I'm seeing another recent review with the same experience. This was a place found by a friend and booked by them on Hotel.com. We likewise got a email from them before arriving notifying us that their restaurant was closing but we could not cancel because it was "no refund" listing on Hotel.com so we went ahead. The good: The family style bungalow was newly built nice and clean. the pool was also nice and clean as pictured. The bad: However we wondered if in fact the entire resort wasn't completely closed. We met a single lady at the desk upon arrival....but then they disappeared for two days and we only saw a lone guard wandering the property. On day 3 the desk person reappeared. Over the course of our entire stay we didn't really get any service AT ALL...only one day of cleaning out of four nights....no toilet paper, no water, no coffee....and it was a huge hassle to bring food back and try to prepare stuff with no kitchen or dishes. No-one offered to discount our stay for all the hassles. I would say that it was overall a place with nice potential, but with the feeling that someone doesn't know how to run a hotel. Or that they simply have run out of money to pay staff. We ended up moving across the street to the Log Cab Inn.... Overall....i'd say skip Cassia Hills there are many better options out there.…
We booked a stay at Cassia Hills Resort March 2022. We read the positive reviews and expected our stay to be wonderful instead of stressful and tearful. Here are some of the lowlights. We pre-arranged a taxi through Cassia Hills to pick us up at the San Ignacio Town Airstrip – 4 miles away. The driver charged $100 USD and demanded payment in cash. Cassia Hills receptionists AND co-owner confirmed the cost. Multiple local taxi drivers said the standard charge is $15 USD. About an hour after check-in, we learned that the restaurant was closing and not opening until Friday at noon. They didn’t tell us that we were the ONLY people at the resort when we checked in. We were charged full price. The only refreshment/food available to us was the water at our room and that was not even enough. We had to buy more water in town, which required a walk to reception, waiting 20 minutes for a taxi to arrive, and then taking a 10-minute drive into town. We paid for a resort but where were the amenities? We didn’t get breakfast for the tour they set up for us at 8am in the morning. We spoke with the receptionist and the co-owner multiple times. They did nothing for us. If you face horrors like this in Belize, contact the Belize Tourism Board immediately.…
This resort was everything we needed. Clean, calm and in the best location, The staff was super friendly and helpful not to mention patient. It was easy to take tours from this location as pick up was always offered and the pool area was relaxing after our long days of exploring, The food was also delicious and theres something for everyone, not to mention the yummy cocktails. Youll find everything you need here and we highly recommend it.
We stayed in villa #1 and the room was so amazing and comfortable. We woke up to Birds singing and ordered food to our room, food was exceptional. We had amazing service the waiter's were so nice along with the rest of the staff I would definitely recommend you stay at cassia Hill we will definitely come back and stay longer
Cassia Hill is such a beautiful Resort surrounded by nature its so open that it is so refreshising, hearing the birds at sunrise and seeing the foxes at night amazing the staff so friendly, respectable they made us feel very comfortable. Big thumbs up for the food so delicious no complain at all. The villas are so comfortable and relaxing no noise but plenty of views,we will definitely be staying there again soon.
This place was amazing. Cassia Hill Resort had the best cabins and they were so peaceful, relaxing and so clean making it the best place we stayed during our trip. The staff treated us like family and the food was delicious and always so fresh (especially the local breakfast). The pool was just perfect, it sits on a hill giving you a view of the surrounding mountains and the variety of flora and fauna. The resort is about 30 minutes from Xunantunich Maya ruins and like five from Cahal Pech which are destinations offered by the resort (highly recommend visiting these places). I would recommend this place to any adventure seeker or to anyone looking for the perfect vacation spot. The staff is so friendly and they speak both Spanish and English so you will feel right at home.
I absolutely adored my stay at Cassia Hill! The ladies at the front desk were amazing and very helpful with booking tours. Sergio at the restaurant was hilarious and gave me and my boyfriend great travel advice. The security guard who patrolled the grounds at night was also very friendly. The food at the restaurant was fantastic. I loved the stuffed fry jacks, pork chops and caesar salad. The grounds at Cassia Hill and rooms are just beautiful! The infinity pool is so lovely and the coconut trees on the property were very pretty. The resort is on the edge of town so you feel like you are in the rainforest (and you may hear Howler monkeys in the distance) but you are close enough to town that it is very convenient. It is maybe a 20 minute walk to town or a very cheap cab ride if you don't like walking. Cahal Pech ruins are a 30 minute walk or 5 minute drive away. Xunantunich is a 15 to 20 minute drive away. The location can't be beat. If I visit San Ignacio again I will only stay at Cassia Hill and I am recommending it to all my family and friends.…
Lovely cabins are set on manicured grounds featuring a sparkling infinity pool. Sergio and Uigi took very good care of our family, mixing drinks, serving food and organizing breakfast around our morning pick up and tours. The only comment was that we didn’t get communication left by one of our morning guides that had been left for us.
This resort is set in a very pleasant setting. We stayed in a cabana that was cute, clean and neat. It was also close to the pool. All of the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. A special shout out goes to Sergio and Luigi in the restaurant/bar area. Their attention to making our stay as pleasurable as possible was truly commendable. the only negative is that the property is located on a hill which provides a wonderful view but can be trying for anyone with physical challenges.
This is an amazing resort. We felt so pampered there. The staff saw to all our needs. They have a very nice pool with a bar that my granddaughter loved. Their restaurant serves good food and they have a wonderful nature hick right on site.
