Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

At the Embassy Suites by Hilton Washington DC Convention Center, the service, especially during breakfast and the evening reception, is often highlighted for its attentiveness, though a few guests have had less positive encounters. The modern, clean ambiance of the hotel garners appreciation, creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Despite this, some visitors find the hotel overpriced, pointing to steep parking fees and extra charges.
Room opinions vary, with guests describing them as both roomy and confined, and while cleanliness is generally well-regarded, occasional issues are noted. The hotel's prime location is frequently lauded, offering easy access to local attractions. Amenities like the complimentary breakfast and evening reception are popular, although the pool has received mixed feedback.

Detailed Reviews
Hotel's Favourite
I brought my grandson (Age 9) to Washington DC for Fall Break. I wanted a hotel which was convenient to the White House and National Mall and I certainly found that with Embassy Suites Convention Center. In addition to convenience, the hotel is spotless (newly refurbished) and has an incredible FREE breakfast. There is also an indoor pool. Our suite was perfect with a living area and a separate bedroom. Lots of room for my grandson to watch TV or play. His favorite part was breakfast. He ordered his own made-to-order omelet and then made his own plate with everything else - fruit, cereal, orange juice, yogurt, muffins. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. Elvis at the front desk welcomed us when we arrived and did a pre-check in and sent a text when our room was ready. The housekeeping staff was very friendly and helpful. There is a free reception with snacks and there was also an evening restaurant menu with a kid's menu. My grandson wanted to eat at the hotel every day so we never left after we returned from sight-seeing. I wish I could rate with more than 5 Stars.

Dear bag1234, Thank you! It was an absolute joy to receive your review. Our staff works hard to deliver outstanding service. It was a pleasure to read that you enjoyed your visit and that you were impressed with our impeccable hotel. Enjoying the charm of our newly remodeled hotel and spacious guest suites, and being so close to the Washington DC museums, monuments, and shopping, certainly makes our location enviable. Our offering is so wide and varied, from the indoor pool to the many culinary treats to be had at Brickstones Kitchen & Bar, to our complimentary breakfast, a guest favorite. I am absolutely delighted to see that Elvis was able to make your stay a memorable one, going above and beyond to ensure your experience was spectacular. Your mention of the warm, welcoming, and attentive service delivered by our team members was met with great appreciation and is reflective of the culture our leadership team upholds. Warm regards, David Kasprzyk, General Manager

My best experience in a hotel in the recent few years. This hotel offers all the features we need for a family vacation of four: separate bedrooms, fulfilling free breakfast, clean and modern interior, convenient but quiet location, and a pool. I read all the emails about the long lines to wait for breakfast, but it turned out to be not that bad (5min wait the most). The sofa bed has a sleeper and a pull-out bed that allows my two kids to sleep separately, which they love. We didn’t expect we will be utilizing the evening happy hour that much. Definitely a great way to recharge the kids after a long day. Will definitely stay in this hotel again.

Great stay at the Embassy Suites Convention Center. The location is convenient to many restaurants, shops, Convention Center and the metro. It is walkable to many museums and sites (depending on your tolerance for walking- around 15 mins to the White House, etc).
Our room was big enough to accommodate 5 of us. We had a nice view looking over New York Ave. If you can choose a room, definitely avoid the even numbered rooms bc they will look exactly at a brick building next door.
Rooms look recently refurbished. Nice furniture and comfortable beds. Our room had a nice size walk-in shower.
Breakfast each morning was well done. Plenty of choices so even after staying 5 nights, we didn't get sick of it. Good coffee. The evening Happy Hour was a nice perk. 2 drinks per adult (kids/nondrinkers can have as many Shirley Temples and sodas as they want). The appetizers were a little limited, such as hummus and chips, sometimes cheese, but it was good enough to take the edge off before dinner.
The hotel is kept very clean. I noticed if someone set dirty plates or glasses outside of their room they were picked up quickly.
The hotel was full during our visit but there was never a wait for the elevators like there is at many hotels.
Parking rate is steep, about $60 per night so keep checking before you go for the park and stay rate that will include parking.
Looked to be a decent gym and indoor swimming pool although we did not use either one.
I would definitely consider staying here again if we are back in DC in the future.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, we did our check in via the HHonors App and selected our room on the 15th floor and provided an estimated arrival time of 3pm. We arrived at the hotel at just before 5pm, were not recognized as Honors members upon check-in and was told our room was not ready. I was offered another room on the 15th floor but in my honest opinion, it was a lesser room then what I had booked.
We took the room and when we got to the room found that while the room was clean, it was missing items including linens for the sofa bed and adequate number for 3 people. We notified the desk immediately and were told someone would bring it up ASAP. We placed 2 additional calls between the time we checked in and 1130pm before we placed a third call stating we would be speaking with the hotel manager in the morning if someone was not there NOW. We notified the desk that the bathroom light sensor was broken as the light in the bathroom never turned off. They stated someone would fix it while were out of the room - In 5 days, it was never fixed once. Housekeeping did a nice job keeping the room clean but for some reason never restocked the coffee or cups in the room. We called for them on 2 separate occasions (2 different days) and our request was never filled.
Breakfast was good. On several occasions, the staff making the omelets screwed up and failed to make our omelets with egg whites (even though it was requested). I also received another guests order which confused me as there were only a few people there at the time.
The evening reception is a waste in my opinion. The same boring sweet and salty foods every single night. I am sorry but you can take so much M&M's and Potato Chips. The reception is mostly to serve alcoholic beverages which I think is rather unfair for those of us who did not drink. Personally, I would like to see Embassy Suites give a food credit in place of the evening reception. This allows those who want to purchase alcoholic beverages to do so and those who do not could use it to purchase a dinner or a snack.
The pool is year round and indoors. It would have been a great pool except for the fact that the space is to small and noise echoed from every wall. If you are hoping to sit and relax by the pool, forget it!

