Beautiful outdoors . Quiet environment surrounded with Flora . Owner very friendly, workers too.
I loved the short stay .

Linen needs upgrade. This is a bush cottage so don’t expect more than that. Also don’t expect to see any animals for there’s none.

situated over 30 Km from Harare.. i loved this lodge's hamorny with nature. most exciting is pool located at the top of a rock outcrop. its fascinating. Canoening into the river and nature walks into the parking getting some good view of some grazing bush bucks. its a great place.

We took a chance on the self catering cottages despite reading the last review and we were pleasantly surprised. Management read the review and did something about it. The rooms were clean and so was the kitchen. Its really a beautiful place to be though we felt that their activities are overpriced.$15/person to see a few zebras and a couple of giraffes is a bit much. The highlight of our stay has to be the 30minutes we spent talking to the owner- Mr Senior. Hes full of stories... jokes too. Great place to go to get away from the craziness of the city plus the pool is amazing.

Visited the picnic area for braai as a day visitor. There is wide space for relaxing and playing games as a family, but the place looks like it has been neglected for a long time. The toilets need to be upgraded and water taps need attention. The drought has not been kind to them as water levels in the dam were at very low levels at the time of my visit, however this can change with some good rains falling.

They pride themselves on having nothing but the upmost care for the animals on their safari however this is a lie.

I visited here on a day trip with my family, we went on the safari, the safari tour guide was horrible and kicking the animals if they didn’t seem to have much ‘life’ to them. By the pond in the safari park there was a Zebra who seemed in very poor health and was laying on the ground, the safari tour guide kicked the zebra in the head in order for it to stand up. I questioned and asked if the zebra was okay as this is not usual behaviour for wild animals, the safari guide was insisting it’s all a show and the zebra is fine. 20 minutes later when we came to the end of our safari the SAME Zebra was dragged to the front of the safari and shot in the head!!! In the time we had left the zebras to view other animals the other employees had come, dragged the poorly animal and shot it in the head then just left it there for everyone to see!!!

I questioned this to the old man who seems to be the owner of the whole place, he stated it was not his Zebra and it had ran over the fence. I asked why did he not leave the Zebra as all the animals on the safari were wild and he would join the other Zebras, his response was ‘oh well, it’s done now’

This is appalling and I will never ever recommend this place to anyone. They should not be able to look after animals if they do not have the facilities or the heart to do it!!!

PLEASE PLEASE do not go here or give this facility your money if you care about animal welfare.

We booked in for 2 nights at the lodge, stayed in one of their rooms in the main lodge. Our host was Charles and he just went over and above to make us feel comfortable and made sure everything was accessible to us. We went canoeing on both days we were there, also an absolutely stunning experience. Their breakfast was presented beautifully and served with a smile by Charles himself. They do the best they can with what they have and it was truly a wonderful stay. Can’t wait to come visit again.

The rooms were very dirty, the people there were very rude and the owner was very rude. STAY AWAY, this place clearly doesn't have respect or any morals and i feel as if maybe you should go to another game park.

So we decided to do a weekend getaway for my birthday.Worst decision we have ever made. The road was horrible,it was probably worse than usual because of the rains, took us a long time to maneuver through the potholes or should i say ditches in the middle of the road. When we got there we were directed to funny looking unkept self catering cottages surrounded by tall uncut grass and it was difficult to park our car beside the cottages. Getting inside we got the shock of our lives.
Kitchen- utensils were dirty and most of them broken.Dirt filled kettle.Cutting board that was broken and filthy.
Toilet- creepy looking with not much aeration coming in,shower curtain that looked like a bacteria inhabitant.Weird looking towels that you might just find in prison toilets.
Bedroom-Worst room i have ever seen, even those $10 an hour short time motels are way better than what we encountered.Bedding was filthy with black small things inside the sheets..something literally jumped out when i opened the sheets to redo the bed.Horrible damp smell.Cob webs with spiders around the room.
Outdoor- Braai area was few metres away from the cottage with no veranda covering it and because of the rains it was wet so there was no way to have a braai.
Pool Area- the pool was the only thing that wasn't bad tho cant give it a 5star rating..the view you will be looking at is the only thing that made me smile.
#worst decision ever

I wedded at this lodge in 2005 and at tht tym it was immaculate well mantained and the landscaping was lovely, but to my dissapointment when I went back recently with my kids on a family outing to show them wer mom n dad tied the note I was shocked to see how this place is now run down.the place itself is not well mantained and everything is overpriced.we wanted to do a game drive wch was so expensive and we only managed to spot very few animals , just zebra eland and one girrafe.the game drive car itself was a disappointment.upon ordering lunch we wer told the food would take about an hour so we had to buy their overpriced biltong while we waited and wen the food finally came it wasnt worth the wait and it too together with the drinks was highly overpriced.if you ever decide to go there I suggest you pack your own picnic basket and dont expect to see much.
