We stayed at Ngorogoro, Namiri and Olakira, and since one has to be the favorite (even though they were all excellent) Olakira was my favorite. It was the perfect way of feeling like things were very rustic while also not being that rustic. It’s a tent, technically, although it’s built on a platform and has the amenities you’d expect from a 5-star resort. It’s just rustic enough to feel like you’re roughing it, without actually having to rough it. There’s not AC, but there’s hand-chipped ice. Our guide for this camp was Lenga, who was fantastic. He really had a focus on photography and helped us get great pictures and quickly picked up on the things that we were interested in and catered our game drives towards our interest, but also introduced us to new things that we didn’t even know we were interested in until we started to learn about it! ‘Ndutu was an incredible landscape as well.…
We visited Olakira Camp in March 2022. From the moment we arrived we felt warmly welcomed and that never changed throughout our stay. Our tent was amazing, spacious, very clean with all the comforts of home only way better with the endless starlit sky, sounds of hippos, lions, hyenas, elephants and birds lulling us to sleep at night. The nightly campfires with other guests were great. Chef John and his team created amazing meals with beautiful presentation. Godfrey, you are the ultimate bartender with an attention to detail that is unmatched. Jackson, thank you for all of your amazing care and being so helpful. Samson, your hospitality, kindness and exceptional attention to detail will never be forgotten. Goodluck, our safari guide, was amazing combining his expertise with humor making our game drives always fun and enlightening. Ridi and Moses, you guys are the best! You lead this team of amazing people with seeming ease and perfection. If you are ever in the Serengeti and are looking for a camp, Olakira is for you. I highly recommend this camp!!…
Beautiful camp, amazing safaris, excellent location, great wildlife and game rides, but the staff is what made this a truly unforgettable experience. They truly made every effort to make the stay enjoyable and memorable Would definitely recommend
From the moment my sister and I arrived it was nothing short of pure magic! The Olakira team offers a level of service that will not disappoint. The rooms are beautifully done and very comfortable. Mr. Jackson - you took such great care of us we cannot thank you enough. Chef John - you and your team are so wonderful. The food was delicious every single meal. At times we can be somewhat picky and we left every meal so full & happy. Samson - From the very first second we met you, you felt like home. Your kindness and sweet spirit made us very comfortable and we will never forget you. Thank you for always making us feel like the only people in the world. Everyone should be so lucky to know some just like you. We are so glad we do! 🙂 The game drives were amazing! We love Goodluck! It is beyond impressive the incredible amount of knowledge a guide must possess about the area, climate, local cultures, speaking multiple languages, botany, countless number of animal species all the while keeping clients safe and spotting wild animals all over the Serengeti. It’s no small feat. Goodluck was so smart, kind, patient knowledgeable, HILARIOUS & worked very hard to give us the safari we hoped for. Thanks Professor Goodluck…until we meet again. Thank you Olakira team! Ridi, Moses, John, Godfrey, Samson, Jackson, Goodluck, Sebastian and countless others. You are the real reason our time there was more than we could have ever hoped for. We cannot wait to visit again and tell others to come see you as well. We Miss You Already! 🇹🇿❤️…
