Had booked 2 rooms . One room had TV but no remote. There was no ironing press available in any room. Rooms had old chipped table lamps. Only one room had small chair. One room had coffee maker , other had no coffee maker. Called the front desk and asked about it . The staff said sorry and did not even try to rectify it. On the day of checkout informed that we will be checking out and within half an hour cleaning staff came by 9:30 AM. Got call from Front desk that we are still in the room !! Checkout is 11:00 AM. Staff even does not have the courtesy / knowledge how to communicate with the guests !!

This hotel is on New York Ave just before Bladensburg Road. It's just inside DC. If u r a family visiting DC, in my opinion this is not were u want to stay. Metro isn't within walking distance, it's not a great area, above avg crime rate, lots of traffic and traffic noise. This hotel is for workers, long distance drivers let's put it this way I wouldn't want any1 I care about staying here. Rooms are avg size, below avg in cleanliness, the staff is nice and polite that's the only good thing.

This Hotel is by far Washington D.C. worst, it needs to be shut down immediately, they charge 3$ to wash and dry clothes where as the Hampton inn only charges 1$ the service is horrible and they shouldn't allow anyone to stay there ever

Overall impression from other reviews is that this hotel should be avoided. However, it is not that bad and if you can put up with its deficiencies you will be rewarded with very helpful staff and a fast, free and efficient shuttle to Union Station. The hotel is next to the main road that enters Washington DC and so noise is a problem. If you stay at a weekend the hotel is often used by people attending local weddings and parties so do not be surprised if you are woken at 3:00am. Despite the details saying that there is a room safe there is not so you will have to carry your valuables with you during the day. There are security staff and the local police often wait outside because of the ease of access to the local roads. Although the hotel is several miles from the city centre it is only a $14 taxi ride away and you can also use the free shuttle up to 8:30pm. Remember to book your place in the morning though. Breakfast is at 7:00am and includes cereals, coffee/tea, cakes, fruit etc. The hotel has a resident Chinese restaurant which is reasonable and there are are a few alternative places to eat in the evening including a MacDonalds. The internet works OK during the day but falls over in the evenings and really onlu supports basic email and surfing, no IP phones or VPN. If you want a warm, clean and cheap room with basic facilities I would recommend this hotel but if you are looking for convenience and luxury then look elsewhere.

The property was hosting a wedding on Saturday night so there was hooting and hollering until 6am with people and stomping around the walkway even in the farthest reaches away from the front desk. Quieter during the week. Shower in adjacent room sounded like Niagra Falls in my room at 6am. walls are paper thin. Shuttle does not run until 8:00 in the morning. If you need a taxi just as good to stand on the street in the morning as trying to book one the night before -- booked taxis unreliable. Front desk would call one for you in the morning-- sometimes with a smile sometimes with a sigh -- depending on who was working. When traffic was bad (raining) it could take 20 minutes for taxi to arrive. Room was clean, bed was good enough. Housekeeping forgot to put out towels one day. Biggest hassle is getting to and from downtown -- at night don't try to catch a cab out to hotel from nearest 2 train stations -- no cabs. Union station will have cabs -- about $13 each way, but further out (NOMA or Rhode Island STN) none to be found. WiFii worked in room. Lots of fast food nearby. inexpensive, no frills but bring earplugs.
