This is one great hotel the staff is amazing. Richard would always be so helpful at breakfast time. Admired his hard work. Very clean facility. The reason why we chose the embassy at the Chevychase pavilion was due to easy access to the metro. We never had to leave the hotel to access the metro. It was nice to be very convenient on the red line and we could travel anywhere we needed to go around DC. I would highly recommend the embassy suite. They have wonderful breakfast with lots of selection there happy hour was great with wonderful snacks and good drinks. The rooms are super clean. The hot tub and pool were a wonderful facility. The pool was even heated! When we return to DC, we will stay at this hotel again. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful in all departments. We always had plenty of towels and a clean room when we came home from a long day of walking in DC. The best part about the hotel was the easy access from the hotel over to the red line. It was great that we never had to leave the building to get to the red line and ride wherever we need to go

If you’re a first timer coming to DC and concerned about getting around. I highly would suggest staying at the Chevy Chase pavilion at the Embassy suites due to the easy access to the public transportation. All you have to do is just jump on the red line and you can go anywhere you want in the city.

As first time visitors to the area we were totally confused when we arrived around 9:45 p.m. Had no idea where the entrance to the hotel was, where to unload our luggage and where the check in area was located. There was no bell man anywhere either to ask or even to help with our luggage. So we were left to figure things out on our own. No biggie and we did just that. Perhaps some better signage for arriving hotel guests would help.

Once we figured all of that out we headed upstairs to check in. Once again, slight confusion there as the lady checking us in had an Hispanic accent and I could barely understand her. I am also tired and getting fussy at this point from a long day of traveling so my normal level of tolerance for aggravation was in a downward spiral. I will soak up the check in experience as perhaps just a language barrier issue. It's not that the woman was rude but not as friendly and informative as I needed in my already confused state.

We loved our very spacious corner view room on the 6th floor! Room #600. Great views! Room was cleaned and towels and toiletries were replenished each day by housekeeping during our three night stay. It was nice to come back each evening after a long day of sightseeing to a clean room! King bed was a little too firm for me. Bathroom was well lit but shower/ tub area was very small. Not a deal breaker but next time I would request a larger, updated shower. Maybe these rooms are on a higher floor. Having the great corner view though more than made up for my gripes about the few room issues.

Breakfast staff we encountered all three mornings were an absolute delight! Food was good. Coffee very good! I was happy to see during the current Coronavirus scare that all food serving was being done by the employees instead of guests being allowed to self serve. Smart decision there. Thank you!

We were only able to enjoy the happy hour reception on our last night at the hotel. Wonderful snacks and absolutely the best choice of appetizers I have ever found at any Embassy Suites happy hour anywhere! Great job and 5 stars all the way on selection. Unfortunately, I cannot rate the bartender working last night (Saturday, March 7th) as 5 stars. Not sure if he just decided that he didn't like us but he certainly went out of his way to ignore us while we sat at the bar. My husband felt the same. He eventually waited on us when the mood struck but we definitely felt slighted. Again, totally confused as to why. Wish I had taken his tip money we left him right back out of the jar bc I don't think he deserved it!

All in all a nice place that I would recommend and now that we know how the parking and check -in works we would stay again if visiting the area. The location is perfect and I loved having the shopping , CVS and The Cheesecake Factory all downstairs! So go ahead and splurge if you stay here and get that corner view room!

If you're taking the metro to Friendship Heights, the hotel is conveniently located within the tunnel and you don't have to go outside to enter the premise. There is plenty of dining and shopping options a block from the hotel. The hotel pool/gym on the penthouse was nice. The rooms were comfortable, spacious and I heard no noise from outside. However, this Embassy Suite wasn't as accommodating as other Embassy Suites I've stayed at in the Washington DC area (ie the Convention Center or near DCA Airport). At least those hotels you had a proper welcome and pleasant stays. I was surprise that the breakfast buffet was regulated and you had to hand your plate for a waffle or 3 pieces of bacon. But I'll find the positive out of this and maybe it helps to reduce food waste. While I enjoyed my weekend in the Friendship Heights area, it is quite far from downtown DC. There was a large group of kids unsupervised and that made it difficult to find a quiet place to enjoy the hotel grounds. And it took me three visits to the front desk to ask for quarters to use the laundry room. Not sure why the supervisor wouldn't have access to the register but maybe Anna Kendrick can answer that in her next Hilton commercial. While this hotel does have plenty positives, I probably would stick with the Embassy Suites Convention Center for my next visit to the DC area.

I am a Hilton member and have been to a few Embassy Suites over the years. This was, by far, the poorest experience I have ever had. I know Covid has made it difficult all around but it cannot be used as an excuse for lacking services at this point.

First of all, there was no housekeeping, which was fine for my two day stay but without it, many guests resorted to leaving their trash and laundry outside their door. Very unpleasant. I feel bad for the housekeeping staff because they are missing out on tips and maybe are offered less hours to work. I did leave a generous tip despite the lack of services. It’s is not the employees’ fault that the policy is to cut their services down. I know they still rely on their tips as income.

