If you are happy not to stay on the Kastro, this hotel is a great choice. A stone's throw from beach, with stunning views of the sea from the balcony. Large clean room. Very friendly staff who most informative.
What a great find. Situated 50 metres from the shuttle bus stop on the causeway to the castle, it has a great location. Very clean and comfortable rooms. Sea view rooms have a panoramic view of the rock. Service was excellent. The lady at reception was very friendly at all times, give great advice on how to visit the castle and was a credit to the hotel. All Covid 19 measures taken and without fuss. The breakfast was outstanding and well worth the money
Absolutely amazing staff at the Filoxenia - plenty of knowledge of where to go, what do do, and where to eat - nothing was a problem. Good sized room - very clean, along with the bathroom, and amazing views from the balcony to 'The Rock' of Monemvasia. Plenty of parking right outside, beach just across the road, and easy walking distance to tavernas for meals. Also easy walking distance to Monemvasia village and the climb to the top. Breakfast was excellent (served next door for 6 euros each) and good value. Would have no hesitation recommending the Filoxenia, and would definitely stay again.
We stayed here 2 nights, while travelling around the stunning Peloponnesus. The hotel is right on the water, walk cross the street and swim. There is a great taverna opposite, with plenty others to choose from in the town. Rooms are clean, and spacious, the view is great, but it’s best asset is the staff who go out of their way to provide the advertised ‘Filoxenia’, Greek hospitality. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, a lovely hotel in a stunning town.
We really liked the hotel. We got an inexpensive room which was very clean and well equipped. The balcony was quite small but okay for the price and we had superb view of the rock. The hotel generally is very well presented, I loved the floor in the reception area, paved with beautiful, caramel coloured, natural onynx. The staff were friendly and the chamber ladies did a great job of keeping the rooms fresh and tidy. There is no restaurant or breakfast provided in the hotel itself, however they have an arrangement with the cafe next door who provide a decent buffer breakfast for the reasonable price of six euros per head.
