From time we pulled up to the time we drove off, everything was impeccable! We stayed at the Watergate for the Effect Fitness event and we were very impressed with everything. The hospitality was so that if it wasn't for the foreign accents we'd thought we were in the south. (southern hospitality)! 😉

Just like the history of The Watergate our weekend there was an enigma of experiences. Upon check in we were welcome by a very nice front desk person who offered us an excellent upgrade so that we could enjoy a balcony. Upon arrival to the room it was lovely and the beds are super comfortable. That unfortunately leads us to a plot twist. The AC in the room kept turning itself off with one night the circuit breaker tripping as we were falling asleep that turned everything off in the room. The AC turning off led to us returning to a very hot room at the end of the day which was not pleasant. There is also currently poor communication to guests about the current housekeeping schedule. While I understand due to COVID daily housekeeping isn't possible this should be communicated to guests either at check in or with a sign in the room. Neither of these happened during our stay. Finally, in our haste to checkout I left a Paul Stuart Seersucker Blazer and a pair of chinos in the closet. While I understand this was my mistake the items should not have gone missing. It took many calls back to the hotel to reach someone to file this report and then we had to make multiple call backs in order to find out that the items were not located even when told where I left them. This should not happen at a five star hotel and it totally ruin my experience. The only redeeming factor was the ability to tour the scandal room which was where the Watergate break in was coordinated. All in there are plenty of luxury hotels in DC and I would give The Watergate a pass until it can adapt better to our current times.

We very much enjoyed our 5 day stay at the Watergate! We initially booked here because it was dog-friendly and was close to many of the sites to see in DC at a reasonable price. We were greeted at the door upon arrival by Teddy- who truly delivered double platinum service for our entire stay. He was a wonderful ambassador for the Watergate and he made us feel so cared for. Our dog was also very welcomed and we felt safe to leave him in the room while we went sightseeing to places that did not allow dogs. We also very much enjoyed our massages at the Spa. Lisa, my massage therapist was wonderful - in fact one of the best I have had! Perfect pressure to get my muscles to relax without leaving me with bruises and feeling sore the next day. Soooo relaxing Many sites were short Uber rides away and for some may be walkable in 30 minutes. With all the walking and standing we did all day at the sites- we decided to take an Uber to and from the hotel. Highly recommend the Watergate!

We had such a great time at the Watergate Hotel! EVERY time we left or entered the front doors, we were greeted by hosts that opened the doors and said Hello! Many times we were offered cold water for those really warm days! It was very nice! The Whiskey Bar was so cool with a great 70's vibe and good drinks and food. The Top of the Gate restaurant at the top of the hotel, had amazing awesome views and was delightful. The housekeeping was terrific and did a wonderful job. I think this hotel is 10 stars and we will be back! Thank you Pascal (Manager) as you were very cordial and kind to us as well. Thank you for seeking us out and making sure our stay was everything we had hoped and then some! Great job at the Watergate Hotel with customer service, staffing and hospitality.
