This place is very close to the maya ruins and has anice pool setup. The resort common area is nice and the menu was not too long but the optioons we tried were very good. I would recommend to visit and the cabana are very...More
Spent 3 days in Caracol Cabana which I must say was quite comfortable and basic. That's fine as that's all I need. My only critique is that the unit could use a safe and a mini fridge. The staff, though, was excellent. Booked excursions to...More

there a so many things to do in the area... there are the ruins of Cahal Pech (walking distance), Caracol, Xunantunich, and Tikal in Guatemala. There is also the ATM cave, which is well worth the trip. Add to that river tubing, cave tubing, the Belize zoo, horse back riding, botanic gardens and a butterfly farm, all very close to Cahal Pech resort. A week will not be long enough to do everything there is to do close by.
And in two different stays, I never had problems with mosquito in the rooms. Ants sometimes make an appearance (welcome to the tropics) so don't leave open food around, and geckos are frequent visitors, but no mosquito.
