Firstly, this riad is exactly how it looks in all the photos, yes even those beautiful travel blogger instagram photos. It's tucked away in kasbah (a neighbourhood) near the moulay el yazid mosque, not close to the main medina so it's still a tranquil oasis but not remote. You can walk into the centre of the town (a very easy route, everyone is helpful with directions or follow the tourists!) in about 10-15minutes. It was also so safe for three women to be walking back at night through windy roads, we even got lost and it was getting dark and people helped us. Kasbah is beautiful itself with many cafes and this little riad is tucked away behind a gorgeous turquoise door in kasbah in a quiet street. To get there you walk through their local market and it became my favourite thing to walk through everyday in this little archway with tiny shops opening selling fresh bread and it must be where the locals get their daily stuff. You walk into Ksar Kasbah and instantly you are welcomed by warm smiles, the staff are like family, they tend to your every need, they are so attentive, in a not looming all the time kind of way. The boys and Leila the cook made our stay there so homely, Abdul, Morad, Hamza are so lovely and get chatting to them! They help you out with so many tips and advice.

We stayed in the sahara suite which opened up onto the terrace and it was BEAUTIFUL. The furniture is rattan and wooden and goes so well with the light filled room with moroccan spreads and sheets. The bathroom has the most gorgeous green tiles and an amazing bath with jacuzzi settings! (We didn't figure it out before we left) The ladies who clean are lovely and come clean it everyday. The rooftop is the most amazing view of marrakech for sunsets and you can also enjoy your breakfast there! I recommend this. We even saw that this place is known for tourists coming just for the rooftop views! The Spa facilities were amazing, a lady comes in for massages or the hammam, it's worth booking. The breakfast...WOW what a spread. Hands down the best coffee i've had and the presentation to the taste, everything is impeccable. The moroccan breads are so fresh, the honey is incredibly tasty and the yoghurt!!!! it's so creamy and thick and just plain yoghurt but tastes incredible.
We also had dinner here one night and we still think it was the best tagine we had in morocco, we tried the lamb and chicken and thoroguhly recommend.

This riad was better than every other one I saw (and trust me i searched for days on all the booking websites) and I came across it on Mr and Mrs Smith for such an incredible price. It's worth booking through them and you get a free bottle of local wine (which was delicious, we couldn't find it in the airport to bring back sadly). It's got it all, the staff really do make your stay so welcoming and comfortable, the views, the food, the countless places to relax and enjoy a book or a drink and the serenity of it all.

BOOK AWAY!

This is honestly the most amazing place I've ever stayed! From the moment you step in the riad, you are met with incredibly lovely and helpful staff members. The smell of orange blossom and Atlas honey also fills the air. They seat you by the pool and serve fresh mint tea and Moroccan sweets as you fill out the paperwork. From there, you are shown to your room and given a tour of the riad. The staff took excellent pictures of me by the pool and were more than happy to help with any questions I had! The rooftop also offers some of the most amazing views of Marrakech and is an excellent place to watch the sunset or sunrise. You can order drinks or food throughout the day and enjoy them either in the restaurant or on one of the rooftop terraces. The free breakfast in the morning is so delicious as well! The rooms were all so beautifully decorated and felt extremely clean. They are also stocked with the most amazing shampoo, body wash, and body lotion that all smell like orange blossom or honey! I wish I could have stayed here longer! Don't miss out on this riad if you're visiting Marrakech!

