#12 of 18 in San Ignacio
A new boutique hotel in downtown San Ignacio, Cayo, in the Caribbean country of Belize. The MBDH aspires to be the quality choice for downtown San Ignacio. We are exclusive to our guests and have all the information on downtown activities, shops and restaurants. Our rooms are minimalist in design to evoke seclusion and rest. When you enter our lobby, you will see and feel how separated the facilities and rooms are from the energy of downtown. As a guest, you don't need to buy water or coffee locally as we provide those with your stay.

The price of a room is high compared to what it really is. They don't do room service every day. When we got to our room we couldn't find a towel or soap, the fridge was turned off and there wasn't even a bottle of water in the fridge Luckily we booked only two nights Bad experience

Kind of 'bare bones' place. Rooms aren't fancy, but they're clean and comfortable. Very convenient location. But the staff is wonderful! Carlos even changed my flat tire for me! Stayed for seven nights and was pleased.

I always stay here when I come to cayo rooms are nothing fancy but always clean. Enough for a good night's sleep; I have always dealt with young ladies at the front desk who has always been more than freely. Unfortunately, today was a different story; an older lady was at the desk whom I most say was the most unpleasant individual you can deal with she claimed to be the ower. Upon trying to pay with my local Belize debit card, she told me that she had to charge me 3.5 % for using a debit card. I explained to her I had always stayed in this hotel and had never been charged that fee. Her reply was “it's the law.” I the past my girl who is belizean have always done the booking. Today I came by myself. Today's experience shows the are one of many local business that take advantage of foreigner by charging extra fees.

I got a room as a walk-in. Deluxe Queen which included a mini-fridge (not working) and a safe. The room had a very musty moldy smell as if it hadn't been opened in quite some time. The AC was great, Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable but the biggest problem was a large family that was quite loud from 6:45 AM both mornings I was there and still making noise until midnight. One of the men in their group was also ironing his shirt wearing only a towel out in the hall. Quite strange for a boutique hotel even in Belize. The whole place needs upgrades and repairs to be what it should be. It has the potential to be a lovely little hotel with a bit of investment and the location is fantastic for San Igancio.
