

The gourmet food was absolutely delicious.

The guides are so well informed and I learned so much about the wild game the live on and around the lodge.

My luxury tent was supplied with everything I needed, from the high end shampoo and conditioner to the well stocked fridge.

The design is so incredibly eco-friendly and well thought out!

Twosi Lodge comes highly recommended! Top rated!!!

This is a really authentic camp experience. The guys who run this camp are all lovely and we really felt they looked after us and helped us experience the wildlife. We cannot thank them enough for the attention to detail. The camp tents were really beautifully set up and there were enough opportunities to experience the game drives, visit the falls or opt for other activities.

This was my first visit to Tsowa but definitely not my last. From the moment we stepped onto the boat to transfer to the island we were met with friendly, efficient and highly knowledgeable personnel. The accommodation, catering, staff and facilities were excellent and we enjoyed a peaceful time in the middle of the Zambezi. An absolute must for any adventurer.

Incredible attention to detail in this luxury lodge from room comforts to fine dining. The location affords the best of the bush and scenic sunset cruises on the river. We enjoyed canoeing down the Zambezi in 2-man canoes with our family (youngest 11 oldest >70). The park has lots of elephant, buffalo, hippos and crocs. We saw lion several times on our 4 day stay. Our guide Stanley is a trove of knowledge about the local Flora and Fauna.

Our stay at Tsowa Island was nothing short of memorable, extraordinary, relaxing... I could go on.
From the moment we arrived via boat to the island we were whisked away into a tranquil oasis.
Gary & his team looked after us (and all guests) to a level that is hardly seen nowadays. The 'tents' had everything you needed (I'm not a camper at all). Morning flasks of hot water delivered for you to enjoy your morning coffee on the desk- watching the sunrise, listening to the animals, watching the great Zambezi River go by right in front of you.
The meals were excellent- 10/10- I actually asked for some of the recipes the tastes were that good!
What I loved also about this lodge that everything is catered for you and what you'd like to do.
We did the sunset cruise, morning fishing trip (including catching fish!) morning walk around the island and 2 afternoon safari's. Our guide Boyd for the safari's was excellent. On our last night he took us to a spot he knew by the river that elephants often drink from at night. Here we saw 6 elephants drinking water as the sunset set- it is something that will stay with us forever.
Once again thank you Gary and his team for taking such good care of us.
If you're thinking of booking- don't think- just do it- you certainly won't regret it :)

Hi Thibaut K, In addition to the Game Drives and River Cruises, there are also forest walks around the island available, canoeing down the Zambezi River, and then Game Walks in the Zambezi National Park, you can be as busy or as relaxed as you like:) With kind regards, Isibindi Africa Lodges
Answer from IsibindiAfrica

We usually offer 2 activities each day, either walking, game drive, canoeing or sunset cruise. So it would be dependant on how many guests are in camp. You would not be restricted to only 1 sunset cruise during your stay.