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! From the minute we checked in this place impressed. First off, every member of the staff, from valets to restaurant staff to front desk, were welcoming and committed to "above and beyond " level service. Having people happily take care of you and be concerned about your needs is such a standout feature especially after a long and tiring trip with small children. In our post pandemic climate when it suddenly seems like nearly every customer service interaction is stressful, the staff here deserve a round of applause for making customers feel welcome and cared for. Particular shout out to a young waiter in restaurant (can't remember his name but started with O) who basically guarded our table and helped me ferry food back and forth when he could see me struggling to manage food and kids. Thank you!
We stayed in king corner suite and room was huge, spotlessly clean, nicely fragranced, and well-equipped (high end toiletries, lots of space for luggage, usb outlets for charging, posh linens). Rain showers in bath were excellent! Beds luxurious and comfortable. Sofa bed attached to a chaise lounge, giving kids lots of room to spread out. Kitchens would benefit from microwaves, but were otherwise adequate.
Hotel is 10 min walk to White House. We did the entire walking loop to Lincoln Memorial and back, with 30 mins to see dinos in Smithsonian, in 3 hours, providing a perfect walking tour on our only morning in DC.
Overall a fabulous stay. Our only regret was we only had one night! I hope we can come back and enjoy this hotel again on a longer trip.

In a nutshell, Black guests were told they couldn't check in because there were no linens while white guests walked right up and got their room keys. The lobby was filled with people of color, including the elderly, families with young children, and disabled guests (like myself) waiting for hours. We got our room only after repeatedly going up to the front desk and frankly, being a pest. There was no shortage of clean rooms or linens! The DC Embassy Suites blatantly chooses to be unwelcoming to Black travelers.

Super easy and fast check in with Richie Rich. Rooms were very clean and maintained/restocked each day. Breakfast was crowded, but staff did an amazing job keeping the food refilled and tables cleaned quickly. Special thanks to Kelly at the restaurant for being exceptionally kind and thoughtful! Our daughter has food allergies and Kelly went above and beyond to find safe food options for her. Thank you so very much for making this an extra special trip for our family!

My family of 4 stayed here while visiting DC for a long weekend. The hotel is conveniently located close to tourist attractions. We didn’t want to valet for $50/day so we parked down the street through SpotHero for $23/day. The valets also handle bag assistance so we had to get our bags unloaded and to our room by ourselves. The room was pretty nice. We wanted a separate bedroom and liked having a fridge. There weren’t enough towels or pillows in the room when we arrived but they brought us some. The hotel is quite noisy. We could hear people in the hallways and the close rooms. The toilets are extremely loud. The pool was small and crowded. My 6 year old loved it but it was too much for the rest of us. The biggest issue we experienced was the long wait for the elevators each morning. The elevators get very busy from 8-10 am and it’s difficult to get to and from the lobby. There is no stair access so everyone has to use the elevators. Breakfast is ok. I liked getting fresh eggs to order, toast or grits, bacon, and fruit. The dining area is not well designed for the flow of people and that can become frustrating. For example, instead of setting up the coffee station order with cups, then coffee, then sugar/creamer, they have it as coffee, cups, and then way down on the other end of the room there is the sugar/creamer. People can take a long time at a station and some folks wait patiently for them while others cut around them and then prevent traffic flow in the other direction. It’s strange and unorganized. The evening reception was fine. We went one time. They serve very inexpensive drinks and chips. There were a ton of people there and it wasn’t something we were interested in doing again. Overall, it was a great stay in a beautiful city. It wasn’t perfect but we would stay here again.

Dear P235LDsarab, At Embassy Suites Washington DC Convention Center, we appreciate guest feedback as it helps us understand what guests loved most about their stay with us and where they feel we can further elevate the overall experience. Reviews like yours are also of great value as they help others understand what to expect when visiting a hotel like ours. We are thrilled that you provided us the opportunity to host you and are grateful to you for enumerating some of the amenities which help us create such positive guest experiences. However, we regret to learn of some of the details that were underwhelming. We will re-examine these as we are always seeking to refine our service and offering. It is disappointing that your visit did not echo the perfection we desired for you. Please know that the pleasure was ours and on behalf of all of us, we hope that you might visit again so that we can win your heart in full. Kind regards, David Kasprzyk, GM

The location is wonderful to get to shopping and restaurants. The products in the room are also great, paraben and sulfate free. The service is mediocre at best, the room phones all go to automated systems and when you can get transferred to the front desk, the "number has been disconnected". The breakfast is also mediocre and you will wait about 20 minutes in line to get your food. The rooms are clean and mostly quiet.

We set up a room block at this Embassy Suites for our out-of-town guests. We also used hotel suites for the groomsmen and bridesmaids. Everything was absolutely outstanding, from the moment we first started arranging things right through the end of the weekend. Ellen McCall showed us the various room options and handled the setup with great knowledge and responsiveness. During the weekend all of our guests were treated so well, from the car valet to bellhops to the front desk. Even late at night there were hotel employees available to help out. When one of guests had a room mixup, a hotel employee personally went down to exchange keys for the guest. We also used Brickstones for a Friday private reception. Michele Dure in Catering worked closely with us to craft a delicious menu, while being respectful of our budget. Our guests and the bride and groom had a fabulous night. We cannot recommend the hotel highly enough for events.
