Stayed at CoCo Beach for 2 weeks. We had a wonderful stay while here. The staff were fantastic like others have stated. The airline lost a package and the front desk worked with me and the airlines for several days. The servers were great coming to the pool to check on drinks and our food. The house keepers kept the rooms spotless. The kids absolutely loved the pool, slide, and jumping off the rock structure. The grounds are perfectly kept. Every morning they are cleaning up leaves and raking the sand paths. The restaurant has great food. There are so many restaurants to choose from on the island but it was hard not to eat here. The kids loved the grilled cheese and chicken Alfredo. The fish sandwich was good as well and my wife liked the shrimp Alfredo. We ate breakfast several times and the Caribbean breakfast eggs, toast, bacon, and fruit. Pancakes were very good. As stated above the big pool was great. There is a shallow end and then deep around the slide 8-12 feet. The other pool has a volleyball net and hot tub. The pool bar is very nice, but water is cold due to there being no sunshine. They had entertainment several nights at the outside restaurant. Also watched the UFC fights one night at the bar. We booked a golf cart through the resort which used F&S. Had a very nice green cart. They cleaned it a couple of times and even filled up the gas tank. Used Tuff Enough for a dive but had some issues with their communication. Went with a different dive shop after. Overall this is a great resort with a very hard working staff. Would recommend friends to this resort.

CocoBeach – we stayed here for 4 nights on vacation, and it was a pleasant experience overall. On the plus side the resort is very beautiful with 2 swimming pools and charming architecture. We had the 2-bedroom condo overlooking the ocean and smaller pool. Another plus was that the service was very good, with friendly responsive people at the front desk, bar and restaurant. By the end of the trip, we also came to realize that the restaurant was one of the best we visited with comparable prices to being in town. We were there during lobster season and had the grilled lobster one evening for only $40 Belize ($20 American)- excellent. The 2 for one happy hour every afternoon was also nice. On the con side, no one warned us about the very bad smell of the ocean in the summer due to the rotting sea grass. It smelled like sulfur sewage, and there was no way you could go in the scary looking brown water. We were grateful we didn’t stay at one of the beach front condos, but even so the smell permeated the resort. When you are paying luxury prices, you just don’t expect this. The smell wasn’t as bad in the town of the San Pedro. Another con was that there was no dishwasher in the condo, and the water pressure in the showers was almost non-existent. Many times we only had a small trickle of water. Again, for luxury prices, you expect more. Due to Covid there was no cleaning service in our room, and without a dishwasher we had to do all of our own dishes. Prices should have been reduced if they weren’t going to clean the rooms every day. We could have stayed at Carib down the road for 1/3 of the price we paid to stay here. Finally, the resort is situated 3 miles or 15 minutes from the town of San Pedro, and the golf carts cost $26 for 2 hours. This adds up quite quickly on your bill. Something to consider. Our favorite things to do while visiting: Snorkeling tour – don’t miss this! The evening food tour in San Pedro was totally worth the price, and the beautiful clear turquoise water at Secret Beach almost made up for the ugly smelling brown ocean water in front of the resort.

We very much enjoyed our time at coco beach and would definitely stay here again. That being said I don’t know if it’s due to COVID recovery or the way it usually is but there are some small tweaks that could definitely make it better. The main issue was communication. It was very difficult getting a response from anyone about whether we could check in early since we needed to check out of our other hotel on the northern part of the island in the morning. We finally did get a response and they did let us check in early. When we arrived the front desk person sped quickly through the paperwork, information on the pool, WiFi etc. no big deal because I thought she’d give us a copy or there would be a welcome binder in the room, unfortunately no. So I felt like we had to keep asking/calling to find out answers that would generally be answered in a binder in the room- what time the pool opens, spa services, etc. day 2 the front desk person gave us a binder in which she had crossed out all the things not currently offered because of COVID. We also felt things around the resort could have been cleaned up in a more timely manner. Down by the pool there were bottle caps, cigarette butts on the pool side and margarita glass left over night and for almost a full next day. At check in they said room cleaning was every 3 days- totally ok with us- but that if we needed to get rid of trash we could just put outside, call front desk and they would come pick up. We had room service at lunch one day and put our plates and trash outside our door and called down, they picked up our plates but trash was still outside our door the next morning. Food was ok but we mostly chose to eat outside the resort as there are lots of options nearby. They do have a good happy hour! Although it took an hour to get guacamole and chips to go with our happy hour drinks as you can’t order food with the bartender and we struggled to get a waiter to take our order. The best part of the hotel is definitely the pools! Multiple pools, with a swim up bar and even a hot tub. The rooms are also beautiful, comfortable and spacious! Shower is huge with a bench, unfortunately we didn’t have hot water until our last day here (6 night stay) The very best part we didn’t figure out until our last day here- if you have your own snorkel gear you can kayak out to the reef, tie up to a buoy and see some amazing coral and fish!!! I wish I would have realized this at the beginning of our stay as I would have done this every day! The other thing we really liked about our stay was location. It was a quick golf cart ride to the turn to secret beach and a quick trip in to San Pedro. There are also lots of other options nearby. I highly recommend renting a golf cart from in town as you will get a much better rate. They do have free bikes so you could also go that route, but I think for secret beach you definitely need a golf cart and that cannot be missed!! Currently this hotel is rated 3 stars on google. I think it is much closer to a 4 star hotel and has the infrastructure to be 5 star hotel.

Just got back from a much needed 2021 vacation after surviving the Covid shutdowns of 2020. We traveled with a group of good friends. Our room was beautifully decorated & the air conditioning was refreshing. Our bed was comfy. We had a fridge and microwave. Our sliding glass door had direct access to a porch that open to the pool. I really liked that. The swim up pool bar was laid out well. We spent a lot of time in the pool. Our favorite drink to start off the morning was a frozen dirty banana. I enjoyed trying different drinks from the menu. All of them were delicious. As for the food, I must say that I have never enjoyed resort food as much as I enjoyed the food at Coco Beach. My two favorites were the coconut shrimp and the shrimp ceviche. As much as I enjoyed the resort food, their is another area behind the resort that offers food and it was good, too. The staff quickly became like family. We spent so much time in the pool bar laughing with them. I hated to say goodbye. The resort is a little ways from San Pedro. I liked it because the atmosphere was more relaxing. We did rent golf carts and drive into town a few times. We shopped, ate and drank. I never felt unsafe. One day we took a golf cart drive to the Secret Beach. They had tables and umbrellas right in the Caribbean Sea. Another time we took a Catamaran out to sea and swam with sharks. My friends kayaked and paddle boarded. I would highly recommend staying here. I know I will go back. FYI: If you don’t get a direct flight, I would not check a bag. Our flight from Belize was delayed due to storms. When got to Miami, it took so long to get our bags and go through TSA that we missed our connecting flight. I will never check a bag again for any flight!
