I would like to thank you for the time we have spent four points hotel in Dar es salam. it was really nice time because of the great hospitality. but we would like to express our appreciation specially to Mr. Pankaj ( the Chef) and his team. it is not only about the quality of food which was great but also his hospitality that make us feel like home. we have stayed in four points for two-week last year and to be honest the main reason that we came again this year is the Chef Mr. Pankaj. we as Platinum Marriot Members will make sure that when we travel to dar es salam either for business or for vacation to choose four points hotel.
My wife and I had a lovely weekend gateway recently and we were amazed by the changes. From the moment we arrived to the time we checked out we were really taken care of. Augustine at the front desk is a real gem. He reccommend we dine at thier renowned Seafood Bar terrace restaurant and we were not disappointed. Rooms are spacious and clean and with the Dar heat the AC is a treat. Wifi could be improved however that's not a deal breaker.
Our family stayed here for 3 nights and most people working here are not wearing masks, they don't even do a temperature check at the front entrance. You can't get people sick then scale back on your services then blame your guests for getting a cough. It seems like a double standard that you are playing. Maybe the hotel should find better ways to keep people safe because we did not see it during our stay. You need more than hand sanitizers, you need to social distance and wear masks. It's the workers at the hotel that are not following proper protocols.
From the front desk staff, to the kitchen staff, the waiters and housekeeping. This hotel has a huge problem with timely service. It does not meet the international standard of the Sheraton brand. This is due to incompetence of the staff that are currently working there! I stayed at this hotel for almost 3 weeks and while i enjoyed the room there were a few things that stood out that i felt i needed to talk about. On various occasions i was met with ignorance and incompetence. The staff at the restaurant late at night are very slow and sometimes don't answer the phone. As a business traveler working late at night and with no options for food outside after 10pm it was imperative that I get food service late at night. I had to walk to the kitchen many times to speak to the chef directly and the staff that were supposed to be on duty were mostly sleeping. This is not an experience i should have had. On two different occasions I had to yell at the staff to move their rear- ends with my food. At one point i caught a staff member lingering with my breakfast on the first floor rather than bringing it to my room. On another occasion I had called the front desk to ask housekeeping to come clean our room and two hours later after 4 or 5 phone calls and yelling over the phone they finally arrived. This is another experience i was not supposed to have. The housekeeping took two hours mostly everyday, and we didn't even ask for full service we just needed water. The housekeeping was awfully slow and sometimes they would leave our door open for an hour while they would leave to go get a garbage pale, and disappear. I even tipped them in hopes they would move quicker but nothing worked. They are just super slow. I also had to wait 3 weeks for the phone in my room to be fixed because the guy was too lazy and it only got fixed a day before i checked out. While the manager is very nice and did do his best to accommodate us (which we appreciate) he has a few people that he needs to get rid of, or people will not stay that long at the hotel. Agostino at the front desk that likes to sleep during his shifts The overweight lady at the dining room late at night, super slow Rashid the guy who is slow and rude and has a bad chip on his shoulder. and there are a few more that he needs to catch on his own. This place can be very good if he gets rid of the staff that are ruining it for everybody.…
Incredibly accommodating manager and staff, really appreciative; very much go out of their way to help, for example, Vinay the head chef - had a wide ranging breakfast package ready for us at 4:30am for when we left for a safari day trip; manager assured we could choose whatever we wanted to be ready to take. Also at breakfast they came to offer us some fresh coconut juice just for us. Superb hospitality and will definitely stay again when next in Dar!
