I've been in Morocco for about a month and this has been far and away the best place I have stayed so far. First, the attention to detail in this amazing restoration is really breathtaking. The pictures do not do the intricate tile and plaster, as well as cedar work in the rooms and the main part of the hotel. Even the accessories, beautiful rooftop terrace and furniture are just, down to every detail, stunning. Mr. Hamid, the owner, takes an extraordinary amount of pride in every part of the riad and you can see his love of architecture of this period in every corner. I actually had trouble sleeping one night because I was staring at the cedar carved ceiling in my room admiring the craftsmanship. Second, in terms of service, Sama (Anna) was amazing. Every detail of my stay, from meeting me at the door to seeing me off, and every detail in between such as arranging tours, guides, etc she saw to it. In a country full of hospitality, she really raised the bar and was exceptional. Finally, the food was amazing. Every dish cooked with great care and was a five star experience in every way. Seriously, if you are going to Fes and you don't stay here, I don't know what you are thinking. As an American here for over a month and staying everywhere from really good hotels in Casablanca and Marrakech to riads out in the desert and mountains, this place is truly unique in Morocco. Once you walk in the lobby, you will understand.

We stayed in this Riad by a chance. The other Riad Fes has cancelled our reservation unceremoniously lees than one week prior to our stay. We have managed to secure rooms in Riad Fes Maya. It could not have worked out better. The place is spectacular. We stayed in Ambassador suite. Stunning! Other rooms are magnificent as well. The hospitality is on the aerial level. Anna is amazing. She is sincerely caring and diligent with everything she does ( I can not believe that some of the reviewers found her to be pushy!?!?!?!). Every or wish was catered immediately. The deal breaker in this hotel is the roof! Spectacular sunsets over the Medina, while having drinks! The breakfast on the roof is another experience to cherish.

We stayed 3 wonderful nights at the Riad Fes Maya Suite and Spa and absolutely loved our experience there. It is no surprise that Riad Fes Maya ranks as the top place to stay in Fes. Walking through the door, we were amazed by the beauty and grandeur of the courtyard. As it turns out, the 9 spacious rooms all look to this stunning courtyard. The dining room is on the terrace with a charmingly decorated interior and the outdoor dining looks out to the lovely hills of Fes. When Anna escorted us to our room, we could not believe the size and beauty of the suite. We had an upstairs bathroom and changing room! Each morning we were served an enormous spread of breads, pancakes, eggs, pastries and the best tasting orange juice I've ever had. Of course that was in addition to the coffee and tea made available throughout the day. The dinners were outstanding, with another huge spread - this time with perfectly seasoned vegetables - and a lamb and chicken over couscous with a taste to die for. All of this was courtesy of Mama Fatima, the owner's mother who really knows how to cook. But that wasn't even the best part of the accommodation. We received top notch service from Latifa and Mr. Hamid and especially Anna, the young lady who runs the show. I don't believe she ever sleeps as she was always available for any need or desire. This was especially true when we learned we needed a negative Covid test to fly home to the US. She made numerous calls and secured an appointment for our test the next morning. We are forever grateful to Anna for her effort and hospitality. Anyone who gets the pleasure of staying at Riad Fes Maya will know of what I speak. Thank you for everything and we hope to return again soon.

Loved our stay at Fes Maya. Riad is lovingly restored to its beauty as a formal palace. It’s close to the Medina, but also easily accessible by car and a short 1 min walk. The staff are wonderful and go out of their way to make your stay exactly as you wish. The terrace has views of Fes from all sides and serves as a wonderful place to have breakfast and dinner. Don’t hesitate, and book this place! We hope to come back.

The riad is amazingly beautiful for starters, ornate and truly a feast for the eyes. Beyond that, the service is superb! Anna helped with anything we needed or were interested in ; she’s a great asset and a wealth of knowledge. Everyone at the riad was really great, we highly recommend staying here!!
