Our stay at the Nguni Lodge in October 2024 great, the booking and specific requirements were set up easily through the online reservation and messaging team through Booking.com. The choices of room were amazing with both rooms facing the pool, we managed to take a quick swim in the hot weather whenever possible nearly everyday. The check in went smoothly, with us being allowed to access our rooms slightly earlier than allowed; the location is close enough to town for activities, but also very quiet at night for a good nights sleep. The breakfasts we had were filling, setting us up for our days filled with activities; we had dinner one night when there, the meals we ordered between us were tasty and well prepared by the chef. The Nguni team helped us with the booking of the sunset dinner cruise and Boma Dinner experience, both went ahead without hitch, we especially enjoyed the sunset dinner cruise as it was a birthday and a proposal wrapped into one. We will definitely recommend the Nguni Lodge and their team to anyone traveling to Victoria Falls, thanks for the special birthday treatment by the team.

Comfy bed. Clean room. Hotel staff were amazing. 100% recommended.
The hotel does wash+dry for $10 which isn't advertised and they will book activities on a tab which you can pay on exit. This is super convenient as you're not constantly dealing with money.

I had a well-sized room with a big bed. The room quality was good. It had a big bed with a mosquito net, a good aircon unit right over the bed and also an additional bed. The only thing that disturbed me was that the room had a cold concrete floor and no carpets.
The staff was super-friendly. They also explained very well how things work at the lodge.
The location was in an area full of other lodges, but I didn't see anything else around. The distance to the city center was 3 km. A taxi to the city or to the falls cost $5.
The breakfast was a freshly prepared English breakfast. It also had yoghurt, fruit and cereals available in a buffet. Also dinner was available at the lodge. It was reasonably priced (mains $10 - $1 and at least I had big portions.
The WiFi worked well.

I had high hopes for Nguni Lodge after reading the reviews and seeing the photos but was sadly left disappointed. The staff are excellent but the lodge needs to improve its overall standard for modern needs. The rooms could do with a chair or two in them. The only chairs were outside on the terrace and when it rained, the fabric got soaking wet and were not usable. I frequently had to lie on the bed during the day.. The rooms could also do with a fridge - the temperature was in the high 30s and having a cold drink to hand would have been wonderful. There was water supplied but this was 'purified' and left in a jug on a table. I didn't trust it at all and bough bottled water in the town. The public areas were clean and well maintained and the pool was most welcome after a hard day out and about. The breakfasts were pretty good but the evening meals were of a poor standard and not worth the money. Given a choice, I wouldn't stay here again.

Dear Grumpy-Weegie, Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your recent stay at Nguni Lodge. We appreciate all feedback, as it helps us continually improve our offerings and guest experiences. We’re delighted to hear your positive comments about our staff and pool area, as we take great pride in maintaining both to ensure a welcoming atmosphere for all our guests. However, we regret that certain aspects of your stay fell short of your expectations. While we understand the desire for a chair inside the room, our design emphasizes outdoor relaxation with comfortable seating on the terraces. That said, we will evaluate ways to enhance comfort inside the rooms, particularly during adverse weather conditions. Regarding the absence of an in-room fridge, we provide a fully stocked bar and a communal lounge area to ensure guests have easy access to cold drinks and refreshments. This setup not only fosters a sense of community but also aligns with our sustainable practices by minimizing the energy footprint of multiple fridges in individual rooms. Our purified water is produced onsite through rigorous filtration methods, ensuring it meets high-quality standards. We choose to serve it in reusable jugs to reduce single-use plastics and support environmental conservation. We regret if this caused any discomfort during your stay but assure you that the water provided is safe and carefully treated. Your comments about our evening meals have been noted, and we will share your concerns with our culinary team to assess and improve where needed. We strive to offer meals that reflect the local flavors and exceed guest expectations. We also noticed from other platforms that your reviews tend to lean toward areas of critique. While we welcome constructive feedback, we hope you can appreciate the unique qualities and sustainable efforts that establishments like ours work hard to achieve. Should you reconsider visiting us in the future, we’d love the opportunity to provide a stay that better aligns with your expectations. Warm regards, Kirsten Reeves