Pros:
Ksar Kasbah is a lovely building with stunning rooms and communal spaces. It is definitely an oasis of serenity as advertised.
The whole place was very clean and well maintained.
My room (Bahia room) was very comfortable and well equipped. The bed is firm which is my personal preference and the linens and pillows are very comfortable. There doesn’t seem to be a specific check in time, I arrived around 12:30, had 30 mins for complimentary mint tea and biscuits, a tour and then my room was ready.
The staff are very helpful and friendly, very quiet to maintain the serenity, at times I did have to ask them to speak up because I’m slightly hard of hearing! They gave lots of recommendations for sights to see, restaurants and an offline map app to help me get around, even advice on how to look after my Henna!
I appreciated the door to door airport pick up and drop off, especially the pick up since the immediate area outside the riad is quite intense for a newcomer to Marrakech. Friendly driver and nice air conditioned van. It took me an hour to get through passport control and the driver waited anyway while others I spoke to found their drivers had left.
The hot lunch / dinners at Ksar Kasbah was some of the best I’ve ever had, really delicious, big portions and reasonably priced.
The included breakfast is also amazing - fresh fruit, yogurt, breads and jams, granola, juice and coffee. This sounds quite simple but it’s a really delicious and filling meal.
You also get water and biscuits bought to your room every day around 6pm which is a lovely touch!
I really recommend booking a Hamman at the spa, I had this and a 90 minute massage and it was one of the best spa experiences I’ve ever had.

Cons:
It’s an old building and as such the walls are thin, paired with the marble / tile it means noise carries easily and you can hear absolutely everything in the building, from the kitchen, to the front door, to other guests. Bring earplugs and you’ll be fine!
It can also get cold at night due to these things, but again bring layers and you’ll be okay.
The shower in the room is very powerful (which is great) but so much that the bathroom flooded each time I used it, and I had to use all the towels to dry the room instead of myself!
The immediate area isn’t very touristy but you’re only a short walk from the tourist areas.

On my second night a very noisy French family took over the rest of the floor, the children were screaming and shouting for hours. This was disturbing and the opposite of the calm atmosphere that the hotel is aiming for - I was very surprised to see children staying here at all as it doesn’t seem like that child friendly a place! Not the hotel’s fault though!

Magical, amazing, unique place to stay where they take the very best care of you. We are just back from a four night stay in this Riad in Marrakesh. I cannot rate this place higher enough our stay was brilliant. The location is great and you are able to get around so easily (I felt very safe and with the help of google maps didn’t get lost). We used the Riad to book transfers, a camel ride and a night at a dinner show. The gentleman who they use for transport is attentive and thoughtful (he stayed with us when we did our camel 🐫 ride and took photos). The breakfast and food in the Riad is authentic and delicious. The spa treatments are just what you need. The staff whether it be the manager or the gentleman who serves breakfast are the kindest people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting on holiday (I have holidayed a lot!) from the manic Souks outside you enter this Riad and instantly feel calm, relaxed and a million miles away from the outside.

Ksar Kasbah is a truly wonderful oasis of calm leaving behind the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. I stayed for 3 nights with my 2 daughters and we had the Sahara room on the top floor. The room was spacious and comfortable simply decorated in Moroccan style. Staff were so welcoming and friendly from the minute we arrived to when we left. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt very much at home straightaway and got to know everyone from the waiters, cleaning lady and the ladies in the kitchen. Breakfast on the roof terrace each morning was a treat with typical Moroccan pancakes, breads and pastries, fresh fruit, omelette and mint tea. Location was fantastic in the Kasbah area of the Medina and about a 15 minute walk to the main square of Jemaa el fna. A 2 minute walk to the Saadian tombs, shops, cafes and restaurants nearby. We had dinner at the riad on our last night which was delicious and I enjoyed a hamman at the spa. Spectacular sunsets on the roof terrace where we enjoyed drinks and relaxed after sightseeing and bartering at the souks. A truly memorable stay in one of the most spectacular cities in the world. I recommend you pre-book a taxi with the hotel before you arrive to pick you up at the airport as most taxis might have difficulty finding the riad address.

We were initially at a hotel for our holiday but then moved to a riad for the Moroccan experience.

First of all, the staff are all very kind and helpful - no complaint there. Also, very nice orange blossom smell and the rooms were clean.

