Manager “lwaldr” was rude at check in and when called about the deplorable condition of the room. We had no choice but to stay in the room because every other hotel was booked out. I was told there was one other room there with double beds. By the looks of the place, it wouldn’t have been in any different condition. The pillows were yellow with bloody nose stains on them. The bed had yellow stains on it, with hairs all over the place. The jacuzzi tub had pubic hairs in it, scum/dirt ring around the entire tub. Greasy residue at the top like it had just been sprayed down with something and not actually cleaned. The tub didn’t even work or hold water, it made bubbling noises all night. There was dirt, rubber bands, zip lock bags, trash, etc. in all corners of the room and bathroom. The sink hadn’t been wiped out, floors didn’t appear to be swept or mopped, hair and dirt all over. The toilet ran all night, sounded like Niagra Falls. My stay at the Hamptom the next night was much better and cost less. When I told the manager on the phone about it, she said she checked me in and she doesn’t usually issue refunds but wants to see my pictures. I simply stated if she didn’t want to refund it, I would just call Choice Hotels. She was very rude and said well then just call them. Obviously shouldn’t be in a management or customer service position. I guess I should’ve went down and told her that night but she didn’t want to leave the dining room to even check me in. I can only imagine how I would’ve been treated if I went down with a complaint. Guess we should’ve just slept in our truck!…
Stayed the weekend of the Iron Bowl, and this is the closest hotel we could get to campus, at a reasonable price. Room was spacious enough, and clean. Beds were a little hard and sheets felt a little rough, though. Our King room had a jacuzzi tub, which was very nice. Hotel was quiet and safe and in a good location, with lots of dining and shopping nearby. Staff service was great. Breakfast was more flavorful than usual, for the brand, but no breakfast meat served over the weekend. Housekeeping was not consistent, as items such as coffee, TP, etc., were not replenished properly, and one day, we came back to the room to find bed made, floors, carpet and bathroom clean, but all of our trash not removed. Wi-Fi was very fast and reliable. BTW, there are no stairs or fitness center, but that was not necessary, for our stay. For the price, it's not bad, so, we would consider staying here again, if in the same situation.…
Very clean and quiet with good bedding. Perfect for a football weekend stay with easy access to highway. Staff was very helpful and allowed early check in. Will definitely stay in this Quality Inn again.
We stayed at the Quality Inn - The front desk clerk was very nice and check in was a breeze. This hotel DOES NOT have an elevator - so keep that in mind while thinking about where to stay. We were on the second floor by the stairs - the room was nice and clean - smelled good and looked good. The only downfall would be the horrible coffee for breakfast. The breakfast itself wasn't top notch (there was no proteins except for the eggs, no bacon or sausage). They did have an nice selection of cereal, pastry and bread, instant grits and so forth. But the coffee - well, I'm not a coffee snob, far from it, but I couldn't drink it. The staff was great and we would stay here again, but maybe eat breakfast down the road at the Who's Diner.
Delightful experience. Hurricane Dorian forced our evacuation from the Georgia coast. Since pet friendly motels in my childhood home of Sylacauga AL, our destination, are limited, we stayed in Alexander City. First night at Super 8, recommended by TripAdvisor. OK but nothing special. We went to Quality Inn in Alex City. Great staff, first-rate facilities, good hot breakfast. They waived pet fee for hurricane evacuees.
