Isla Marisol Resort

Traveller (392)
Room & Suite (71)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private ensuite bathrooms with flush toilets, fresh water showers, hot and cold water for bathing, air conditioning, and 24-hour electricity. Isla Marisol Resort also offers cool cocktails at our newly rebuilt "over the water" bar, and deliciously fresh Belizean style food in our casual dining room. Incredible water sports are just a stone's throw from the resort, most diving and snorkeling sites just 2-10 minutes from the island. All ages and experience levels are welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with world class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at your door step. Deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily.

We went to Isla Marisol specifically for the snorkeling, and we were not disappointed! I can't say enough good things about Marisol and the people who run the resort. I read a review that said you were treated like family, and that was our experience! The vibe is akin to

Spent a week at this beautiful paradise!!!! When we arrived the staff was on the boat dock to greet us, they showed us to our cabana and explained the meal times and asked if we needed anything. The staff is top notch .. Letty the go to lady and bartender was absolutely the life

The diving was very good for Caribbean diving. Zoe was very knowledgeable and always willing to share her knowledge and love of what is under the water. The dive staff is very friendly and the short boat rides are really short. The fish life and reef were very, very healthy!

What a beautiful island paradise. Quiet and calm lagoon with individual cabanas and an over the water fully stocked bar. The staff was excellent as was the food. The accommodations were comfortable but "basic". I would definitely ask for air conditioning! The selling point

I lead scuba trips all over the world for Charleston Scuba and this is one of my best trips ever. Everyone in the group is already talking about coming back. First, the diving is exceptional. It is well know that Glover's Reef is the best diving in Belize and some of the best

Hi Kathy. Great question! While we reserve the right to charge for kayak use (as listed on our website), we occasionally offer kayaks to our guests at no charge. An example would be a scenario where perhaps a guest paid ahead for a dive package but was in fact too congested to dive. I hope this answers your question; please don't hesitate to reach out again!

Flying into Belize Intl. Airport, the best and least hassle is by flying on either Tropic Air or Maya Island Air to Dangriga Town municipal airport. Round trip tickets are 146.00 and flight time is 17 mins, A member of our staff will greet and take you to the boat dock for the journey to Isla Marisol Resort eta. 90 mins or less depending on weather.

This is a small resort and the staff is very attentive to your needs. I am not a diver so I recommend you ask the Isla Marisol staff about certification, etc. From the shore you can see small sharks, manta rays schools of various sized fish but I think you need to go out on a dive boat if you want the whole show. By the way, most of the shark species in Belize have a live and let live attitude toward people.

There are sharks, rays and schools of fish in the shallows but if you want a good show you need to go out with a guide who knows where things are. We didn't need any snorkeling equipment to see these things as the water is so clear you can stand in it and still see your toenails.

"We stayed in cabana #12- east-west exposure which made the cabana quite hot in the day but closer to the dining and bar."
"Reef House was fantastic and large. All rooms seemed to have good views, open to breezes. No bad rooms here."
"Family houses on far side of island. Glad we had cabanas 1 & 2 instead...right on the beach and close to the dining hall and bar."
"Weak, intermittent wifi in the dining lodge."
"There are no bad cabana locations"
