Right on the banks of the St Joe river in Avery Idaho, 1/2 mile walk into town. ( Watch out for the logging trucks).
While there is no cell service, there is limited WIFI and I mean limited. your best location is out next to the actual satellite dish. The cabins are adorable, we had #2 which will sleep 4. two queen beds one upstairs and one down stairs along with a Futon (not very comfortable) there is a TV room upstairs which we were too busy to turn on. The bathroom is huge with a jetted tub shower combo. All the utensils pots and pans you need. Blender, Coffee pot, toaster, Microwave, full refer (no ice you need to bring that)
the front porch is comfortable and everything is CLEAN. The AC is perfect on the hot summer days. You can fish right there in the river, however, its a bit swift and most people go up about 10 miles or more to fish for the cut throat.
Avery is very very limited for food, groceries & gas it is all super expensive. so bring what you need to food. closest big town is St. Maries and it is almost 50 miles away.
super host, well worth the money.
Oh sorry they wouldnt allow my small dog.

My son and I stayed in cabin #2 for 4 nights on a fishing trip. This was our first stop on a 10 day trip to Idaho and Montana. We loved it! The cabin was very clean, nicely appointed and had everything we needed. The beds and pillows were very comfortable, and we had plenty of towels and clean linens. We cooked our meals every day except our last night, where we had the wood fired pizza in Avery everyone told us about. The camp hosts were lovely, very friendly and personable, and made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable. It was a gorgeous setting for our adventure. We had a fire in the fire pit one evening overlooking the legendary St Joe river and watched an incredible sunset. My son caught at least 25 fish just down from the cabin. Incredible place! We will be back, hopefully every year as our starting point.

My two sons and I spent a fishing weekend on the St, Joe and stayed at Cabins by the Joe, We stayed in Cabin #5 and it was great. All new and very comfortable inside and out. The Camp Hosts, Raz and his wife were absolutely fantastic. The location is great and relaxing - located right on the St. Joe River! The small and very friendly town of Avery is right across the highway with a grocery store, restaurant/bar, named TFP, with awesome pizza and a fly fishing shop (Idaho Fly Fishing Company) with friendly staff and fly fishing needs. We WILL be back to Cabins by the Joe for certain!

Nice, clean cabins with soft towels, decent beds and a small kitchenette. Good communication for bookings and changes, nice caretaker on site. Close to town but off the main road, relaxing porch with views of the hummingbirds, would stay there again.

Excellent location on the banks of the wild and scenic designated St. Joe River. We stayed in cabin 1 which is spacious with 2 queen beds and a futon. Spacious eat in kitchen. Porch with seating for 4 facing the river. Kitchen included all necessary conveniences including a coffee maker. Hummingbirds feeding on flowers on the porch! I fished up and down the St. Joe, but caught the most Cutthroat right in front of the cabin...more than 20 in 3 days and even 2 pounder! Camp host are wonderful and very helpful with anything you may need. Can't wait to return next summer.

The cabins are rustic decor but modern in all other aspects. Everything you need to cook except the food! The linens are soft as any hotel. The hosts, Laurie & Raz, are so friendly with info on the area & very agreeable to what you may need. A comfortable quiet place to relax after a day of hiking with the sound of the river rushing by.
We’d love to spend a week instead of just 3 days!
Thanks, from CA.

GREAT place to stay! The hosts, Lorie & Raz, Mary Ann & Randy were the best! Avery is a great place to get away from it all and just beautiful. The Cabin was really nice and very comfortable. If this place were within 4 hours of home I’d be back several times a year. If you’re doing the single day St Joe rafting Cabins by the Joe is the very best place to stay before and after your rafting trip! I only wish there was a multi night discount. Otherwise it’s perfect😎

Wonderful place to unwind and let go! Great camp hosts that are like you would have known them for years or that they are part of the family. We stayed in cabin 2. It was perfect. The kitchen had everything anyone would need. The beds in the rooms are comfortable and I slept like a baby. The bathroom is spacious and so nice. I almost want it for my home. So much to do on the beautiful river. You have a front row seat to sit on the porch and just watch it go by. I definitely will be back!

We stayed in one of the small cabins and it was great for just 2 people. Everything you need and plenty of outdoor recreations to do in the area. From rafting/tubing the river, to fishing, to hiking, 4 wheeling, and even biking the Hiawatha trail (a short drive away).
Best of all, our camp host's Raz and Lauri, were outstanding, cabins were clean and everything worked great. Also helped us out with our rating trip and gave us done great advise on the area.
We will definitely be going back!

This wasn’t our first visit and will not be our last. The cabins on the St Joe River are cozy and comfortable and have everything you will need for a wonderful get-away. The grounds are well-kept and camp hosts are helpful and friendly. Beautiful river a few feet from the cabin door and miles of it to explore and fish. Also some great hiking trails nearby. Loved every minute spent there!
