A group of us stayed here and had a very pleasant stay. From the street you couldn't imagine how beautiful this place is. It looks tiny from the street, but it is not. The rooms were very clean and comfortable (for a Honduran hotel). The towels are scratchy and they only give you what you need. But the breakfast is excellent, the pool is warm and the atmosphere is tropical. A very good stay. I would totally come back again.. but bring my own towels.
Right downtown but quiet rooms. My room was very large, facing the pool, with super quiet AC. A great nights sleep. The free breakfast was better than most but nothing fancy. The second floor was very nice.
An excellent choice. Big spacious rooms with fan and ac. Comfy large beds. Good shower and a reasonable bathroom. There is a pleasant swimming pool which was a real bonus. It is one block from town square, and two from the microbrewery. Breakfast was slow but hey cafe welchez is seconds away
Copan Ruinas is very small, the nearby UNESCO-listed Mayan ruins the rainson d'etre for tourists to visit. The hotel was just a block from the central plaza. It has a pool which was ideal on very hot and sticky days. My room had a balcony overlooking the pool. The kitchenette facilities were a surprise. Water was supplied. We actually had our breakfasts at another hotel so cannot comment on any food there. A general note: you can use Guatemalan quetzals but the typical exchange rate given in restaurants and bars was only about two-thirds the rate. For two days, it is best to use US dollars for the best exchange rate.
Really enjoyed our stay in Plaza Magdalena. Great location, nice rooms, convenient for families since they have small kitckens (refrigerator and sink). Obed at the front desk was very friendly and great recommending places to visit. Thanks for tending to us and all of our questions!
Good: Plenty of hot water for showers. Friendly helpful staff. Good location. The bad: The restaurant was out of breakfast items and not much to choose from. The beds are a little too firm for my liking .
Very clean hotel! They keep it immaculate. The rooms have air conditioning and a fan which is a nice treat. Only 10 minutes to the ruins! Close to the square. Bank and ATM next door. Small market across the street. Nice pool too!
Along the cobblestone streets of the medieval city of Copan is this picturesque old world Spanish style hotel. Entering from the busy winding streets one is suddenly refreshed by the peaceful gardens and pool in the courtyard. The rooms surround the courtyard and are spacious and comfortable with a very hospitable staff.
My wife, sone and I We stayed in this hotel for about a week. Our room, with two double beds, was very spacious, beds were very comfortable, the room was air-conditioned as well as had a fan. The room and the bathroom were extremely clean. The hotel public areas are also very clean - almost immaculate. There is almost always someone swiping the floor. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the front desk speaks English. The hotel has water dispensers which provides both cold and hot water 24 hours a day to fill your water bottles. I'd return to this hotel when I'll be in this area.
The Hotel Plaza Magdalena is an average property only a few blocks from the central square. Rooms are spacious and this is the top feature of this property. The smell from my air conditioning was the lowlight which was like a smelly bathroom (although all other people didn't experience this). Wifi was intermittent which was the first time we experienced this is in Central America and power went off several times. Showers were warm and besides the smell the rooms were clean and extremely comfortable. There was a pool which was nice although not the most attractive surroundings. The staff were friendly and attentive and if you're after a spacious comfortable room then this ticks the boxes.
