We stayed here for two nights and the place was exactly what we were expecting. The room was clean, well organized, and with great A/C. We did not have time to go into the pool, but it was clean as well. If you stay here, make sure you watch the sunset from the third floor, where the view is amazing.

Four of us divers had the opportunity to stay at the Ambergris Sunset Hotel in May/June 2021. The reservations were easy and the communications are fast. Once we arrived we found the hotel to be very clean and in the perfect location in San Pedro. Miguel, the owner, made us feel like we were at home and assisted with every aspect of our stay. He took his golf cart and hauled a couple of us to a golf cart rental company and even negotiated a better rate for the golf cart. Miguel and his wife did an excellent job of taking care of us and I would highly recommend staying there if you like homey, clean and comfortable settings right in the heart of San Pedro!

Ambergris Sunset Hotel is a little sugar pink room only place in the centre of San Pedro. Tucked away down a quiet street the hotel offers spotless rooms, good aircon, comfy beds and free morning coffee. The small pool and loungers / chairs are a welcome addition and the rooftop terrace is a lovely spot to watch the sunset. It is astonishingly good value for money and I simply loved the location smack bang in SanPedro but so tranquil to retreat too. San Pedro is all hustle and bustle and as you arrive on the plane you can see the condos and hotels stretching out from the town, but Ambergris Sunset was much more my thing than a swim up bar and wall to wall food. A cuter, more well located and friendlier little place would be hard to find but it was the helpfulness of the owner Miguel that really stands out. On arrival from two nights on the mainland where I had started with what turned out to be a kidney infection. Miguel picked us up from the airport and took me straight to the Drs. On arrival the surgery was closed so he called the Dr who came off his lunch early to see me. Miguel waited for me, took me to the pharmacy and then back to the hotel. He went beyond what could be asked of any hotel owner and what could have been a frightening prospect was a simple and efficient affair. Three more visits to the Drs for some antibiotic shots, a week of tablets and a distinct lack of margaritas didn’t damped my stay one bit. Thank you Miguel! As an aside should anyone find themselves under the weather in Dan Pedro they would be wise to go and see Dr Daniel Gonzales at Hope clinic. Dr Daniel and his team took very good care of me, they saved my trip. I was quite unwell whenI arrived but with the prompt treatment I received as I was right as rain within 36 hours.

Excellent value at this wonderful little hotel on the bay in San Pedro. The manager was exceptionally helpful and the staff were friendly and kept the pool spotless and the rooms very clean. Lots of fun meeting other guests at the pool and the rooftop patio where the views were wonderful.

Arrived by ferry and was pleased to find out it was only a very short walk from the port. Loved the property and its local feel. Not many rooms at all so meant it was peaceful throughout our time there. Really central to the town and easy to get around with a large supermarket round the corner and with a fridge in the room it's easy to keep items stored at the hotel. We had no issues with getting access to the bikes which we were able to borrow free of charge though we did hire a golf buggy for one day to get to secret beach.
