Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality! I don't remember any names, but everyone was extremely helpful. The doorman was always quick to open the door for us upon arrival or departure (as our hands were usually full). The ladies & gentlemen at the front desk were very helpful in giving directions and arranging a cab for us when we had to leave very early in the morning. Our room was very comfortable, and we loved the street view out the windows. All in all, we enjoyed our stay immensely!!

I had a really good experience here. The location is very convenient, right near the Capitol and Smithsonian, with plenty of eateries. The neighborhood is safe and quiet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and bellhops were always near the door to open it for you. I was in room 517, which was a junior queen suite. It faced the back of the building and was very quiet. It was very clean. There was nice carpeting. The kitchenette had a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and small sink. Under the sink was a mini bottle of dish soap (bring your own sponge) and 2 small dish cloths. I spent significant time using all the furniture there (desk/chair, arm chair, bed), and all were very comfortable. Lighting is also good. Heating is controlled by a wall thermostat, and there was a working blackout shade to cover the window. The wifi was good - I was able to stream a movie on my laptop without interruption. The toiletries were L'Occitane, which was extra nice. In the closet area are an iron, 2 robes, and even an umbrella. One thing to note is that there is a $25/night amenity charge. There is coffee and tea downstairs 24/7, and some snacks and frozen pizza can be purchased at the front desk. Breakfast is in their 2nd building, you'll need to tap your room key to enter the building. While I was there, the continental breakfast included oranges, bananas, apples, juice, hot drinks, milk, yogurt, cereal, oatmeal packets, granola bars, bagels, bread (for toast), condiments (peanut butter, cream cheese, and jelly packets), pastries, yogurt, eggs, and bacon. I had a great visit and would definitely stay again.

After staying at this hotel towards the end of last year, I had been planning to return. Sadly, current events mean I haven't been able to, so I wanted to say how much I enjoyed my previous stay. I was at the hotel for 10 days as I was visiting relatives in the area and by the end of my time there it really felt like a home from home.
I had a lovely room with a wonderful view. It was comfortable, clean and there were no problems. The bathroom was not large but there was a "dressing room" too. Breakfast is in another part of the hotel next door to the main part, and was well organised with plenty of choice. There was always fresh fruit such as bananas, or apples, and occasionally fresh fruit salad which always went really quickly. It would have been nice to have that option every day.
The hotel is really well situated for walking to interesting parts of Washington, and within easy walking distance of Capitol and the Museums.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful and I liked being able to buy the gift wrapped baked goods on display. I got all my holiday presents there.
The hotel charges a surcharge for use of various amenities and this would be reasonable value if they were used, as it includes Happy Wine Hour every night, the gym, use of bicycles, tea and coffee and iced fruit water, and wifi. However if, like me, you only use the internet (and that is sometimes hard to connect too) then the daily surcharge makes a bit of an unpleasant extra, especially over ten days!
That was my only disappointment however and all the other positives mean it wouldn't deter me from staying again.

I can’t say enough nice things about this hotel and their great staff especially! They “welcome” you back every time you return, serve a real continental breakfast, the hotel is clean and comfortable, and it’s a perfect location for sight seeing with most Smithsonian museums 15 minutes walk or short metro ride and literally blocks away to the Capitol. The room doors are heavy which is great for security, but if you’re a light sleeper take ear plugs as other guests have a tendency to let the doors slam shut behind them. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the comfortable bedding for a reasonable price in a vastly overpriced area. I stayed in the main/old building and the continental breakfast is served next door, which was easily accessible. There are many great restaurants just a short walk away, a Starbucks, We the Pizza, a delicious taquiera with great margaritas, Folgers park nearby to walk and just enjoy a spot of quiet in the city, and even more restaurants and great fun in the Eastern Market about 15 minutes walk away. A great location and wonderful staff who make you feel welcome and quickly attend to any questions or needs. Highly recommend and I’ll be back!

We spent four nights here and really enjoyed our stay right in the heart of Capitol Hill near several bars and eateries. It’s a smaller boutique style place offering a more personal service than larger hotels.

A 20 minute taxi ride got us from Reagan airport to the hotel. Although you can also easily use the metro the closest station is around 200 meters away.

The really friendly team got us checked in and we were soon in our room on the fourth floor. A nice, spacious, clean room with everything we needed, safe, TV, iron etc. The room also had a small kitchenette with sink, microwave and a fridge.

One unique benefit was the guest laundry, $2.50 to do a wash. Dryer also available. This was a superb offering as we were half way though our two week travels.

Breakfast is a simple buffet arrangement, but there is an unlimited supply of coffee and tea in the lobby area. The hotel could have benefited from a bar.

With the easy to ride metro close by, this is a great place to base a visit to DC.

Everything about this stay was perfect. The room was spotless, it was clear they took the pandemic seriously, and the staff was exceptionally accommodating. I was in town for the Justice Ginsburg viewing and have a broken foot. The hotel let us use a wheelchair they had for free, which allowed me to wait in line at the Supreme Court and walk around the mall for the rest of the afternoon. The staff also recommended a cute place to get a quick lunch as well. The rate was very affordable and the hotel was gorgeous- even stocking L’Occitane products. It is also very conveniently located. I can’t say enough nice things about the hotel. Stay here if you come to DC!

This is a terrific boutique-type hotel directly next to the Library of Congress. Such a charming location Capital Hill and so convenient to the National Mall and all the rest that DC has to offer. The staff is very accommodating and friendly and I got the impression they would do anything we asked to make our stay even better than it was. The room was spacious and the bed and bedding very comfortable. Continental breakfast (very standard) is included there is wine offered in the afternoon.

As other reviewers have stated, this is a perfect, perfect location. 1 Block to Capitol south metro, fun restaurants, liquor store, church, bikes to borrow. Can walk to all the major DC sites from this location. We got upgraded to bldg 2, full kitchenette. Rooms are really dated, kinda scuffed up. Maintenance came to fix the safe battery. A lot of light coming in from street, even with room darkening shades. No housekeeping because of Covid but we requested fresh towels and more garbage bags and made it work. It’s be nice to put some small cleaning products in room since no housekeeping (small broom, disinfectant wipes, dish soap) Cute lil breakfast boxes available in am. No front desk workers until 5:30 on sat morning. Great bathroom products! Tea & coffee in lobby library.

Great location, staff, cleanliness, all the things one would want in a hotel. I was not happy, however, with my bill as I was quoted $309.60 for 3 nights, but ended up being $478.19. There is an amenity fee which covers the "complimentary breakfast" and wine, which I did not drink, nor did I use anything in the room where there should be an extra charge. Ask about hidden fees when booking - there are several.

This is a sweet, simple hotel, very clean and in a fantastic location in and around the Capital Building, Supreme Court, Folger Library and Library of Congress. It is located in the middle of a delightful residential area and within walking distance of George Washington University. There is off-street parking for a small fee, and the room rates are unbelievably low. The staff are helpful, friendly and informative. Even in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic I felt very safe.
