This is not a luxury hotel by any means it’s just adequate or serviceable. One concern is being locked in the building behind a steal cage and needing to be let out by a guard. Also, I don’t drink alcohol but no alcohol is allowed in the hotel or guests. This hotel is like a religious facility rather than a hotel.

The worse hotel I have ever been to, whereby you can not take your guest to your room, very much of archaic behaviour it is not a place to recommend to Buseness travelers. It’s not worth the money, you have many beautiful places to stay in, Tanzanite is not one of them.

I am a frequent traveller to Tanzania because of work and it was the first time i stayed in this hotel. My bad experience started with the airport pick up. I was arriving at 1AM so i arranged for a hotel airport pickup. Tired and exhausted, i had to wait for more than an hour for the hotel car. They said he was waiting for me in T3 which doesnt make any sense to me because i gave them my flight number and the boards in the airport shows which flight arrives in which terminal. So after more than an hour, driver came to T2 and asked me to walk until T3! They let me wait for long, then i had to walk and pull my luggage to T3. I was dead tired and had to wake up early to catch my meetings. But the noisy AC didnt even allow me to sleep peacefully and at some point it wasnt functioning well and made the room warm. Sleepless, i got up early to prepare for the long day. I asked for an iron and ironing board which I had to follow up for 3 times! This hotel does not have room service. They can help you order from some restaurants, but make sure you have cash. I didn’t have shillings and asked the hotel to pay for what i wanted to order and charge it to my room. They agreed but will charge me 15%. Funny. So i left it and just bought food myself outside. Rooms are a basic and a bit dated. Breakfast is ok, nothing special. Same breakfast everyday. Location is central but the surroundings are not very nice. Overall, it was a terrible experience. I do not see myself coming back neither i will recommend it to anyone. There are a lot of better hotels in DAR.

We stayed at the Tanzanite our first night we entered the country. Our flight arrived late at night and they picked us up and quickly got us to the Hotel. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable and just what we needed after 24 hours of travel. They also offered a great breakfast. The staff was very helpful and we will definitely stay there again.
