I've had to stay in other hotels while working during the pandemic and this experience has been the best by far! You are greeted by Aziz who makes it a point to open all doors for you to avoid touching the handles and help with luggage. The front desk was exceptional with making sure they sanitized your credit card and ID after touching them. They are not offering daily housekeeping for reservations less than 7 days, to avoid people going into your room, but you are welcome to pick up more linens and towels. The location is also perfect, with lots of great parks and outdoor attractions within walking distance, or borrow one of their adorable bikes to cruise around on! Will definitely book here again!

The Darcy gave us an unmatched experience. We stayed at the Darcy at the end of 2019 and i'm still day dreaming about it. We booked our stay unexpectedly and they treated us like we'd been there 100x's. We stayed in the 1 bedroom suite so our daughter could rest easily while we spent late nights binging the mini bar and calling out for room service. Upon entering the hotel we were always greeted and offered cool water after each walking journey and in the evening they offered cocktails as we entered the lobby. Classy service with a smile. We were close enough to walk to everything; coffee, restaurants. capital buildings, tours, groceries, bookstores, small shops, etc. While we were in DC we had a car rental which we promptly returned, it was totally unnecessary. I suggest taking a uber or taxi to get around or just walk. Stay at the Darcy and experience DC in a great location with beautiful surroundings. We will be back for the Cherry Blossoms!

I asked how much extra to bring a cat and was told nothing, it's a pet friendly hotel, you just sign an agreement to be responsible. I was not expecting that! I live two blocks away, just needed a room while my home was being renovated, so I know this is a prime location, a short walk to the White House, K Street and the business district, a block from a Whole Foods and two blocks from the vibrant 14th Street corridor, and four blocks from Dupont Circle. A premiere address, yet the price was a lot lower than I'd expected.

The clerk, Michael, told me upon check-in that I would be entitled to two free drinks and recommended the Darcy special. I was psyched, as it was 98 degrees outside and I was carrying a lot of stuff, and was tired and thirsty. But the restaurant was about to close and my girlfriend was very tired. So we went up to the room.

As soon as we got upstairs I left the room to race down to the restaurant before it closed. But there was Michael, holding two drinks, which turned out to be delicious, gin with cucumber and basil, in his gloved hands, which didn't, as he informed me, touch anywhere near the top of the glass.

I don't require to be attended to, but I was blown away. What a thoughtful and kind act! Michael is a star! He sensed my dilemma at the front desk, though I hadn't said anything. He tried to turn down a tip, but I insisted.

Anyway, the room was great, the shower was AWESOME!!!!! I would come back just for the shower!

As a nervous traveler I found myself, happy and reassured the moment I arrived at the Darcy front doors. I stayed 4-night stay and wish it was longer. Part of what I found interesting was how I learned about the history of the hotel including details of the recent remodel from a proud staff member. After that I found myself really noticing all the intimate, one of a kind touches the architects and designers had used to create this stylish hotel.
The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and modern. I felt like the Darcy with its central location and comfortable feel was great value for the cost.
My stay coincided with the phase 2 opening, including necessary maid service/front desk interactions changes handled with care allowing me to feel safe. As I was checking out the restaurant opened for lunch, dinner and room service.
I am happy to have chosen to stay at the Darcy Hotel DC, supporting a wonderful independent hotel. I hope to be back soon having been treated kindly and professionally by each staff member.

The Darcy is a very nice, upscale, boutique hotel right in the heart of Embassy Row. Very convenient to the restaurants and hotspots on 14th street. Whole Foods, Starbucks just around the corner. There is a Bluestone Lane coffee shop on the first floor that you can access directly from hotel. The styling and décor are impeccable and looks to be recent. Be warned the rooms are on the small side but comfortable. The lack of a real closet is a bit problematic. This is an old building after all. Therefore, sometimes you get a bad view but that is on par for any hotel in a major city. Small details like the thermostat going dark after a few seconds when you turn the lights off makes this hotel special. Nothing worse than a blue light piercing the room then you are trying to sleep. It's all in the details. Speaking of sleep, the beds a re very comfortable. We had an issue with our bathroom sink but it would be a simple fix that we told the front desk about. There is a cocktail tasting everyday in the bar downstairs which we unfortunately never got to but sounded like a lot of fun.

The only reason this hotel does not get five stars is because of the ridiculous $25 a night "resort" fee it charges. And yes, I knew about it when I booked the hotel. This is widespread in the hotel industry and not specific to this hotel alone, but it has to stop. The Darcy is in NO WAY a resort hotel. It doesn’t even have a pool or sundeck. What they claim the fee is for; the cocktail tasting, "premium" Wifi, access to bicycles, bottled water (!), and a few other thing (see photo).

The Darcy is a hidden gem! The rooms are updated, modern, and well-stocked. The attached cafe has great coffee and food, and the gin tasting every evening is on point. Bottled water is given out upon request at the front desk, so you will never have to sit in your room wishing you had some water - The Darcy has it for you. The Darcy is within walking distance to great little restaurants, a Whole Foods, and Dupont Circle. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. Stay - you will not regret it!

I will stay at Darcy again but I will not stay in the room that has a roll in shower until you correct the problem. With my wife health problem at our house we have a roll in shower but it has clean glass doors on it. It make things harder for my wife to step into a tub shower but it needs handicap rails. I hope you have that type of room for next time or correct your roll in shower bathroom. Management of Darcy need to go turn the water on in room 626 and just stand there and you will see what I am talking about. If your maintain men does not know how to correct the problem, call me I have a idea.

It was our first time in Washington D.C. and the Darcy Hotel was the perfect spot. If you enjoy walking, you can walk to all the historic monuments, museums and nearby restaurants. The entry way to the room itself was small and although the room itself was average size the bathroom was tiny. I couldn’t really sleep well because the ac was a little loud for me. They also add a $25 service fee per day to your stay but this includes free bottled water, WiFi, gym access and happy hour at the bar.

My organization books us at Darcy when we're visiting DC office. So, I've stayed here half a dozen times for 2-5 days each visit. Nice rooms, but lumpy pillows and thin comforters. Also, forget about calling in room requests (e.g. quiet or bright), the last three times these have not shown up in final reservation. Other guests complained about this. The front desk staff are not great, seems high turnover with little experience and not great customer service attitude. Finally, the hotel needs to improve its environmental practices, e.g. all the housekeepers replace towels every day even when guest places them on the drying rack. Also, they use disposable coffee cups instead of providing mugs in the rooms for those who don't need "to go".

A beautiful boutique hotel in a very convenient location. Not too far from the White House. Easy street parking. Very nice and welcoming staff compared to other corporate hotels. Feels personal. We stayed 2 nights in July 2020 and they did a great job keeping the space clean and guests safe. We stayed for two nights and brought our cat. We felt safe and The Darcy is a pet-friendly hotel. It's definitely a tough time for every industry and we wanted to support small/local businesses. While checking on the third party website, I highly recommend booking with them directly since they are flexible and easy to negotiate. Last but not least, it's a beautiful hotel especially the interior is amazing. Thank you all the staff and hope you guys stay safe.

As far as I can remember it is basically a minibar so there is not a whole lot of room left over to put stuff. You might be able to place a water bottle.