I selected Nguni Lodge from the internet as one of the more moderately priced lodges at super touristy Vic Falls that also had a number of positive ratings. We were delighted with this spot. It is in a quiet street in the suburbs but as it is a small town, close to everything--thank goodness for GPS, as although it is well signposted it is a bit of a trick to reach it from the main road! The bedroom was smallish with a huge square mosquito net over the large bed, which is nice because you don't feel claustrophobic. The bathroom was enormous and well equipped. Most of the rooms look out onto the charming garden and swimming pool. There is a little bar and sitting area and one could get a drink any time thanks to the friendly barman, Mr Blessed, if I remember right. Meals are served in the partially open restaurant. Food choices were limited but each item we tried was good, especially the fish. All the staff were exceedingly friendly and helpful and made sure we had everything we needed. The Lodge will make reservations for activities for you, which is helpful. It is locally owned and this modest, clean, and comfy place can be highly recommended.

This small lodge is really a very nice place to stay. The staff is very nice and helpful, the atmosphere in the garden and pool is relaxing. What could be improved is the light situation in the restaurant - not very cosy. The meat was a bit tough, but the other dishes were nice. The bed is a bit short, nothing for tall people but very good sleeping quality. And I don't know why they have asked for a prepayment of 100 % while it was agreed to pay only 50 % in advance. The issue could be solved. the taxi they have provided came in time and we could already move into our room in the morning. That was a nice treat. Be aware that you need a car in this location or a taxi to move around to the falls etc.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay of 6 nights at Nguni lodge. The people are warm, friendly and provide excellent service. Our room was very comfortable and we slept so well every night. The grounds and gardens are peaceful and pretty with a lovely small pool. Breakfast is freshly cooked to order with a good range of choices- everything we ate was delicious. I would highly recommend this lodge as a peaceful base when visiting Vic Falls

Nguni Lodge offers just 14 rooms so the service is very personal. We stayed in room 6 for 3 nights while in Victoria Falls. Clean and incredibly comfortable. The staff makes your stay very personal, and their complimentary concierge service was incredible booking an activity a day with transfers at very reasonable pricing. Air conditioning is a must as it was 102 degrees while we were there. The staff in the restaurant provided exceptional service and very well done meals...breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Their sirloin was one of the best we have eaten. The compound is very secure but close to downtown. We would definitely stay here again.

Stayed 2 nights at nguni lodge. The place is very well kept and clean. It is rustic which I think is part off it's charm. It's in quiet suburb of the town. Room overlooking the pool was large with aircon and fan to keep it cool when needed. Bed and linens all good quality and very comfortable. The staff are great, very helpful and organise excursions taxis . We walked the Falls, without guide and that are amazing. We did an evening cruise on Riversong, saw a few animals and enjoyed the peace and beauty of the river.

Very clean and comfortable units. Mosquito net and insect repellent provided. Very pleasant and efficient staff. Great variety at meal times. There is a seven & 11 convenience store within walking distance. Prices there are very reasonable. I would definitely stay at this lodge but bring a small coffee maker as one is not provided in the room. To get hot water in the dining area is almost as bad as milking a cow!

I don't recall seeing any braai facilities. This is not a self-catering lodge so they don't have facilities for preparing your own food. Breakfast is prepared for everyone. Lunch and dinner needs to be pre-ordered in advance so that the kitchen knows what to prepare for the day.
Hi its approximately 2 kms walk through the suburbs which is downhill and easy on the way down to the Falls but the return is uphill . This time of the year when not too hot it is very easy and recommended . Taxis and Shuttles are readily available .
There are more places to choose from in the Victoria Falls area.
