Really wasnt sure what to expect and pleasantly surprised. Situated 30km outside of the Serengeti NP, the camp still feels "in the wild" and the whistle given with your room key and the need to be escorted from your room to the restaurant area reminds you that there are a few wild animals about. Our room was a super mud hut, spotlessly clean and well decorated. Yes on one night no lights or warm water, but remember where you are and bring a torch and man up when you take a shower.

The restaurant, built on a hill with panoramic views provided very good, tasty food and had the luxury of 70mps down load wifi so great for face time.

Staff excellent and all joined in for the singing and presentation of a beautifully decorated birthday cake for my wife.

Top place and one to check out.

We received a very warm welcome and some lovely juice upon arrival.
We loved our spacious 'tent' with 4 poster bed. The view across the plane was amazing!
When it's dark you need to be escorted to the restaurant. You'll have a choice between a meat or a vegetarian dish. The first night, we felt the portion was small, whereas the second evening we had a big portion of meat.
Breakfast boxes were provided with lots of food to keep us going during the day, which was good as we didn't want to pay £12.50 per person for a packed lunch.
Please note that you'll have to pay £2.50 tax per person per night and an additional 3% for your stay if you want to pay by card. It isn't a cheap stay, but staying in the Serengeti will cost you a lot more.

We had an incredible stay at Ikoma Wildcamp where we experienced amazing hospitality from their wonderful staff. They made us feel at home from the time we arrived to our departure, for them nothing was too much trouble, they kept on asking what we wanted. The lodge is not separated from the park and we had Maasai guards to escort us as we moved from our room to the common areas and back. Our elegantly furnished room had a lovely view and a patio from where we had beautiful sunsets.
The food was tasty (we had breakfast and dinner at camp, and packed lunches on safari) but it is the people that hosted that made our stay special.

When we arrived there, we were very kindly welcomed with a welcome drink and stayed in a super tent which was beautifully prepared with a large bathroom and shower. The food and the service were also very good. When it gets dark, a security guard escorts you to the restaurant and back again. The food was good. All in all, expectations exceeded by far.

We were struck by the beautiful views of the surroundings bushland from the camp. We slept in beautiful tented rooms that are designed like individual cottages. The food was great and we enjoyed the service from their ever friendly staffs. We had charming Maasai warriors escort us to and fro the main common area to our room because wild animals roam in the nearby bushes.
Its a very homely serene place to stay

We stayed at this unique lodge as pert of our Tanzania safari for 2 nights and our stay was very pleasant. The tents and mess are set harmoniously as one with nature with no obstacles so that animals pass freely through the camp. The tents open to great views in all directions! The room was perfect with hot water on arrival and a very comfortable bed.
We had all our meals at/from the camp and they were all very good with very charming people.
Its was worth every penny

The camp is in an ideal location with awesome views that has wild animals despite being outside the main Serengeti National Park. Remember to always use the guards when moving between your tent to the common mess. Staff were professional and wore beautiful smiles at all times.
Our self contained room was spacious and has all the comforts that one would expect in the middle of the African savanna. A clean toilet/bathroom, comfy bed and a varendah overlooking the open bush perfect for watching the sunsets.
The food was very good, actually much better than we expected.

It was a pleasant surprise to find Ikoma Wildcamp set up in such a secluded spot. We found Beka and his team waiting for us, they showed us to our tent, sitting on a raised platform, followed by a tour of the place. Our room was lovely – a comfortable bed and bucket shower and flush toilet (this is in the middle of nowhere). The tents have retractable sides that are raised during the day and lowered at night for privacy.
We spent a terrific two days doing early morning/late afternoon game drives when animals are bountiful. Beka and his team took excellent care of us ensuring we were happy at all times. Food was delicious and abundant and the chilled evening beers were smooth.
Thank you Beka for a really enjoyable time.

The tented camp is one of the nicest places that we stayed in in Tanzania. The tent rooms are neat and have all the amenities that we would have wanted on safari. We loved the food, particularly breakfast and dinner which were fab! The packed picnic box prepared by the chef was great too. We were struck by the wonderful hospitality extended by staff. They were so friendly and genuinely caring to the kids.
We had a great time on this unforgettable family trip.

Very comfortable and spacious rooms. Wildlife really does come through the camp, especially at night and during the migration. They offer a night drive which is well worth the trip as the extremely knowledgeable driver is fantastic at spotting and identifying the many and varied things you will see, much of which is inactive during the day. Food is great and staff friendly and helpful. Be aware steep steps to the restaurant are not for everyone.
