We stayed at CBD Hotel for one night at the end of our trip as it was fairly close to the airport. Upon arrival, we received a warm and friendly welcome from the reception staff, along with a refreshing glass of fresh juice at check-in

Our standard non-smoking room on the 4th floor was comfortable, with a good bed and no noise disturbances. The highlight for me was the powerful shower, which I had really missed throughout our trip!

For dinner, we ate at the hotel’s restaurant, Mumbai Spices. The service was good, and the food was enjoyable. In the morning, we had a quick breakfast before heading to the airport. There was a decent selection of continental and hot options.

While the hotel is technically around 20 minutes from the airport, it actually took us 45 minutes by taxi due to traffic, so it’s worth allowing extra time if you have a flight to catch.

I generally don't write reviews but I spent a lot of time looking at these comments when deciding where to spend several nights in Dar es Salaam for a conference. CBD is not a fancy or cookie-cutter sterile "could be anywhere in the world" environment like most hotels run by the usual multinational hoteliers. If that's what you want, go there. I like to stay local.

CBD has a very friendly, safe, clean, professional, local vibe and extremely kind staff who will work to find anything you need, in case it's not immediately available, or even if it's some random item you need for a presentation and wonder where to find it in Dar es Salaam.

The linen is very soft, pillows great. Bed very comfy. The towels could be more ample. The shower had great hot water and pressure. The aircon is a bit loud but it seems like it is everywhere.

I want to give special mention to doorman Yohane, reception manager Siaz (not sure I am spelling this right), and the waitress Magdalena who was efficient and had a good memory for favorites! They were all stellar in different ways. They really showed they cared about the guest's priorities. Benson was also very good and Ibrahim, too.

The breakfast buffet was fresh and awesome. I am really not a breakfast eater but the Indian options in addition to the usual morning items were great. Wonderful. I loved every other meal I had except the cheese and tomato which had mayo, blah, never like mayo. I tried the Indian food several times for dinner (different curries, samosa, soup, keer, yum), the continental (veggies and more). Huge and varied menu. Delicious.

The last day I finally got to try the spa which was great. A serious national football team from a nearby country stayed there toward end of trip and gave a great vibe. Hope they won.

One of the reviewers here mentioned Uber in a somewhat negative light. I found the drivers to be really great though sometimes it's true that rides got dropped occasionally so plan a bit ahead if you have to be somewhere at a certain time. They were overall excellent though.

Asante sana CBD. Blessings to you all, and to your beautiful country.

I normally stay in mid-range hotels and this hotel is most likely the best I have stayed in (I travel to many African countries for business).
The food was great, staff very helpful and I ended up having all my dinners here due to the great Indian cuisine (I am not Indian though).
I presented training meetings at TANESCO and this hotel was walking distance.

In overall the hotel was very nice, the staff was extremelt friendly, rooms were clean and the pool and bar was a nice addition.

The pickup from the airport in the middle of the night was smooth and when we left to safari early morning they even packed breakfast for us.

There was not much stores or restaurants closeby or we just didnt spot them. There was a mall though in a short walking distance where you could find all the essentials.

We stayed at CBD for 3 nights 11/12/19June 2021 before & after our Serengeti trip. On our way to Dar es Salaam , at Nairobi airport we got a message asking why our booking was cancelled , our booking was not cancelled . It was a mix up at the Hotel as they looked at the 1st booking , this created unnecessary stress for us as transfers were also arranged with the Hotel & our connectivity en route was also limited. The worst part was when we arrived after midnight no one apologised & no time during the 3 days did we see a Manager who apologised/explained what happened. Breakfast was also very limited & the rooms need some attention as aircons were noisy , sheets had holes in them , toilet seat & dustbin in bathroom worn & struggled to activate the TV. Stayed in 2 different rooms.

On the up side CBD is only about 15mins from the airport , the common areas were well maintained & Joyce & Karin in particular were very helpful . The hotel is close to some of the well known churches & tourist attractions. It's also a short walk from the Ferry terminal to Zanzibar which takes an hour to cross.

Not somewhere we would stay again.

I had a beautiful stay at the CBD Hotel.
The employees were very accommodating and attentive to my needs, especially Mr Iddi Porter and Benson.

If you are in Tanzania to carry out business within Dar es Salaam, the CBD hotel is very convenient, affordable and easily accessible within the town and from plus to the airport.

Me and my husband came to stay for 2 nights and the welcome and service was amazing, really friendly staff who helped with all aspects of the stay! We needed to stay an extra 4-5 hours due to our flight being later in the evening and they gave us another days stay for a really good price! Inclusive breakfast was delicious - had a good variety of food including south Indian food!
The room was clean
