#3 of 6 hotels in Alexander City
If ever a city were designed for relaxation, it is Alexander City. Known as "The South's Best Kept Secret," the city offers a small-town ambiance and bountiful recreation on the shores of Lake Martin. The Hampton Inn hotel in Alexander City is located only minutes from dining, shopping and attractions, and within easy reach of Highway 280 and Highway 22. We are roughly an hour from Birmingham, Montgomery and Opelika, as well as Columbus, Georgia.Explore the pride of this area - the crystal clear waters of Lake Martin. The 44,000-acre lake is perfect for boating, swimming, fishing, and water skiing, and it's only a few minutes from our Alexander City hotel. While there, see the Kowaliga Indian statue, immortalized in song by Hank Williams during one of his many visits; as well as Chimney Rock, a favorite of lake-diving daredevils. Our hotel in Alexander City also puts you close to nature at Wind Creek State Park with many trails and a 200-foot fishing pier.

Have stayed here before and it’s just okay. Best option in the area it appears. Rooms need painting, cleaning, updating and pest control. Walls are very scuffed and do not look maintained. Noticed something moving in nightlight while in the bathroom and removed the cover and a live roach was I guess trying to stay warm. Beds are uncomfortable to say the least, think sleeping on plywood. The “breakfast” is laughable to be a Hampton Inn. Very very minimal selection and I’m sure it’s “because of Covid” but the other Hampton’s I have stayed in had a modified but full breakfast. Not impressed.

We came to the area due a family member passing away. The hotel staff was very pleasant & the area was quiet & very nice. We enjoyed our time here though it was only for 3 days. Room was nice & comfortable.

The most negative issues we have experienced at a Hampton Inn. We have stayed in many. 1: Telephone did not work 2: HVAC very slow-we had to set the thermostat to 76 to get warm and it took hours. 3: Night light was burned out in bathroom When I pointed this out to the front desk clerk nothing changed 4: Side door was hit or miss with room key- Once I used the card 30 times and it never opened 5: Paint was peeling on ceiling in bathroom 6: Room door closer was not working-door always swung wide open and did not close automatically 7: Wall thermostat broken-sign said to use the controls on the unit itself 8: There was no place to plug in the coffee pot without unplugging something from the desk lamp 9: Ice machine on ground floor did not work in the morning I should have noticed that it didn’t have a refrigerator or microwave when I booked the room.

Although they are undoubtedly still being affected by this pesky Corona Business, they made an effort to at least try & make up for it. No, they were not the absolute best Hilton (every single one is different with this Corona business, & none are what it used to be, should be, or what you pay for & expect). However, the folks at this location are at least trying & they are making a sincere effort to provide real customer service, especially considering lol the ridiculous rules they have to follow these days. Their breakfast had the most variety & interesting selections of ll the Hamptons & several others observed while on the road. It was not what it should be, but still better than many other Hilton properties. The room was comfortable along with the beds & the temperature was perfect & steady. The hot water was good along with the pressure on the third floor. The best thing though was the service. They served up a smile & a spoonful of honey.

I'm use to excellent service and rooms while staying Hilton Brand Hotels, However, in staying at the Hampton Inn in Alexander City, Alabama, the hotel failed to meet any of those requirements. The girl that checked me in was so discourteous and was not helpful at all. The room was not well maintained and stunk of cigarette smoke. As did the halls. The room was not well kept and honestly I wanted to change my room as soon as I got up there. As the evening went on, I went back down to get towels but the girl who checked me in was ignoring me. Thank God another woman came to the counter and helped me with the towels and apologized for the smoky odors and lack of the book that provides local information and places to eat. sleeping was difficult due to other patrons who were just loud so in the morning I decided to cut my visit short and check out of the hotel. The woman who checked me out was courteous even when she was apologizing that they didn't have any hot breakfast as advertised because of the corona virus. This hotel was a disappointment on all levels except for the two women that came after my check in. I would not recommend the hotel.
