All crew members (incl. our guide Nathan) are extremely intent, friendly, kind and not obtrusive at all. We had such a warm welcome everytime we came back to the camp and the campfire every evening is perfect for a drink and chats with the other guests. Also the variety and quality of the food was great. The huge, luxury tents...

Olakira Camp did not disappoint. With excellent food and great tented accommodation, this was the perfect place to spend 3 days of my trip to Tanzania. The wildlife viewing was excellent and the camp staff wonderful. During my stay, we were primarily looked after by Pascal who met us after each drive to check we had had a good time....

Well managed, caring staff, great food, plenty of libation, nice showers, well appointed, and a very comfortable bed. What more could you want after spending a day watching and enjoying the sites while on safari.

We spent 3 nights at Olakira Sept 30 - Oct 3, 2016. The camp is situated near the Mara River and we could see the river from our tent. It was a convenient location as there were several crossings while we were eating or resting in our tent. We'd hear the call, "they're crossing" and run to the jeeps and...

We stayed at Olakira in late December and had an incredible time! The staff did a fantastic job turning a mobile camp into absolute luxury. I never expected a king size bed and hot showers while camping on the Serengeti! The food was great, whether eating in the dining tent or packed up for a picnic while out on a...

We stayed here for four nights just as the rains were finally starting (six weeks or so late). So we arrived to dust, and left in mud. In both extremes, the place handled everything amazingly, with gumboots and umbrellas supplied, constant cleaning of our shoes for us, and generally unflappable service. Because of the rains, we didn't end up seeing...

An odd way to title a review but this/these guy(s) are good. Roasted lamb, roasted pork, sides, soups, breakfast, box lunch, all were tasty and plentiful. As tent camps go, this is only the second one I've ever stayed in. Mindful that this is glamping and not camping. We slept on a king size bed not a cot. I did...

The experiences shared by the other contributors describe a superlative experience which is very true. In my opinion the highlight was the focus on the experiences of the guests. It is amazing how much attention they pay to the individual requests of the campers. The guides were well experienced and cater for your tastes. As is consistent with most of...

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. The team are amazing and will go out of their way to make your stay fantastic. Special mention to John the chef whose cooking was fantastic - I loved his mama only food. The beds were amazing and bucket showers very hot. We didn't see loads of game due to a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Immerse yourself in the Great Migration at Olakira Migration Camp. You will feel the earth vibrate during brave winter crossings of the mighty rivers in the north, or be moved beyond measure by the mass summer calving on the south's grassy plains. Olakira follows the massive herds of wildebeest to two spectacular locations in the north and south of the Serengeti National Park. Home from December to March is the southern Serengeti, where herds of wildebeest calve simultaneously and the plains throng with new life. As the dry days of winter arrive, Olakira relocates north to the confluence of the Mara and Bolongonja rivers for spectacular game viewing at the Mara River itself and around the Lamai Wedge. ... more   less
