It’s hard to give them a one as this is basically a Red Roof Inn charging 4+ star prices. Incompetent staff. Zero amenities. Nothing open. But more than willing to charge like everything is fully operational. I will never use this hotel or anything with Sonesta as part of the name

Hotel's Favourite
My fiance (now husband!) and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta in DC for 2 nights for our wedding with our dog. We worked with Allie R. who was amazing at coordinating everything and made sure everything went smoothly. We stayed in a King Executive Studio Suite and were amazed by the large size of the room was and the gorgeous views we had of the city! The hotel room was spacious, exceptionally clean and they even included thoughtful touches for our dog such as a fluffy dog bed and 2 large bowls for food and water. In addition, all of the staff that we encountered were friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions or needed anything. The location is also superb - it is located on a very cute street with lots of bars and restaurants and in the heart of Dupont Circle. We can't wait to stay at the Royal Sonesta again!

is the WORST hotel I ever stayed, no one cleans your room, I stayed 5 night not even the trashcans were emptied one single day.I HAD TO MAKE MY BED EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! I ran out of face tissues, toilet paper, the sink was clogged and they did nothing about it. I ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL The Hotel is unkept in every single aspect and dirty. It is not a cheap hotel, the least I could ask for is housekeeping doing their job. when I complained about all this, the person who was at the front desk, told me to leave the trashcans outside my room!!!!!!

From the moment I walked in I felt welcome. I had my hands full so the valet was kind enough to take my bag to the front desk. When checking in the manager kindly upgraded my room since it was my first stay. Really the only negative things I have to say is would have been nice to have a coffee maker or kettle in my room, I enjoy an afternoon cup of coffee or tea and there wasn't a USB port by the bed so remember to bring your wall plug.

Book a room for 3 days. The hotel decor is nice. The staff is polite, but seem unfazed. 2 major complaints was the cleansing of the room and credit card charges. I check into the hotel Friday afternoon. I am out and about in D.C. all day. Come back to the room, not clean. Contact staff, "Oh, you have tell us the night before if u want your room clean". They sent up set of towels, and bed linens to my room. I HAD TO CHANGE MY OWN SHEETS???. Now I formally request housekeeping for Sunday. I am out and about again, come back to the room. Floor not vacuum, bathroom counters not clean. (no personal items were, on the counter). I prepaid online  and was provided one amount. I check in to the hotel, credit card charge another amount. Staff saided they charge $100.00 per day for incidentals. Okay, but that is not listed anywhere on website or confirmation email. This is a 4 star hotel, providing 2 star service. I felt like, I was at a Days Inn off the highway. This place will keep getting business because of the area. Choose the other area hotels, if u can. Please don't us COVID, as an excuse. If COVID is the problem, I need COVID prices.
