Immerse yourself in the Great Migration at Olakira Migration Camp. You will feel the earth vibrate during brave winter crossings of the mighty rivers in the north, or be moved beyond measure by the mass summer calving on the south's grassy plains. Olakira follows the massive herds of wildebeest to two spectacular locations in the north and south of the Serengeti National Park. Home from December to March is the southern Serengeti, where herds of wildebeest calve simultaneously and the plains throng with new life. As the dry days of winter arrive, Olakira relocates north to the confluence of the Mara and Bolongonja rivers for spectacular game viewing at the Mara River itself.

Being in Ndutu area this time of the year is already special; big herds of wildlife grazing away. However staying in a camp like this makes it even better. Great staff, smiles all around, hot showers, comfy beds, delicious food and great fun with the other guests at a big dinner table. Superb!

I have to say that my recent stay at Olakira Camp was simply superb. The camp is brilliantly located so that one can see the wildebeest migration. The wilderness " vibe'' was superb because one could hear the sounds of the bush at night. My guide Kanel was superb. He made sure that I saw so many amazing things. This was already my 27th safari but I was still astonished by what I saw. I even managed to see 4 lions in the trees. I also managed to see no less than 10 new species of birds. The tents were comfortable and the service was excellent. The food was of a high standard. I will probably return.

Hello, Many thanks Africanman_840 for your hugely positive review of your recent stay at Olakira Migration Camp. This time of year the camp is perfectly located to access the herds as well a the incredible wildlife around Ndutu and then in June the camp moves up north to Kogatende to catch the crossings. Delighted to hear you enjoyed your guide’s company and he managed to introduce you to a few new species! Come back and see us again The Olakira Migration Camp Team

Everything was perfect. I don’t know where to start...the camp overlooks the game reserve, we had a giraffe wake us up one morning which was magical. The food and drink was over and above our expectations - very creative chef. And the game drive itself - the guides are super knowledgeable (shout out to our man Stevie! 🙃), we were there during the migration and were blown away. We even managed to spent time with some lazy lions hanging from trees. Don’t think twice - Asilia is simply the best. I want to now visit all their camps now :)

This place is not a permanent camp but the accommodations are incredible. It felt like it was permanent but most important is that you are in the middle of all the action. The staff was incredible and would cater to anything we wanted. If you want serious wildlife action this is the place to go to.

If you are looking for a place to disconnect and enjoy wildlife at its best while enjoying good food and a confortable tent : this is the spot ! The dinners around the fire camp at night time with the other guests, the early morning tea brought to our room, the little snacks during safaris, everything was so perfect ! We had 2 wonderful guides who knew were and how to spot the wildlife : Patena and Steve with who we saw all the animals we dreamt of seeing while we organized the trip. The car was open and the best to be close to nature compare to the one used by &beyond in this area. The nights surrounded by all the hyenas screams, zebras running around and all the other animals around our tent was just magic, is it a once life time experience which we will never forget. We also did a air-balloon trip which was amazing, I am actually afraid of hights but not during this trip, the breakfast after in the bush was so lovely, I highly recommend it if it is not to foggy , cloudy so you can see the migration from the sky. All the people from the camp were so kind, we were extremely sad to leave and cannot wait to come back. Thank you for everything Dickson and all @Asiliateam, the @TrueAfrica for the organisation. We are dreaming of going to the next migrational camp in Mara this summer if we managed to come :)
