direct location in the national park, from the tent you can observe the wildlife. the tent was very clean, toilet was separate to the shower, the dinner was grandiose, the staff extremely friendly. there is no running water in the shower, you call the staff member who brings a bucket of hot water, you can have more water at any time, this all works smoothly. as in all camps you have a huge choice to put together a lunch package. we can recommend the camp to anyone, especially sitting around the campfire at night makes the stay a wonderful experience

Kati Kati Tented Camp is in the middle of Serengeti National Park. It is consisted of tented cabins but they are all sturdy and "semi mobile" meaning they are well set up and, if you zip up tent well, not much worry about invasion of animals, insects etc. Break fas, lunch (if needed boxed lunch) and dinner are provided and are of very good quality, considering the environment. You can also buy beers and wines. Tents have showers with wash-basins, en-suit bathroom and shower. For the shower, you need to tell the supporting staff when you will take it so that they can carry 20 lt hot water for you in a bucket. 20L was enough for quick showers. As there is no sense around the camps, we managed to see Hyenas and a Giraffe while having dinner, breakfast etc. as well. After dark, you need to be escorted by a camp staffs between your tent and the main dining tent. Also, charging station is not in your tent but the camp provides one in the dining tent, so that you can charge. Very relaxing, in the middle of Serengeti. Highly recommended.

We had a great experience at Kati Kati!

This is a semi-permanent tented camp. We understand that the location sometimes moves season to season, but our location was situated a bit above a lake filled with flamingos, which provided lovely scenery and a wonderful place to relax after our game drives. We enjoyed a large private tent, with a regular porcelain toilet and a bucket shower included en suite. There was a communal fire each evening and fresh snacks (popcorn or roasted nuts and fresh plantain chips) around the fire, with wine and beer available for purchase (quite inexpensive). We enjoyed excellent meals here, including for the two vegetarians in our group. We also especially liked that, at this camp, the packed lunches were a "pick your own lunch items" after breakfast, which left no wasted food (at other camps, full pre-packed lunches usually resulted in our leaving certain items we hadn't wanted).

The camp was very eco- friendly, which we specifically noted in the showers. For showers, you let the staff know about 10 minutes before you're ready for the shower and they fill the bucket with hot water. There is enough water for several minutes, which is plenty as long as you're turning the water off while not in active use. The staff will wait outside the tent until you are done to conserve any leftover water, which does inadvertently encourage you to be expedient.

Overall, while not a "luxury camp," we thought this was a wonderful experience and would return again!

Although this camp was less luxuriuos compared to others during our trip we liked the atmosphere and the people the most. Everyone was going the extra mile to ensure we had a great time. While in one of the camps we could only have a cold water bucket shower very early morning here they immediately provided its for us, evet at 05.15 saying: we are here for you. That incredible feeling the staff provided us every day. Manager Ajubo was among the hardest working of all and you could tell everyone there enjoys working at Kati Kati. We had incredible fun with some of the staff (making lion sounds) etc. The location was convenient for the western and central part and the view over the plain was great. What I also like is that you can select your food for your breakfast and lunchbox wich means you eat what you like and dont have to throw anything!

I had never slept in a tent camp and I didn't know exactly what to expect but I really left my heart here. The camp has tents equipped with every comfort (toilet and shower included) but it is the atmosphere that makes everything exciting, completely immersed in nature you have the opportunity to enjoy all the beauty of the Serengeti. In the common tent there are several charging stations for cameras, telephones,... here the excellent breakfasts and dinners served by the very kind camp staff are consumed. In the tents there is both a toilet and a shower which is prepared on request. To go to the common tent in the evening you are accompanied by staff with torches for safety. At night and in the morning it is incomparable to listen to the sounds of nature and the sounds of the animals that pass around. A big compliment to Emanuel and his team who with great commitment make the stay unforgettable.

