The staff is terrific at the Omni Shoreham. Truly nice and competent, all of them. The gardens are a respite. Omni Shoreham was a grand hotel when it was built in the 1930's. Solid concrete walls, high ceilings, wide hallways, several elevator banks, a large shallow pool kept clean and refreshing. Small but fully equipped gym, locker room with showers and a small spa. The management is doing everything possible to accommodate the guests and work it's way back from Covid. Robert, the very grandly designed in-house restaurant has the best pot pie I've had in a long time. Breakfast is very good too. It's not fully open yet and working from a limited but good menu, but is getting there. It's fabulous to sit on the comfortable couches outside around the fire pits. The rooms are very comfortable. My carpet was new and the bedding is fresh, mattress is good. Ample closet space, large dresser, 55 inch smart tv, individually controlled air. A little loud but cools perfectly. I look forward to going back!

This hotel is gorgeous, but what made our stay special was the level of service. From the pool bar to the breakfast service to engineering (who took less than 5 minutes to respond to an issue at 8pm), the level of care was exceptional. We were also with two rambunctious boys under the age of 12, and they were made to feel like valued guests as well. This is a special place where adults can relax while children have a wonderful time being kids.

#1 Upon our arrival the room had tape on the thermostat and the wallpaper was peeling. #2 The valet service is absolutely deplorable. #3 The “refrigerator” did not have bottles of water nor was it even cold, unacceptable. Will not be back ! No

The room was lovely. I had a garden view room on the fifth floor and the view of the Washington skyline was breathtaking. Comfortable room with lovely amenities for tea making and a fridge, welcome in the summer. My drinks were cold always and when the AC chilled my African bones, the tea warmed me right up. It’s a shame covid shut down all food and beverage service so while there, one has to either Uber eats or leave the hotel to look for food. A good thing there are several eateries within walking distance, chipotle to McDonald’s, Nandos to a CVS with grab and go sandwiches. For a beautiful view of this historic hotel take a walk during the night. When all the guests are settled and the hallways are empty. The walk through the hallways, chandeliers and mirrors and lighting……. Makes one appreciate the architecture and details. The conference hall and break out rooms were well equipped, well laid out. The tech on point and the organisation seamless. There was fairly tight security, a tad tiring but I guess that’s our present reality. Staff were friendly and helpful and the cleanliness to an acceptable standard. I would love to visit again, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Bed springs you can feel when sleeping. Chipping paint really worn carpet. Bathroom needs a gut job, cracked tile, tub really squishy bottom, tub faucet leaking bad. The lobby not to bad the upper floors needs a total remodel.