However, the riad doesn’t have good facilities. For example, they had an iron but it was broken and they haven’t since replaced it. Our bathroom had 2 sinks and one of them just didn’t empty properly, it was blocked. The water pressure was terrible as mentioned in other reviews. The bedding in our room had rough and itchy blankets.

The courtyard was pretty for pictures but be under no illusion you can swim there! It’s super awkward and small and not sure the water is replaced often..

They had a great breakfast but you were forced to eat it on the terrace which was covered in ants and there were flies and birds who also wanted a share so we didn’t enjoy the breakfast and the kids refused to come up to the terrace the second day because of this. We wanted to eat in the courtyard but they said only lunch or dinner allowed there.. it’s not very flexible at all to your needs.

The location is also not ideal.. not accessible by car which I understand but you have to walk through a very smelly market which isn’t fun, especially with family. Also, quite a walk from the Medina (25-30 mins).

For a family, I think a hotel is a much better idea or maybe a riad with better facilities. I understand wanting a traditional Moroccan experience but also you want to enjoy yourself and have great facilities on holiday! My biggest holiday regret was moving to this riad.

This gorgeous riad was the perfect base in Marrakech for three nights, a quiet, serene oasis that was wonderful to return to after a day in the bustling city.
The place is super picturesque also with a gorgeous pool and a rooftop that offers 360 degree view of the old town of Marrakech. On sunny days breakfast is also served on the top floor, a great start to the day with lots of fruits, great pancake and coffee.
The staff is absolutely wonderful, communication has been easy even before arrival, they arranged taxi transfer from the airport and back. They are very attentive with the guests, really making it feel like you are at home.

I booked this hotel by accident and realized when we arrived it was the wrong Ksar. The pool in the picture was green. The two bedroom room was horrible and only one room had an air conditioner. The owner wouldn’t consider taking 15 or 20% so we could find another place. She did give us an additional room which helped. I had no hot water for the bathtub and it leaked. There was several days with no ice and if there was, we could only get 10 or 12 cubes. The rooftop where food and drinks are supposedly served was deplorable and the few times we went there were no signs or life so had to go to the kitchen for any service. We gave up and just got up and left each day and came back late at night which was fine. The staff were lovely and we had a great rapport with them but the owner Marjorie should not be in the Hospitality business. Every problem we had fell on deaf ears. On our last night I dropped a pill and had to use a flashlight to find it under the bed. There was a solid pile of 2 inch high dust bunnies under the whole bed. Couldn’t have been vacuumed in years. Beds are hard as a rock. The word Spa is absurd at this hotel. Very close by is the Riad La Sultana which is where we went for Hammam and fabulous service and dining. I love Marrakech and the people. I have never written a review before but I do not want anyone to make the same mistake I did. Everyone we spoke to at the Ksar Kasbah felt the same as us.

The hotel was nice in a pretty building.
First impressions were good. But as time went on, we realised that it had paper walls and we could hear everything anybody did in any room at any time of the day and night. The local birds woke us each morning at 6am which was cool at first but by day 4… well, you can imagine. Breakfast was nice in the roof, very simple, just a selection of breads and jams. I heard others complain and ask for eggs but it was enough for us. Despite the lack of sleep, overall it was an ok stay until the last day when we checked out.

When we left they charged us 3.5% on our booking for using a credit card, but I tried to explain my debit card is not a credit card. Despite this they wouldn’t accept it and said to use a card, I had to pay 3.5%. I explained I have never paid a percentage on a debit card anywhere in the world but they did not listen. We had to run for a transfer so I just had to pay it but this left me very upset and because of this terrible customer service and communication, and lack of understanding on their part… they receive a bad rating and I would not return or recommend.

We stayed here for 4 nights with our 12 and 14 year olds. The hotel staff couldn’t do enough for us from organising trips to booking restaurants and drivers. The hotel breakfast is delicious and generous. The location is perfect for exploring the local area and a short walk to the main square and souks. The rooms are gorgeous and comfortable and the roof terrace is perfect for relaxing in the evenings. Highly recommend.
