The staff at Sweet Songs is top-notch! They all remember you by name and are willing to do anything in their power to make your stay more comfortable. Their willingness to go above & beyond their job duties was incredible and so appreciated. 5 star service without a doubt! Not to mention, the food was so good! Every meal we had blew us away!
Friendly staff that remember you after the first meeting. Thank you, Rita! I was there with 3 teen boys and they literally thought of the staff as family and the grounds as home by the end of our 4 days. We took the ATM Cave tour and the Xunantunich Ruins by horseback, leaving an entire day to tube, canoe and relax by the pool and on our treehouse hammock. One issue we had was with their booking agent trying to charge us an up fee on transportation. We had the all inclusive package and before we left for our trip they tried to charge me for transportation from the airport. I got that taken care of and then they did it again when we left. Thank goodness I had my confirmation emails where they clearly stated what was included with all of my details. Thankfully the front desk knew what they were doing was wrong and helped us clear it up. I’m sure it’s because the cost of gas has gotten so high, so be careful! The rooms are dark, so bring a reading light if you like to read in bed. The beach at the river is beautiful, but rocky, so bring water shoes. Bug spray.…
Sweet Songs has truly become one of my all time favorite resorts! My first stay was back in July of 2021 and the level of hospitality and sincerity from the staff was just unmatchable. Last week, I returned to the resort bringing 16 friends and family members along for my wedding to be held on property. Upon arrival, we were all greeted with a cool Eucalyptus towel and welcome drink. Staff members promptly grabbed our luggage and gave each of our guests a tour. I and my now-husband were greeted by William, the hotel manager, to personally walk us through the different locations we could utilize for our ceremony. He answered every question with expertise and kindness; He was more than willing to help in any possible way to make sure we had the best experience ever (which we totally did). The day of our wedding we met with Lizbeth who we had been speaking with since September of 2021. Lizbeth went above and beyond to make our day special. Our floral arrangements and arbor were stunning and her dinner set-up at the Treehouse Bar was equally as impressive. Something she most certainly did not need to do as we did not include a reception in our package. The morning of the wedding, it was even noted that the landscaping team was trimming and perfecting all shrubbery in our ceremony location, giving us the most perfect backdrop. I would 100% recommend Sweet Songs to any of my friends. The staff and team truly care about their guests. Yesenia was an absolute rockstar! She served my husband and I for our private dinner in the Treehouse Gazebo and took care of all our crazy friends and family at the pool bar-- where we most certainly enjoyed ourselves, maybe a little too much. Rita was equally as amazing, tending to the group lunch/dinners and making sure everyone's order was perfect. Taking care of a group of 17 on a night after night basis is not an easy task and she did it with unbeatable grace. Derby and Reggi also deserve a shoutout for their non-stop slinging of drinks at the Treehouse Bar and constant smiles. I can honestly say our entire group had the most amazing time. I look forward to returning to Sweet Songs and am hopeful to bring a group of 20+ back for a yoga retreat in either 2023 or 2024. Thank You Lizbeth, William, Yesenia, Rita, Derby and Reggi for the absolute best experience possible!…
This is a great place to experience the jungle with great access to Mayan ruins both in Belize and Guatemala. William and his staff provide amazing service (thank you Rita) delicious food (thank you Milkie) and strong drinks (Enrique)! Splurge for a treehouse if you can, float down the river or relax by the beautiful pool.
My wife and I stayed at Sweet Songs last week and had the best time! Really enjoyed being off the grid, no phones or TVs in the room. Relaxing at the pool or bar; using the canoes and tubes; and walking around the grounds or BBG to enjoy the jungle atmosphere was excellent! We have been to the ruins before and wanted to relax and it was perfect. The food was great as well! The staff was outstanding, Rita, Derby, and Rogie were great! A small thing is we wished the menu included local fruits but thanks for the custard apple!
Sweet song was lovely, gorgeous pool, nice rooms. Food could use a better selection and perhaps cost less. The resort is not very disabled accessible but my daughter’s wheelchair broke and the staff fixed it!!! We were going to go into town and find a wielder but one of the guys was able to repair on site. It was such a blessing and we were so grateful for all their kindness beautiful grounds, amazing nature and animals
I'm neutral here. I'm not going to say don't stay here, but I'm also not going to recommend to stay here. positives- very unique experience! beautiful treehouses literally right in the middle of the jungle. We stayed in the new premium treehouse. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We loved our time in the jungle. The beach was also very cool. The pool was an awesome and beautiful add-on. Negatives- When we first arrived I couldn't wait to get into the soaker tub after our long trip. But the hot water wasn't working, finally after about an hour we figured out if the sink was running then that was the only way the hot water would work. There's no phones so we couldn't call the front desk and we were so tired we didn't want to walk all the way up there. I'm glad we were able to figure it out ourselves (my husband's a plumber). Big roach looking bugs got into my suitcase which was inside our room (this can be dismissed as we were in the jungle). The food was overpriced and I didn't like any meal I got there, but my husband did. The first day I got really sick from eating the shrimp. The lighting was terrible, and I even had trouble putting my contacts in because I couldn't see. Room service isn't actually "room service" we had to walk up to the restaurant and order, then they brought the food to our room. Kindve defeats the purpose. Finally my BIG complaint. I probably wouldn't even have taken the time to critique if this didn't happen. They flat out lied to us. I e-mailed them and told them I rented a car and wanted to go to the mayan ruins ourselves. They told me this wasn't possible because we needed a gold standard tour guide, and we had to book through them. I thought it sounded fishy since I'm part of a Belize facebook page and seen ppl were driving there alone. I posted the email in the f.b group and they were outraged and told me it was a lie. To book through the lodge it was $175 per person. We drove to the mayan ruins ourselves and had a great time alone. They have guides outside of Xunantunich ruins entrance for $50USD. We went to Cahal Pech and Xunantunich on our own. They should be ashamed of using covid protocols to make more money. DEFINITELY rent a car. Most of our meals were in town, I booked all excursions through the facebook site I'm on and Viator. To rent a car through Budget it was $350 for 4 nights. We saved a ton of money. I will now try to attach the photos of the e-mails. Hope this helped! They do state in the e-mail "maybe things will change by the time you arrive" but I posted in facebook group the same day. And it was just an all around LIE…
We loved this place! Traveled to Belize for spring break with two teenagers. The food was great. The all-inclusive was worthwhile and super easy. The excursions were amazing. And the staff was outstanding and so kind and welcoming. The beds were comfy, the rooms were clean, and the setting was unlike anything we had ever experienced. The only downside? Like many in the travel industry, they struggled a bit with organization while ramping up after Covid, and there were a few blunders (pick up at the airport, logistics on trip to Guatemala) but all were minor inconveniences that were quickly rectified by a management staff that clearly cares about the satisfaction of the guests. We would love to go back!
Great people, great service, decent food (breakfast was really good), clean rooms, good drinks! We were also able to easily get to town when we wanted and get to the caves and the ruins (we did rent a car but could get transpirt when needed)
My husband and I stayed here for the second half of our honeymoon. It was an unreal experience. We stayed in one of their treehouses and loved every minute of it! We spent most evenings at the pool where they have a minibar where you can order as many drinks and snacks as you want! There's so much to do on the resort itself. We went mountain bike riding to pet the horses, tubbed down the river, and went on hikes around the property. The staff is beyond kind and the food was incredible. The restaurant was surrounded by trees and wildlife. One of our favorite parts was that wildlife eats with you! SweetSongs is secluded, peaceful, and relaxing. 10/10 recommend and hope to go back soon.
