This hotel is in a great location. Less than a block from National's park, Metra is around the corner, great restaurants nearby. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, a little limited but that may be COVID related. Exercise room was in good shape and had a good choice of equipment. Room was clean and new. Cleaning was limited due to COVID or staffing. Which seems normal these days, I do wish they would have told us we needed to request new towels unless we were staying for 8 days. That just seemed longer than the normal time frame. All in all a great choice and I would recommend.

Short 2 night family trip to watch a Nationals game. Residence Inn was across the street from Nationals Park and in a very hip neighborhood with many restaurants and night life. We arrived very late (mid-night) and the door on the ground floor was closed. A card key was required to gain access to the elevator to the lobby. A night guard/valet was inside and opened the door for us as we had to check in. Minor inconvenience was to ride the elevator up a few floors to reception/lobby area. Especially inconvenient if you are in a rush. I guess they had to maximize the retail space on the ground floor. They didn't have 2 queen/full bed rooms so we ended up with 2 king rooms. Rooms were clean (with extra alcohol prep if you wanted to wipe the remoted down). Each room had a kichenette (complete with cook and serve ware and plates/bowls, etc - also with a dishwasher which we didn't use) with a bar table and chairs, a pull out couch, king bed, tv and modern bathroom. Loved the shampoo. It had tea tree oil or something methol-y which cooled the scalp. We used the pull out couches in both rooms. Full set of bedding was available in the closet along with a valet. Each closet also had a in room safe. Elevators to rooms were separate from the lobby to ground floor. There were 2 elevators to guest rooms which were very busy and again, if you are in a rush, can be a painful wait. There is an option to take the stairs, but only good if you are on a low floor. Breakfast was available on the mornings we were there - gratis. Nothing to speak of, but nice to get a quick nibble (scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes - fruit, yogurt and COFFEE, tea and juice). Just ahead of closing, it was packed and seating was limited. In other words, get there at least 30 mins before closing. Valet parking was available at the hotel, but street parking seemed reasonably available and more convenient - as you didn't need to wait for your car. Parking on game day was a bit more challenging on the street as it is largely permitted on game days. Great stay. Tip: They will not change your sheets or make up your room unless you ask. This is all in line with COVID as well as saving the environment. We were fine with that since we were only there for 2 nights.

We took a trip to DC to see the Nationals baseball park. This hotel was only a few blocks away from the ballpark. There were a couple of restaurants right next to the hotel (Circa & El Bebe), which I highly recommend. The hotel was clean. They offered complimentary breakfast each morning. When we got back to our room the first day, we noticed that our room had not been made up. When I called the front desk, I was told that due to Covid they were short staffed, so there would be no room cleaning during our stay. The big issue we had was with parking. We got back to the hotel late the first night & when we tried to park in the garage behind the hotel, we were told that there was no overnight parking allowed. Only the valets were allowed to park a minimal number of cars there. We drove to the valet area for the hotel & told them we were guests there & they said that they had no available parking for the valets either. We searched for parking on the street & saw that the parking rates were super expensive. We called the hotel for help & were put on hold for a very long time. This was about midnight & we were very tired. We finally ended up parking on the street & when we tried to pay, we discovered that the parking was free overnight until 7 or 8 am. My husband ended up getting up early & going to move the car into the valet. At that point, we didn't want to take a chance & ended up paying the $50.74 ($43 for parking & 7.74 parking tax) fee per day at the hotel.

On the map, it's hard to tell how close or far you are, but this was the best we could do for points during a busy time. I must say, it was an excellent choice. This hotel is literally right next to the Washington Nationals stadium for baseball fans. It is less than a mile walk to the capitol. Whole Foods is about 10 minutes' walk. We visited during a time that had most roads/intersections close to the mall blocked off. We were able to walk to the Air and Space Museum (though closed) as it was a good spot to view inauguration. Room was very clean and the shower was amazing. Staff was friendly. Kitchen is great, but no oven, so don't buy things that need baking. Limited breakfast, grab and go style. Much appreciated the late check out and helpfulness of employees.

Hotel is nice, lounge room is spacious with TV and tables to eat. ( was closed on Jan 7, 2021) . Rooms are spacious, but dark, as the windows are literally blocked by next to hotel building. So no sun light at all. Kitchen has everything you need to cook. ( i mean dishes). Location is a bit deserted, but walkable to the Capitol . Whole food store is maybe 500 m away. parking is $50 valet. Metro 5 minutes walk. Beds are fine, comfortable. Air conditioner is ok, not too loud. It was ok stay. Stayed for 3 nights.
