My friend and I needed an affordable place to spend 2 days, she booked Frontier In with some reservations about the looks of it's pictures.

It was ridiculously affordable, and the comforts offered we're very much a pleasant surprise. I'll describe it as clean, air conditioned in addition to having a cooling fan overhead, comfy beds and a fully functioning hot and cold shower, accompanied by good house keeping and fresh towels.

Most Belizeans have mixed reviews about the level of service they receive from hotels/resorts because there can be some underlying stigma that they aren't white tourists. At this lil Inn, we had no such disappointment, the owner was so nice to us.

I even found reading material in my room!

Book them if you don't need fancy, are budgeting but want nice, none the less :)

This was my first trip to Punta Gorda, Belize for a study abroad with my 9 of my pre-service teachers. I must admit that I was a bit skeptical based on the few pictures online.

All skepticism and doubts were immediately erased the minute we arrived, and we were welcomed to Punta Gorda by Mr. Heston, owner of Frontier Inn.

The rooms and baths are extremely clean. The air conditioning will not let you down! We walked 2 miles round trip each day to work with children at the Punta Gorda Methodist School. Upon our return our rooms were spotless and cold--with ample clean white towels for a refreshing shower.
We were pleased to find that there are hooks on the large upstairs patios to hang our hammocks that we purchased from local vendors to take home.

We were in Punta Gorda for 13 days, and like Mr. Heston, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us. We would leave a load of our soiled laundry on our beds in the morning with $5 and find it clean and folded at the end of the day.

One important feature was a hotel guard that came each night. We felt completely safe at all times.

Mr. Heston is a sincere, kind, and honorable man. He went out of his way to help us...and I can't say that about all of the hotels I've frequented in my lifetime.

A couple of my students got overheated one day, and Mr. Heston generously came to school to take them back so they didn't have to walk back in the heat. I have deeply grateful for that. He even offered to order food from Mangroves Restaurant and pick it up for a couple of times! Who does that??? Mr. Heston!

If you need some ideas for excursions--ask Mr. Heston!

Thank you for helping to make our stay in Punta Gorda truly an amazing experience.

Dr. Karen

My husband and I just recently stayed 2 nights at this hotel. We were happily surprised that we had a microwave oven, a refrigerator and a little kitchen sink in our room. The beds were comfortable and clean. A/C, hot water. All in all a great value for the money. We could not hear any noise from the close-by airport. We will stay there again, if we travel down south in the future.

We took the basketball team down to PG, and wanted a good deal close to the venue. Frontier Inn was the spot. It's literally right next to the airport too; you could throw a stone, and hit the runway. It was away from the noisy 'downtown' area, so we slept well. The a/c was cold, and welcome.

The owners were nice. Heston is a pilot, and it was cool to see him land the plane, park it 50 feet from the hotel, and walk over. Doesn't get any easier than that. Jodie got us all settled, and went above and beyond with service. We'd gotten fish for lunch, and didn't want to put the containers in the room trash cans since they smelled. Realizing the hotel was out of trash bags, she went to the store, and got the big trash bags for us. Nice. We'll stay there next time too.

I have stayed here many times while facilitating educational workshops in the Toledo District. Jodie and Heston are the best. Rooms are very clean and staff is efficient and friendly. I always feel as though I am coming home.