Probably our most basic stay of the trip - 2 nights. I was so glad we stayed here however - very comfortable but the electricity in the tents was for the lights - and not to charge phones etc. We charged our phones during our meals - plenty of places to do that in the main tent. Everything was tented on the property. The tents have cold water but no hot - when you want a shower you work with the folks there to bring you a big bucket full of hot water and you get your 3-minute shower. Perfectly fine and worked well. It was fun. Loved the simple of this place.... dinner and breakfasts were wonderful! The people were great too. Enjoyed our 2 nights here. We felt we were immersed in the Serengeti here. I expected to see animals roaming in the area but did not. There is a watering hole nearby.

Our stay at the Mara KatiKati Tented Camp was better then expected. This camp was more remote then others and solar powered. The tents were spacious with comfortable bedding and a private bath with a bucket shower. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the shower but I actually did not mind at all, the staff adds warm water to the bucket as you need it. The food was plentiful and so delicious! The staff and management work very hard, welcome you with a smile and always making sure we were well taken care of. Do not hesitate to stay here! Asante sana to the camp team!

This tented camp went beyond any of my expectations. We stayed for two nights during a 10 day safari trip. The bed and pillows were the most comfortable we had the entire trip. The entire set up of the tent was very spacious and had a fully functioning toilet, sink, and shower (staff would fetch water). The chef did an amazing job creating a spread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The rest of the staff made us feel completely at ease and comfortable. We heard lions in the distance a couple of times and a buffalo even took to scratching its bum on our guides tent! The only downfall was that we couldn’t stay there longer.

tented accommodation in the middle of the Serengeti (no fence) I would describe this as glamping.
A sturdy tent very clean and had safe water for you to drink and brush your teeth with. A touch and a whistle in case of an emergency. A separate flushing toilet and shower area to the back of the tent. To use the shower you had to request for warm water to be put in your bucket and then it was a two handle on chain pulley system to get the water flow and temperature you wanted. Unfortunately by the time they bought the water to us it was too late as we were meeting Justin for dinner. So we requested hot water again after dinner as we were leaving at 5am so had to shower before bed. Unfortunately that resulted in us having a cold quick shower. We noticed a rip in the door of our tent which we reported and they took very seriously and glued it right away. Dinner was a buffet but they bring it to your table and was delicious. We don’t have breakfast as we had a 5 am pick up but they did is tea or coffee (which was instant 😝)

When leaving your tent or going back when it’s dark you have to be escorted by a member of staff and you use your touch to get their attention.
Dinner was in the main tent which was open at the front over looking the plains. Food was a buffet which they came around and served to you at the table. They said after dinner they usually do a bonfire but due to the rain and it being damp they couldn’t do it.

They pack you a packed lunch for your day safari but this let us down maybe having a pick and mix 5 items per person would result in happier customers and less waste.

dish by dish. All staff were lovely.

We stayed there for 2 nights. It was the perfect stay after the safari. The staff was great and the tents were very nice. They provided bucket showers with hot water upon request, they prepared it in less that 15 minutes. The food was also very tasty and abundant. Since you cannot walk by yourself at night, they immediately would come to you should you need to do so. But the best part was the landscape and the immersion in nature. A great place to stay to really live the Serengeti.

I'm sure they do but best to contact the camp directly or ask your tour leader to do so.

Hi You are right in observing that there are no mosquito nets in the tents at Kati Kati Camp. We did the Simba Safari and out of all the camps we went to in the 8 days the 2 nights at Kati Kati were the only ones with no mosquito nets. The tents are large and have mesh over all the windows. The door is a zip so lift and shut quickly. The catering tent is open all the time so when having dinner make sure you have plenty of Deet spray on you. We took plenty and my partner only got bitten a couple of times. I was lucky and did not get bitten. My advice to you and being someone who has been on safari a lot,‘I would contact your agent and ask them to make the request of the camp to have nets put up in your tent. But do take your own too. They are not heavy in the case. Sorry I cannot be of more help. It’s an amazing experience and adds a great touch to a safari. Regards Peter
