After traveling Belize for about a week we decided to land in PG for the night. We have had good experience with this place before so we decided to go back. And the room we had for 80$ Bze was way better than what we have had elsewhere in the country. The room was clean, nice two double beds, tv fridge microwave nice clean good working toilet and shower and great internet, and all in the middle of town. With a secure place to park the tental vehicle as well. We asked for a late check out and this was no problem for no additional fee. Friwndly people, great quality. Especially after the stay in Placencia this place was a welcome change.

After a week at lodges near Punta Gorda we needed a night in town to catch the 6 am express bus to Belize City. St. Charles Inn fit the bill perfectly. The room was clean, there were two beds and the shower was absolutely wonderful. It might seem a little small, but all we wanted to do was get cleaned up for the bus ride, repack everything to the trip out, and sleep. Carlos, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful. The only downside - and I'm not changing my rating because it's out of the Inn's control - was there was some drumming event going next door on that lasted until 1 AM. But that could have been a one time event.

The hotel is good located, which is good if you are traveling with family or business, the free parking is excelent; the rooms are small, but have wifi, t.v. cable, minibar and coffemaker. Payment is only in cash. However, when we arrived, the A/C did not work, the t.v. was not the right one, so t.v. did not work and took a time to get both working. We did spend three nights in the hotel and they never, literally never cleaned the room. They did not make the beds, same sheets, same towels for three days and three nights and I can assure you that it was not for ecological reasons, they just do not clean the rooms. The price per night $ 98 BZ is very expensive for the service considering all that. l hope you deal with the friendly assistant and not with the owner who unfurtunately is not kind and you will need patience interacting with him. I hope they improve the service.…

Response from Carlo W, Manager at St. Charles Inn
Responded 12 Sept 2018
Hi Marilu, I would just like to say that we do have several signs in the lobby which indicates that we accept all major credit cards. In regards to the TV and AC, the remote controls for them just simply needed to be re programed to the specific units which we did for you almost instantly. From time to time guest would accidentally check out with, or damage our remotes therefore forcing us to use universal remotes . This can be a bit inconvenient at times because they frequently have to be re programed to the TV or AC. This is a issue that most hotels experience but we try to do our best to re program them as it only takes about 5 minutes to get it done. I am not sure if you were aware that the other person who had accommodated the room with you specifically told us that you all didn't wanted the room to be touched, this was the reason for it not being cleaned. It is impossible for a hotel/guest house to survive in the hospitality industry if they do not clean the rooms properly and efficiently. If you check us out on booking.com our score for cleanliness is 8.6 out of a scale of 1-10, 1 being the lowest and 10 the highest. In any case, we thank you for staying with us and we hope you give us the opportunity to accommodate you again some time in the future.

This hotel is conveniently located in downtown. Very close to everything. Our hotel room was equipped with AC, fans, a mini fridge, coffee maker, and hot water shower. only negative was it was a dusty room and it was a bit noisy with traffic.

We spent one night at the St. Charles Inn. The room was small and basic, but adequate. The air-conditioning unit appeared to be quite new and worked very well. We had a fridge in the room, standing fans, and a ceiling fan. For a short stay, satisfied all our needs at a pretty reasonable price.

Perfect location in town, go to the Grocery Supply nearby to pick up your beers. The bus station is a block away, the beach three blocks, the airport about 1/2 mile. close to great restaurants. THE BEST SHOWER I have had in Central America. Do not expect the staff to honor your "do not disturb" sign on the door. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker (although no coffee for it until day three). The women who work there are very sweet, but sometimes there is a disconnect in service. Walk into "town" and eat at Leela's Bistro (tell Juliet that Mark and Cheryl recommended the beans and rice). There is a little bar on the shore, between the dock and the chocolate museum, across from the Uno gas station.... go there!

St. Charles Inn is a fine place to stay in Punta Gorda, and is a good value. Very friendly staff, clean facilities, and comfortable rooms. Air-con, wifi, fans, tv, all worked well, and made for a comfortable stay. Thank you.

I paid about $45/night. Credit cards accepted. My room was cramped. Small bathroom, tight squeeze in the shower. Bed--which took up most of the room--was large and comfortable. Good wifi. Plenty of hot water. Powerful A/C and standing/ceiling fans. Good location close to the center of town. Grace's restaurant is very nearby and OK for breakfast. I didn't find the "good" restaurant in Punta Gorda. Pray you deal with the very nice and friendly owner and not his father--the father is aged and you will need patience interacting with him. Free purified water. Fridge downstairs where you can store drinks so long as reception is open. Teresa who works at the hotel can arrange an honest and capable taxi for you to visit Nim Li Punit (essential) and Lubaantun (gorgeous). Punta Gorda is not that great...my advice is to see Nim Li Punit and Lubantuun and then leave...…

My group essentially took over the hotel for a week and we really enjoyed it. The staff was friendly, we felt so safe, and the rooms were perfect for all of us. The air conditioning was so refreshing after long days outside. Carlo, the owner, and his father are so friendly and accommodating. They were so responsive to us during the reservation process and while we were there.

Punta Gorda is a cool place to stay. It's more off the beaten track as far as tourism is concerned, so more authentic experiences and interaction with Belizean culture can be had here. St. Charles Inn was a great place to stay in the town. There is a guard placed at night (although I never felt unsafe in town) and is fenced and locket at night. so the hotel is well secured. The rooms are quaint and neat. Air conditioning is available for some rooms and there are fridges in rooms as well. It's right in the center of town, which is very convenient. The maid service was great. There is coffee makers in some rooms and complimentary filtered water available as well.
