I can’t speak more highly of Ballantyne’s Lodge. It was my first visit to Zimbabwe and stayed at the Lodge for 8 nights whilst on a business trip
The whole team are fantastic and nothing is too much trouble for them. From the moment you arrive, to the time you leave you are looked after and made to feel very comfortable . I loved the concept of the Lodge and it has such a relaxing vibe . The breakfast is freshly cooked to order and the evening meals delicious Thanks very much for looking after me and please can I have the same room when I return later in the year 😁

I’m a British engineer and stay in hotels all the time worldwide. This place is “cool” with excellent management and staff with a huge sense of humour which during these nasty lockdown times really cheers up ones day.
Their “ honesty bar” is well stocked with great SA wine, local and international beer. Breakfast can be healthy or you can get a super full English with poached eggs, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast , marmalade to help ones diet along haha. The chefs do some excellent home cooked food for evening meals if requested. Steaks, fish, oxtails ( that’s a cracking dish ) or more lighter cuisine and salads. It’s a relaxed atmosphere and great for courting couples, small business meetings and they have a private party room where you can let your hair down on special occasions. It was winter during my 5 week stay and 8 C at night - rooms have aircon and the lounge areas have open hearth fires to keep your tootsies warm. Room maids are efficient and rooms immaculately cleaned. They pay attention and know when you are in or out. No knocks on the door just as your dipping your toes into the bath or taking a shower. Compared to my usual 4 star ish city hotels I stay in I preferred this. You can hear a pin drop at night and get truly great comfortable accommodation. There’s a small supermarket nearby and some restaurants and if you get really stuck without transport they’ll run you down to the shop or bank. Marvellous. Cheers to all of you running the place. A credit to the hospitality industry !!! Andy S

I am a traveler who traveled and is traveling across our planet, Balentine Lodge is one of the best places I ever stayed. The setup, the location, the atmosphere, and foremost the staff and the owner Shirely. I stayed there for over two and a half weeks and the reply to all my requests was always yes and it included a smile. It was a home away from home in the true sense of it. To top it all is the food the two chefs are fantastic and the food is fresh and tasty either for breakfast or for dinner. There is only one place to stay in Harare and it's Balentine Lodge. Thank you Shirelly and the staff, I miss you all already!

I have used this fantastic lodge many times over the past 12 months for business visits. From day one I have been treated like a returning family member from all the staff. The rooms are all unique and very comfortable. The food is of a good standard and they always pull out all the stops to cater for my particular needs. If I ever visit Harare for pleasure I would most definitely stay there. Thank you Stephanie and all your wonderful staff.

Had another very enjoyable stay at Ballantynes Lodge, the team is dedicated to make your stay comfortable and relaxing in a beautiful and cozy environment. Special words for the chefs and team in the kitchen, the breakfast and dinner are healthy with diversity and always delicious. There is a sentence on a wall above the front door in the lobby that says" Arrive as a guest and leave as friend" - this is so true.

The lodge was a warm and welcoming place to stay, beautifully created surroundings, real coal fires to warm the air and very friendly helpful staff. The food is fantastic, and quickly served on request. The rooms are spacious and decorated to a high quality. The bed is huge and very comfy - I slept very well there. Highly recommend this lodge to anyone looking for a place to stay in Zim!

Ballatynes is a beautiful place to stay. An amazing combination of homeliness with a sense of luxury and all the benefits of a hotel- I am not sure I have have found such good blend of both these things anywhere in the world after travelling a great deal. The staff are kind in every way. We were cooked for and served by a really great chef. Self services drinks of most kinds available. The staff respond to any request promptly and with care. The layout is really restful with all sorts of comfortable nooks to nestle away in. The rooms are quiet and comfortable and, for us crucially have nice thick curtains for a dark room at night. Cannot recommend enough.

An amazing little gem of a retreat. Set in a quiet residential area with beautiful gardens and the most welcoming people. It feels less like a hotel and more like being welcomed in to stay with friends. The chef is incredible and you honestly feel as though you’ve known the guys all your life. Beautiful rooms too which are well maintained and stocked with everything you will need. I can’t wait to go back.
