We rented this place through ABnB and the owner would not tell us the name of the place and gave specious clues as to where it was. ("Second street" which was actually Pescadore St but it is the 2nd street. This place's entrances is off a side walkway beside the Basmati restaurant, which you must go into to meet the owner and get access to the rooms. The place has a large common area that is varnished wood and kind of pretty and rustic looking. It is not air conditioned, just open windows for ventilation. There should be a refrigerator in the common area for all tenants as only rooms 1, 4 and 5 have refrigerators. A hot plate and microwave would be nice in the common area. Faisal brough us up a 5 foot plastic table with an induction water kettle and a toaster. These things were really handy. Faisal told us we could use the restaurant kitchen, stove and refrigerator, but that seemed like an intrusion. We declined to do that, so I guess that's why he brought us up the table and appliances. There is a shared bathroom/shower/laundry room off of the common room. There are 6 rooms above the restaurant. 5 have a/c and 4 have integral bathrooms. the 2 rooms on the third floor (4 & 5) are roomy and have baths. Rpoom 1 has three double beds and a bathroom. Room 2 is small with no a/c and no bathroom. Room 6 has a/c and a bathroom whose door will not close (it's kind of stressed and warped.) it is rather small and cramped. Room 3 is a larger room with a/c but no bathroom. it faces the front street. There is no sound deadening and all of the street noise (and there is tons of it all of the time!) enters at will and seems like you are immersed in the sound. If you want to sleep, do not take this room. All of the rooms have locks and keys. Faisal gives a room key and front door key to each room. We had the run of the whole house as per the ABnB agreement we made. That was nice. It cost us ~US$350/night for a week's stay. The shower head in room six had poor water distribution and the hot - cold control took us 5 days to figure out. You do not turn the delta type knob, you move it right for cold and left for hot in a sliding motion. The shower head in room 4 had been unscrewed and was just setting on the window sill. General comments. the first night the residents in Room 1 heard and then saw a mouse in the room they were somewhat concerned because they had two toddlers in the room with them. When we told Faisal about the mouse, he got us a trap a day later with acookie for bait. The mouse pulled the cookie off of the bait hook without tripping the trap. We changed the cookie to cheese (American Ingenuity). That night the trap tripped and we had a pet mouse for a night. One big problem was that the floor had never been mopped or scrubbed only swept. when the kiddies walked around their feet became coal black after merely minutes. I mentioned that the floors needed mopped to Faisal and his wife and they acknowledged my request, but they never did mop the floors. I truly don't believe they comprehended the concept of mopping. There was free wifi that worked fairly well. The noise easily permeated the whole place. traffic is constantly traversing Pescadore St nad the street it deadends into a house away and you hear the noisy golf carts, delivery trucks, garbage trucks, motorcycles, andboom boxes as if they are in the room with you. During Saturday and Sunday, The A&R store across the street felt duty bound to blast their music at full volume to attract everybody on the island there. Much like the Eloi siren in the "Time Machine", I guess. As for the Caye, if you like third world destitution at first world prices, this is the place for you. I can eat as cheap or cheaper at nice restaurants here in Houston. The beaches are a disaster. They are filthy and swimming beaches are few and far between. Come to Ambergris if you want to snorkle or scuba, else there's gotta be abetter place to stay.

It is a guesthouse with 5 rooms. It was advertised as free toiletries, shower only, and 42 inch flat screen in each room. I think only one room may have had a bathroom in the room. Nowhere does it say shared toilet and shower. Free toiletries was a bar of soap only. The upstairs toilet smelled like the sewer was backing up and it had a sink with no mirror. The down stairs had one single make shift plastic shower, with no shower head, and when you first run the water, it smelled like stagnant puddle water. There are no 42 inch flat screens, just old 19 inch cathode ray tubes. I dont mind shared toilets/shower etc if im expecting it and planning to suffer, but when it is not as advertised, thats what gets me really pissed off! In addition to that, the location of the hotel was about 5 blocks away from what was advertised, this caused me major problems in finding the hotel. You do not want to be walking around in circles with your luggage in this blazing sun and heat! The hotel is located at the beginning of pescador street near the airport not at the other end of town. Also it is located above the basmati restaurant but the check in counter is located in the basmati restaurant, completely confusing, they really need to fix this listing!

Absolutely horrible place to stay. Dirty, mouse droppings in closet, no maid service. No security cameras, only a flimsy door out of sight from the street for entry. I am a 6'2" 230 pound man and did not feel safe staying here. The two positive reviews must be fake.

Room was clean and centrally located in San Pedro. Can walk everywhere from here. The owners also have an Indian restaurant downstairs that has excellent food. Room was quiet, with our own bathroom and warm water.

This place is not bad for the price you pay. Beds are comfortable. The room has A/C and we also had a private bathroom which is great! Stayed a total of 3 night and the whole 3 nights were great :) the owner was very friendly and polite I would recommend this hotel to those who want to save money.
