I had a very nice time when I stayed at South Beach Resort for seven nights. The highlights were the beautiful environment, the wonderful food and the entertaining music on the weekend. The Resort is right on the beach which is beautiful and clean. All the rooms face the beach which means you can sit on the balcony and take in the view.
The menu is extensive and reasonably priced. The food was always well prepared and delicious. On one occasion the kitchen was really busy and I had a bit of a wait for my meal. The service was always friendly and efficient.
On the weekends the resort is open to the public so they come and enjoy the environment and the food service. The music and dancing was very entertaining and everything became quiet and peaceful again well before my bed time.
At on point the air-conditioner in my room began leaking water. I spoke with the supervisor and within a few minutes the electrician came and fixed the problem.
Overall I would rate the resort very highly. One thing they could improve on would be to have a larger and more reasonably priced bottle of drinking water available.

The accommodation was not as asked. Kitchen and bar closes both at 9.30am. Telephone, hot water and wifi issues were very bothersome. Food is over priced. Lack of coffee maker in the room. Not sea view.

Excellent food!! Kudos to the chef and Manager . The management went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and wants. The staff are attentive and courteous. Residents can use outdoor facilities till late and they keep the bar and kitchen open until you’re done. We truly had a great weekend. Thank you and Keep it up!!

It's an ok place to chill but you wouldn't come here for the food. The menu is promising but the product not great. Tried the veg Samosa, they were 90% corn. The Chilli calamari was simply rolled in chilli sauce, it was as good as the picture attached depicts. :( The Greek salad had some type of cheese Kurd on it, but it was not a Greek salad by far. It's more a burger and chips resort where you can de-stress while the kids run around

With office closing for the holidays, our Team leader decided to treat us to a "Team Building" at the pool. Staff are welcoming and pool kept clean. They have a play area for kids as well. You can also take a walk to the beach and catch some waves. Just note the disclaimer at their barrier wall...

Stayed there for one day with family. I am very happy with food, menu variety and polite staff. Special Thanks to Mr Bhushan Matkar Sir. We enjoyed our stay. It was relaxing atmosphere and staff is very polite and attentive. You must sit and relax their beachfront shacks late evening. You will definitely detox your mind by listening sound from the sea and wind.

Nice hotel and really helpfull and Nice staff. Fantastic Beach and pool at the hotel. Room were Nice, bathrooms a little old. And a Nice Big balkoni in the room.
Good food in the restaurant and lovely breakfast with fruits, omelet, surssages and bread. And fresh juice.

AS we know, pictures online can be deceiving!! This it the case of South Beach. The place is in dire need of some work, in all areas. The rooms are old, our toilet leaked and I told staff 2 times and nothing was done. There was no hot water for two days or when the rest of the people arrived who were attending a convention there. The food was ok, at best.. All the staff looked miserable. And about 8 to 10 folks came down with a stomach bug, from what no one knows. Most were sick for 2 to 3 days.

The less said the better. Loud all night. Terrible food. Rundown and delapidated rooms. One of the most uncomfortable stays I have had anywhere in the world. The music was so loud that could not sleep. I went to complain and they told me I should stay somewhere else. Well next time I will and I suggest the same to anyone.

We usually ask guests to depart from the resort anywhere between 3.5 to 4.5 hours before the flight to allow enough time to cross the local ferry or take the back road. During the day the city is very stuff with traffic. At night it is not bad at all.
There are more places to choose from in the Dar es Salaam area.