Normally there is a restaurant that offers breakfast and maybe more and it also looked like there was a possibility of a bar. The hotel used Covid as an excuse to shut these down completely. So, no quick breakfast, not even a coffee station in the lobby. I’m 100% all for being safe but there really is no reason not to offer guests self-service coffee in the morning. To get coffee, I had to leave the hotel and walk 7 minutes to the closest Starbucks. Seriously. I wonder how the Starbucks down the street can operate during these times but the Starbucks station inside the hotel cannot? Speaking of coffee, I was at the checkout counter and the guest in front of me was asking where he could get coffee. The staff member behind the desk just shrugged and said sorry we don’t have coffee. The guest was ticked!

Oh, as far as breakfast goes, the hotel did offer a “snack bag” to make up for no breakfast offerings. Inside the bag was a green banana, a convenience store packaged muffin, a little granola bar, and my choice of a bottle of water or a juice box. How nice. What I would have preferred was a discount on my room rate to compensate for the lack of services that are offered here.

I spent two nights here at this hotel. I am now at another Hilton in Connecticut. This Hilton Garden Inn is offering a coffee station, a breakfast buffet, and housekeeping. What’s up with that, Embassy Suites?? How come this Hilton has its act together and you don’t?

It’s a shame that the guest experience was so poor here. The location was great, with a Metro station right below the hotel. I think I wouldn’t have been so disappointed if my rate was adjusted accordingly. But to top it all off was to come to another Hilton property and see that they can manage their services appropriately during this time. So disappointing

I hate leaving negative reviews, but the hotel was clearly understaffed and impeded on our stay there. We got locked out of our room due to battery malfunction in the door and there was no maintenance person on hand to help fix it. So we had to be assigned to another room with no access to our things (toothbrush, soap, feminine products, clean clothes, etc). It's just a bizarre and unnecessary problem to run into. We were told that the maintenance person wasn't around due to covid limitations, however the hotel was clearly full so this solution just didn't make sense. Also your concierge had a broken arm and she had no assistance- she deserves extra support!

Basically the rooms need updating and the hotel has cut amenities including housekeeping and breakfast, blaming “COVID” even though local restrictions have been lifted. Given two towels for four people, request to have sofa bed made up was not carried out — even though I visited the property in person two days prior to ensure these arrangements would be in place. (Had to visit in person because they never answer the phone!). After check-in, I returned to front desk to discuss the sofa bed not being made up and the lack of towels, I was told that it was “nearly 3pm and housekeeping was gone for the day.” What?! They did eventually bring us more towels and make up the bed but I had to push for it to be done. And the “breakfast?” A nature valley granola bar, an apple, and a mini bag of goldfish crackers. Plus a mini bottle of water. Really, really disappointing. Bathroom had no ventilation, bathroom door made of cardboard was peeling and disintegrating. Rooms decorated in dark brown and rust orange. The interior room had a window onto... the hallway. Looked at another wall, with people walking by. Coffee maker did not work. No hairdryer. I could go on...

I had several complaints regarding our recent stay at Embassy Suites Chevy Chase:

1. The hotel pool is being rented in the evenings for swim lessons. This was NOT disclosed when we booked the hotel. Several evenings, my children were asked to move to a very small area of the pool to accommodate several children receiving swim lessons from an outside party. On top of that, swim lesson participants would usually stay after their lesson to enjoy the hot tub, use the locker room and would take all the pool towels. My husband and I started adjusting the schedule for our day to take the kids to the pool in the mornings, just so they could enjoy it. One evening in particular, swim parents were playing loud music and drinking while their children participated. I called down to the front desk (with my cell phone as no phones worked in the pool area) to complain and no one showed up to the pool area.

2. Safety and security- due to said swim lessons, no doors to the upstairs amenities were locked at any time. Anyone from the street could take the elevator to the top floor and enter the pool, locker room or work-out facilities. Additionally, the upstairs phone for the hotel was not working at any time during our stay. If there had been an emergency, someone would have had to have their cell phone to contact anyone.

3. I attempted to voice my concerns to the day-time manager and was told amenities do not need to be available to me at all times during my stay. She was very rude. When I mentioned my security concerns, she told me it appeared I was doing fine and checking out that day so nothing that concerning must have happened. I told her I would be contacting corporate, in which she quickly responded, "you go ahead and do that and walked away."

My family of 5 enjoys using Hilton hotels, but due to this experience I am inclined to look elsewhere for future accommodations.

My husband and I stayed here 8 years ago for our 20th wedding anniversary. We loved it then so decided to go back for New year's for 2 nights. The rooms are beautiful and the service at check in was great.

Our reservation was for 2 nights but we decided to stay a 3rd night. The reservation clerks were very accommodating. We were able to stay another night at the originally booked rate but had to move to a different room. That was ok because it was only 3 doors down.

Breakfast was fabulous as they always are at embassy suites. The manager's reception was a nice plus and the snacks provided were more than expected. Nice little finger sandwiches were included and they were very tasty. There was also cut fruit and cheese platters so there was something for everyone.

The location of this hotel is convenient to many shops within a short walking distance which we took advantage of due to the nice weather.

Thank you for a memorable stay and we will definitely be back!

Good location, but that’s all. Hotel needs a good cleaning, dirty bathroom, limited breakfast if you call it breakfast, no cocktails, expensive daily parking, maid service must be requested daily and mall is mostly vacant shops. Find a cleaner location and read the past reviews. They are absolutely accurate.
